My sentinel ended up with the following skills 3 ranks of Throw 4 ranks of Warp (Heavy) 3 ranks of Tech Armor 4 ranks of Overload (Heavy) 2 ranks of Cryo Blast 4 ranks of passive skill (Guardian) 3 ranks of bonus skill (swapped it out several times. Ended with Slam) I was running with Garrus so I upgraded his ammo skill to level 4 and gave it the squad ability. I was playing on Hardcore for what it's worth. I'm not entirely sure, but I think the area abilities might have been a better choice over the heavy versions. Being able to remove the defences from multiple weak enemies and then following up with an area throw or similar to take more enemies out of the fight faster. Will have to test further on another run. Cryo Blast was an afterthought because I didn't have enough points to max anything else out. Except maybe for those that have the Collector Rifle, why would anyone pick up the Assault Rifle skill? Doesn't it replace the SMGs which seemingly never run out of ammo? I grabbed the sniper rifle and never looked back. I didn't need a slight upgrade at medium range when the SMG worked just fine burst firing with the occasional biotic or tech ability thrown in for good measure.

It's not just you. It comes up as an example every time the inspiration for Quarians is talked about.

I don't like the open face N7 helmet. Didn't like it in the original and I don't like it here. The breather version isn't bad though.

At least it isn't as creepy as the recon hood. The metallic chin piece deforms when you speak. It looks like they are still moving the chin as your character talks, but the solid part of the mask is the bit that stretches.

Makes that two of us, I enjoyed it as well. 3 people.

You can't get to level 60 in one run, but 50 is quite doable, even without the bonus XP from the level 50 achievement. I never said you could max everything, but by level 50 you have more than enough points to max out 8 of 13 abilities, two of which are conversation skills that don't require any points in ME2, just actions. Looking at ME2, you get 50 points IIRC. That's enough to max out 5 abilities. Main characters have 6 skills, 7 if you grab a bonus skill. Neither game will let you max out everything. I'm not arguing with there is or isn't less choice. I just don't think that there is as much of a difference in the end state as some people would have you believe. Nether game will let you max out everything, but they both do have enough points to get everything that is worth getting.

Is there a reason you left out Spectre Training, the Conversation skills and the passive Class specialization skill (for both games)? Also, Sentinels don't get pistol training. They get some bonuses from their class skill, but that's it. Looking at my last run, I've got Throw, Lift, Barrier, Decryption, Electronics, Bastion all at Master level with Charm, Shotguns each one point away and Stasis at Advanced level and Spectre Training at Basic. I've got enough points to max out, or nearly so 9 of the 13 skills. If I continued to level 60 I could bring Charm, Shotguns and Stasis all up to Master level. I don't have any other characters that high right now to check with, but you get enough points by the end of the game that most characters will end up the same way, even if they took different paths to get there. For the record, my character is a level 51 Sentinel just about to beat up Saren. No new game+ One system has fewer skills, but that doesn't really translate into fewer choices if you have enough points to max out everything useful in both systems anyway.

Never saw the codex entry, but I thought it was pretty obvious even without.

I find that the more I play the game, the more disappointed I become with the lack of interactions. The only places that anyone seems to actually say anything is on their loyalty quest. There is very little interjection into PC conversations outside those areas and absolutely no random conversations with the exception of the Tali/Garrus elevator speech, that I was able to find. It's like walking around with a bunch of mutes. To hell with all the calls for more weapons, armour and all that crap. I want squad interactions dammit!

Upgrade the ship There are specific "instant deaths" for each ship upgrade not done. o O (hmm, hope that doesn't count as a spoiler) Oh, and do the loyalty missions for each squad member of course I'm not sure if squad gear/weapon upgrades actually change survivability or not... Pay attention when they talk about what people need to do. Sending a biotic to do a tech specialists job is not a good idea. Will:

Edmonton stopped the losing streak! I repeat, Edmonton won a game! 4-2 over Carolina.

Just keep playing. Not possible to miss it.

This has been posted a couple times now. As long as you don't mind the names, it has over 100 saves ready to go.

