The obvious solution would be to move to the west coast. Then you'd be going to sleep at midnight and waking up at 9/10am. Problem solved!

Switzerland beat Russia 3-2 in overtime today! Russia is out and Switzerland is going on to face Canada in the Semis.

I slept for 4 hours last night, then spent the day with extended family. The first hour after I get up is usually pretty horrible no matter how much sleep I get, but after that I'm good to go pretty much all day.

I picked up Defence Grid when it was on for $2 or so. I'd second the motion for Starscape. Haven't bought it during the sale, but I've got a hard copy floating around here that I bought just after the revision of the box art. I did pick up Mr. Robot though. The Moonpod guys make some fun stuff. *plugs Shattered Horizon again* We went from 20 people online yesterday to over 600 today. It's so awesome seeing all those servers with people in them!

I'm playing Shattered Horizon again. Need to get started on this week's challenges. $5 on the Steam sale right now if anyone else is interested. Also, really tempted to load up Borderlands again and Mass Effect is pissing me off with the constant hard locking crashes 10 minutes into every game.

I'm just disappointed that Mike Fisher didn't make the team. Edit: Geez, Doan has been on just about every single Canadian team for international competition since '03. Only year he missed was '06, but he made up for that by being on the Olympic team.

Lecavilier is having a pretty rough season so far, and St. Louis hasn't been big time for a couple years now. edit: You know, I just checked the stats, and St. Louis is still putting up a lot of points. Maybe it's the ugly +/- rating? I'd still rather have Lecavalier than Richards. He's having an off year for himself, but he's still on pace for almost 80 points. The only other player I'm a little iffy on is Brenden Morrow. Maybe it's because I haven't seen him play, although I'm not sure who I'd replace him with. I'd be tempted to grab Ryan Smyth to replace him at left wing though.

Hm, it seems to me that Marleau has been with the Sharks for.. forever already. 300 goals? OK, I just checked it.. He's been with the Sharks for 12 seasons. To put things in perspective: Ovechkin has been with the Caps for five years and has 244 goals so far. That's kind of impressive.. That's not fair. Ovechkin is a goal scoring robot. He was built to score goals. Comparing anyone these days to him is going to have Ovechkin come out on top. Also, Canada picked up their second win at the world Juniors. 6-0 over Switzerland. TSN analysts were saying the first two goals probably shouldn't have counted.

It took me most of the evening, but I managed to finish up the challenges for this week. So tired now...

There is 5 hours left in the competition. I have one more win that I need to get in order to qualify for that prize. I just don't care anymore though. So many losses. What good is a >1 K/D ratio if you don't get the win in the end anyway? Maybe if I knew what map I needed I might still care, but right now I'm just tired of getting my ass kicked.

I should have kept track of my wins a little better. I've got 10/12 required wins for this competition, but I can't remember which ones I have! I know that I have: Assault: Flipside, Moondust, ISS, Arc Battle: ? Skirmish: Flipside, Moondust, ISS Obviously I've got a couple battle wins, but I don't know which maps. I'm almost positive that I'm missing Arc Skirmish as well which would mean I have 3/4 battle maps. I've got just under 18 hours to figure it out and get the wins I need before the deadline closes.

There is always Virmire.

More Shattered Horizon. I still need 4 more wins before Sunday at midnight. I've had horrible luck with skirmish matches since the competition started. 4 maps, 3 game modes. Need one win per map, per mode to get into the draw for that motherboard...

I'm almost positive that there is some way to get it to show the right keys. I know that when I plugged in my Logitech gamepad it would come up with the proper button numbers and little grey circles instead of the colourful xbox prompts. A quick search says that there should be an option in the settings menu. Check under controller settings for key signal display. Change that to keyboard.
