5970 X2 anyone?
-
*points to his previous post which you obviously hadn't read* I'd say that your post didn't exist when I read through, but the 7 hour gap is a little hard to explain away. Instead I'll just say that you forgot/didn't include .

The game is only $20. The open world is pretty meh, but the boss fights are neat and the storyline is totally nuts in a good way. I bought it for $40 and felt it was worth it.

Why does this thread lack Hell March? And no Baba Yetu from Civilization 4?

I still don't understand why people use this as an argument. There's nothing stopping you from using the TV as your monitor and using the 360 wireless controller if you can't use KB/M on the couch/whatever you sit on. The problem is the setup. The living room is not a work area. The 50" may be great for gaming, but it's not a work monitor. I don't know anyone that would be willing to drag a full tower around just to use the big ass TV for gaming. It's possible, but it's not convenient. Comparing a 19" monitor to a 50" plasma still isn't fair. A $1000+ TV versus $100-300 monitor? When you start tossing in comparable display set-ups, PC gaming can get quite expensive compared to console gaming, but I still wouldn't trade my dual screen solution for a larger single screen.

... Why do I imagine you as the reverend from the Western flicks that says "Blessed be thy name" then pushes over the podium and starts shooting?

Third edition? EDIT: Damn you one bar wireless connection!
-
Posting from school. I'm using the wireless network, but I've only got 1 bar in the classroom. Giant concrete box is apparently not very good for signal strength 0.32 down/0.11 down

I'm running it on Windows 7 64Bit RC with a Radeon 4870 at stock speeds.

Well that didn't go so well. Installed the demo and went to try it out. First issue was the game crashed on start up. Would only run in Windows 98 compatibility mode for some reason. This went away about the 5th time I started the game. Second issue was the graphical glitches. Huge artifacts all over the screen. Couldn't get a screenshot for some reason, but it looked kinda like this. Catalyst Control Center reports my graphics card never hitting more than 64C during a race. That's only 6C more than idle. Deleting the graphics config file didn't help the issue. Third problem. I apparently don't know how drive. I don't think there was a single corner that I managed to get through without hitting something be it car or wall.

I don't know about the ships, but Spathi themselves are pretty awesome. "Are you prepared to die?" "Yes. Spathi are always prepared to die. It usually goes like this, *ahem* OH NO! THE PAIN! PLEASE HAVE MERCY! NOT MY CLAW! OW! NOOO!"
-
I feel pretty bad when I get beaten up by groups of Spathi ships. Of course I would have been fine had I been watching where I was going and not rammed that planet...

I was doing research for an article and had to create a dudeShep in Mass Effect. I spent as much time watching the unskippable cutscenes - there are seven - as I did running through Eden Prime. Yeah, but Mass Effect came out in 2007. Totally different from a 2008 release. *runs away* I've gone old skool with my current game. The Ur-Quan Masters (Star Control 2) runs quite well on my netbook.

Are people generally impressed when a player injures another during preseason? I guess he could remove the pre from season, but it seems like a pretty safe statement from Kor there. I think these things through too much. No matter what you say, Volo is going to argue with it. I suspect he would have less of a problem if "anyone" was changed to "most people" or "very few people", but I doubt he'd be fully satisfied unless someone actually comes up with some real proof no matter how much we think the general hockey audience isn't impressed by concussing an opposing player in the pre-season. Also: Montreal got thumped 6-1 tonight.

I never played any of the others, but Loom looks about the same as I remember it. As for the Jedi package, be warned that not all of those games will work properly on modern hardware. Dark Forces works well as it's apparently using DOSBox. The most recent game also works, but the rest of them have issues ranging from no music (the game still looks for the music on the CD, which you won't have) to outright crashing. I wish I could find the article I read that explained things in better detail.

I have been hearing about JA2 for almost a month in this forum, and I still have no idea WHAT THE HECK JA2 STANDS FOR AND WHAT KIND OF GAME IT IS!!!!!!!!!! Pleasehelpme..... Jagged Alliance 2. It's a turn based strategy game focused on squad level combat.

Heh. Nice friendly bunch of neighbours you've got there.

Soldier/Biotic is Vanguard. Sentinel was Biotic/Tech and my personal favourite class. Played that run with Tali+Liara and the ability to just repeatedly spam abilities was nuts.

I always did that stuff in the older games so it interesting to see them officially include it now. I'd occasionally get other skaters to come after me, but they wouldn't do much other than bump into me. I don't think I ever had them react to late shots before though.

No demo (before release) according to the FAQ sticky on the Borderlands forum. 5th point.
-
Yeah, you got more than half of my life on that one. I'm pretty sure I went down to at least the 30's if not 20's on that one. That second and third level was just horrible. I lost track of how many times you guys managed to land a pounce on me. I almost managed to clear out your team with my tank in the airport though. Another second and I would have managed to get that rock away.

By pirating a game? Of course not. Yeah, no, you are still a thief. I recently traded in my 360 for a PS3, but I really wanted to keep playing Saint's Row 2. I guess I could have stolen the game off the store shelf, but I decided to buy it instead. You know, because that isn't illegal, and it also supports the developer whose product I enjoyed enough to play more than once. Considering that Steve just came in here I hope this doesn't run afoul of the board guidelines, but here goes. I was thinking about this issue on the road today and was wondering if you could give me your thoughts on the matter. Format shifting is something that has become an issue lately in the music and video spheres where people want the ability to purchase their content once and be able to play it on whatever device they have at hand whether it be a stereo, dvd player, portable mp3 player, computer or what have you. Other than the obvious (downloading a new copy, need for a modded console) what is the difference between format shifting like this and downloading a copy of a game that you own so that you can play it on a different platform (Own on 360, want to play on PS3)? As for the original topic of this thread, I'm currently in between games. Left 4 Dead still gets some play every couple days with some friends, but I haven't gotten into anything else since I finished my run of the BG series. I just picked up the Metroid Prime Trilogy so I'm considering going through those games again, but I haven't decided yet. I'd kill for a console and a copy of NHL 10 though...