Well, they can also charge valiantly towards certain death on their own. But it's better than ME1. Also, it's infinitely more stable than ME1. I haven't had a SINGLE crash, and I can't remember any bugs, either. BIO really got their act together in this respect. I haven't had much in the way of game breaking bugs. Everything about the quick bar in my game seems to be broken. Trying to drag things up there screws up, trying to reorder them screws up and trying to remove things gave me my first Windows 7 BSOD. Most of the bugs I've run into have been things like walking on air or climbing objects that shouldn't be climbable. I ended up on top of one of the 7 foot tall plant pots in Archangel's base once when trying to use it for cover. An ally tried to use the same piece of cover and I somehow teleported on top of it and couldn't get down. It feels kind of sloppy to me. Everything is there and it looks nice, but it does have some issues, the controls being one of my sticking points.

Spoil me. I've just boarded the after doing all loyalty missions, and I've explored available part of the galaxy. What would be different had I done that mission straight away? Things went pretty good for me and I held off that mission until I had done absolutely everything. From what I heard, the part where you want to be quick is

I've run with Tali for most of my second playthrough after getting her ASAP. It made me smile whenever I heard it. Maybe I should go buy that space hamster... What? Shep's room has it's own bathroom?! How did I not notice that? I've put over 50 hours into the game across two runs so far and hadn't noticed it. As for the second part, I just finished my second game. First time through was as a soldier, second time I went sentinel. Both on hardcore. I'm not sure if I want to move up to Insanity. Hardcore feels about right. Enemies don't seem to have huge amounts of health and use their abilities fairly well. Stepping out of cover will get you killed if you aren't quick.

They needed more conversations like that in the game. Each character had a fair bit of dialogue, but it was limited to very specific areas. There was maybe half a dozen moments in the loyalty quests where I remember the secondary character actually saying anything. It was pretty disappointing.

Get your facts straight before you start calling other people pansies you little sissy girly man. Real men don't need your overcompensating LMGs and bullet time. They just charge head long into battle and don't stop punching danger in the face until everything stops moving. Then they give it one more swift kick to the balls just to make sure. Makes me wish there were melee skills to this game. There are upgrades that help even if there is no specific skill. One gives +25% to melee damage dealt, one give -25% (or was it 50%?) to melee damage taken. Tech Armour would probably be a good skill for anyone that wants to try it because of the shield explosion knockback effect. And Melee isn't freakin' useless like in the first game. It actually hurts people in this one. The insane knockback isn't there so you can't just keep knocking people over, but you can punch a lot faster now. I could take a husk down from full health with one, maybe two hits in return.

For the first question: Ammo powers can be a big help. Disruptor can shutdown mechs for a second or two. Inferno ammo can light enemies on fire, organic enemies will panic and stop to put out the flames. Fire also disables Krogan and Vorcha regen. I would assume cryo ammo can freeze enemies, which would then be prone to shattering. Never used it myself. The other types don't seem to have any extra effect. Also I take back everything bad I ever said about Throw. 1 second cooldown time is amazing against husks. One shot the armour with the hand cannon then throw. By the time you shoot another one, throw is ready to use again. Or you can go with the area effect version, wipe out all the armour and throw them all at once.

You missed out on Blake as well. He was part of the Giguere trade. Your offence has been pretty much gutted. Stajan, Hagman, White and Blake were 4 of your top 8 point producers. So when is Burke going to pick up someone that can skate with and feed the puck to Kessel?

For the love of god yes! Why can't we turn those damn notifications off?! Not just the "Press F to end", but "Left click to launch a probe" and all the other idiotic messages that we really didn't need to see once, let alone a billion more times.
-
But if I'm using my weapons to debuff them, sooner or later I'm going to need some more ammo. Sometimes the easiest way to kill something is just to shoot it in the face until it dies. Haven't really got too much use out of the synergy aspects so far, mainly because I've neglected the Biotic characters on this run. I haven't really run into any situations where I think "Man, I really wish I had more biotics around!" It's usually "Why the hell doesn't concussive shot work on enemies with armour?!" You need more ammo. The little number under the crosshair is a percentage of a shot. When it reaches 100% you get to fire it off once. Don't stand too close and make sure you've aimed it well.

It only sometimes works against enemies behind cover because you can't manually designate a target. Anything in the open gets slaughtered as you stand behind your own cover and shoot around corners.
