  1. Oblivion is already broken as it is, though.
  2. DS3 only problem was one of perception, I think. Everyone was expecting a Diablo clone when instead it's really a Secret of Mana clone. In any case I'd say its combat design is the best in any PC action RPG I've seen. The only real fault it has is ranged combat, as the aiming is problematic.
  3. Fire your friends. Get new ones.
  4. ASUS P5QL PRO Intel Core Duo 2 E7400 6 GB Kingston DDRII667 RAM PNY GeForce GTX460 OC 1Gb GDDR5 ASUS Xonar D2X Canton Movie 60CX Speakers OCZ SSD Vertex Plus 120Gb Samsung 320GB SATA2 Seagate 1Tb 7200 RPM S-ATA2 32Mb Samsung 19" 923NW Gamepad XFX XGear Dual Reflex Cyborg V.5 Rumble Pad My first SSD means WOOSH!!! And the new gamepad means improved family gaming. Also, it's a 360 gamepad, for those pesky games that don't support other gamepads.
  5. I installed an SSD recently, as my OS drive. Windows 7, with Steam and my sound card's control panel starting automatically, now boots up in 50 seconds. Saves and loads in games are generally much faster, too. Space is really the only issue.
  6. Sorry. I wasn't attacking Americans. That Blazing Saddles bit fits any country.
  7. I'm not excusing anyone, I'm noting what I perceive around me. I certainly had plenty of opportunities and, generally, a bountiful life. Most right bastards I see around me certainly see themselves as good people, despite being racists, generally xenophobes, homophobes, drunks, chauvinists, etc. As for people in America: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_prsgZnPMQg
  8. It's important to remember that politicians are carved from the general population block, especially in a democratic state. Politicians are as good as the people that vote for them. Not true, good people are had all the time especially when we're told lies. I will say this is my opinion, just as you have yours...trust me I wish it was the way you feel. Most people aren't good. Mostly due to a lack of opportunities, education, or a difficult socio-economic environment. I don't think people aren't fundamentally good or bad, but social constraints make sure more people turn out bad than good. As I look at people around me, I'm getting increasingly disillusioned with Democratic government. Mostly because strong leaders are necessary, at least from time to time, and I don't think democracies breed those without severe limitation of the election process, or some massive external factor to make the selfish choice the best choice for a country.

  10. Finished my latest playthrough of Alpha Protocol, and started the Dragon Knight Saga. Good RPG fun. After that it will be Metro 2033, Call of Pripyat, New Vegas and Darksiders. Eventually I'll buy Arkham City and Deus Ex and get on that.
  11. Trollhunter A Norwegian found footage documentary where three college students following a professional hunter of trolls find actual trolls. Pretty damn good.
  12. That sounds beautiful.
  13. The original Leisure Suit Larry is being remade and Al Lowe got the rights to the IP back. YAY!!
  14. It's one of the most easily taxable products in the world, as it's already so ridiculously overpriced.
  15. Soda is a horrible, horrible thing and by far the unhealthiest thing in a fast food menu.
  16. What's important about Alpha Protocol is the design not the trademark. Sega doesn't have the rights to branching narratives.
  17. DS3 was my best purchase of the year easily.
  18. People are still playing it on Steam, though. And there's DLC coming.
  19. While Daggerfall was randomly generated, a lot of Morrowind's content was so bland, it might as well have been randomly generated.
  20. He's trying to forget his ex-wife.
  21. So you haven't seen the NOOO! yet at the end of Return of the Jedi?
  22. I was thinking more of movies in the Airplane! lineage.
  23. The last spoof movie I really enjoyed was Hot Shots 2. After that everything was almost painful to watch. Scary Movie 3 has some nice bits, though. David Zucker directed it, and George Carlin and Charlie Sheen were in it. Some of the scenes spoofing Signs were funny.
  24. "Rest well this night, for tomorrow you sail for the kingdom of Daggerfall."
  25. There is that 20 minutes of (the same) gameplay , but done in HD on Youtube. (Depending on your settings you might have to manually set it to 720; I let it load all the way before watching.) IMO the modeling is great, but [parts of] the game look like its all made from "painted Styrofoam". (And the menu UI is almost as bad as Witcher 2.) Well, as I expected that didn't look very good. The only thing that I liked was the ability to dual wield weapons and magic. The one thing I didn't expect was the UI being worse than Oblivion's. I'm betting this will just be a shallower Oblivion.
