You weren't sucking alone to begin with. Carolina was down there with you! Markov can't come back soon enough.

You and I are most likely the only ones around here that care about sports titles. Nah, you guys aren't the only sports fan. The only baseball fans maybe, but not sports fans. There are 7-8 regulars around here that picked up NHL 10 and were talking about it for a little while. I'm currently playing Shattered Horizon again. It takes a little getting used to again, but being able to move in any direction is fun. They're running a set of competitions for the next few weeks so I figured it was about time I picked it up. I've got three guest passes if anyone wants to try it out and get in on the competition.

Nice. My favourite class from the first game and I'm glad to see they've got some neat new things.

I somehow made it through the morning on only 4 hours of sleep! Most of the time when I do that I end up being half asleep for 3/4 of my 9am microeconomics class. Somehow I made it through the entire class the morning without even so much as a yawn. Maybe it's the cold. A nice quick walk in -10C seems to wake you up pretty well in the morning. Maybe I should find someway to rig my bedroom window to open when the alarm goes off. "You have 10 seconds to get up and turn the alarm off before the window opens and you freeze to death. 9... 8..."

A question about future hardware needs for New Vegas...
Deraldin replied to fortheforum's topic in Computer and Console
Because that would be too easy and wouldn't give you any chance to argue on the internet. New Vegas won't magically have Crysis level recommended specs. The graphics will likely be improved, but I wouldn't expect anything too drastic. -
I broke my snowblower! Hurray! Now I'll have to shovel the first big snowfall by hand! I'm so excited! Maybe if I kick the snowblower enough, the cord will pop back into place and it'll work properly again...

These are pretty drastic, and I think overdo it a little. CoC and Blizzard nerfs are fine, but CP and FF should have only been cut by 6-7 seconds, not 11-12. Now I wonder if they will turn out to be less useful than some other spells... well, I won't know, since I'm finishing this playthrough without the patch, and next run will be solo rogue. Like you said, Cone of Cold is fine. Blizzard might be a little much. I probably wouldn't drop it below the 8 seconds that Cone of Cold gets. Force Field still lasts long enough to be useful, but the explanation they gave for the nerf is ridiculous. Crushing Prison has lost most of its usefulness as a crowd control spell with such a short duration.

I started moving the furniture around in my room again. I got as far as moving all the loose crap to one corner and my dresser to another corner. I was about to move my computer desk when I realized that with all the dust and cobwebs (where the hell are all the spiders you sneaky little bastards?) that I would never get it all cleaned up if I waited until after my rearranging. Since I don't think the rest of the house would appreciate my vacuuming at 1am, my room shall stay in its state of flux until morning when I can do this properly.

Is it just me, or does everyone seem to only play Dead Center and Dark Carnival? I haven't tried any pub games yet, but every time I get invited to a game it's always one of those two maps. Eventually I'll get around to the others. I'm glad I waited to pick it up on sale. It does have more content and more variety, but I can't seem to shake the feeling that it's just a big mod. It's well put together, but still. All the story bits they added don't seem to work very well either. For a game that is built around multiplayer, people just don't shut up long enough for you to listen to what the characters are saying. There is something about the whole thing that just seems a little off to me, but I can't quite figure out just what it is.

It took me forever to figure out that cows were nothing but a huge trap. Farming cows sucks up all your resources.

At least you didn't get punted off a cliff by a charger. I broke his fall with all 100 of my health. I think by the 3rd or 4th map I finally started to get that hand of the spitter. Distance is controlled not just by aim, but by how long you hold the mouse. My charger skills need work as about 70% of the time I'd charge into the group and grab someone, but then snag the corner of a table or something stupid that would stop my charge 10 feet from the other survivors. The jockey is just not me however. A few more rounds till I get the hang of the maps and I think I'll be able to do a little better.

Hey! That cheese knife is actually a pretty awesome dagger! But that lock wasn't pickable either. >_> <_< >_> Where did I put my Butter Knife of Balduran...
-
Cone of cold will do it for a couple seconds. If you check the first screenshot you might see the "Blizzard" notice.

I'll give you the point about Wynne. You only really need the first healing spell and your mage should have that before leaving Lothering anyway. Your point about the forest being faster is right on. It definitely doesn't take nearly as long to go through the forest as it does the mage tower simply because of the Fade area in the tower with all the backtracking to get the stats and forms. If you try to work things out peacefully I'd say the forest is much easier than the circle, but that final battle can be much more of a pain than the big fights in at the circle.
-
Why the elves first? Going to the elves first doesn't give you anything other than experience. Why not go to the mages first? The circle gets you a healer and all the upgrades in the fade.
-
People complained about the trial scene? It's even better as a bard when you have perform ranks.
-
I haven't used Cone of Cold on my current normal run, but on easy you can almost permanently keep a revenant frozen. It'll unfreeze just before the cooldown on the spell ends and shouldn't get more than one, maybe two attacks in if he's lucky.
-
Do you have any sustained spells active?
-
Also I had 2 exams Monday and have a third today. Then I need to finish up my presentation for next Monday and have and economics assignment finished for the 2nd before I'm free for two weeks before my first final. I'm so very tired...
-
So should we just reuse this one?
-
Why do I even bother. I don't know, because all you have shown is that Volo was right. He said people were going through with a solo rogue, not that they had already done so.
-
If your mage is taking hits, you're doing something wrong, no? Not if you're an arcane warrior. Grab as many sustained spell buffs as you can and wade in with the heaviest armour you can find.

I've mostly been playing Shattered Horizon for the past couple days since I got a guest pass. I'm leaning towards picking this one up when the pass runs out. It needs some work, but the base game is pretty good. Also, you get shot from above and below a lot.
