  1. Not the publishing but the actions, situations, and motivations described inside it could be called any of those things.
  2. It sounds like you are saying the dispute lies in whether what he wrote is true or not. I see no reason to think that it isn't true, so the question, from a technical point of view, is more whether what he is doing (deliberately undermining the President) happens to be prosecutable in some way.
  3. Yeah, it came the day following the CE items Yes, I already got confirmation this is how it's supposed to be. However, my CE is still on the way. By the way, are you happy with the poster?
  4. I'm shocked and appalled that a blatant treason is cheered in USA this way. It's crazy how people don't understand that everything they do to Trump is not a one time thing. It creates precedent for every next president. Well, it's not like this is the first time it happens. When a President was privately found unable to his job, someone stepped in in this fashion, so precedent isn't really an issue. This basically only happens if a president becomes, or is, in some way incompetent. The cases I'm specifically aware of are Nixon and Wilson, but I wouldn't be surprised if this has happened with other presidents. Still, you are right. This is, effectively treason, and the justifications provided in the opinion article are ridiculous, to put it mildly. The bit about bright spots was especially galling. They say they are putting their country first but, essentially, they are doing the exact opposite of that. They are clinging to power a little while longer, while knowingly risking catastrophe, both in the US and in the world.

  6. Has anyone here gotten a cardboard poster tube from Obsidian, separate from other items?

  8. I lived most of my life in Portugal but now I live in Sweden. I mostly moved because job security and wages in Portugal are crap. Also, if I'm going to pay high taxes, I'd rather get something for it. I live in Göteborg, which is a fine city with lots of nature around. It is great for kids to grow up. The big downsides of living here are the weather and the food. Mostly the food, though. If you want to eat cheaply out the options are pizza, kebab and hamburger. You can eat some good, not Swedish food, as long as you are willing to pay a lot of money.
  9. Apparently, the rumor is that he was chosen mostly on the basis that he once said that, in his opinion, the President cannot be indicted. I have also read that he is not at all a sure thing on repealing Roe v. Wade, despite his being comfortably on the right side of the political spectrum in his opinions. I'm thinking that might be something they're just saying to appeal to the Senators that aren't firmly in the repeal camp. In any case, this is an obvious victory for the GOP, assuming the senate doesn't manage to muck things up with the confirmation.
  10. Clarence Thomas is certainly more conservative than Alito. In any case, thanks for the input.
  11. I'm really curious to know what Guard Dog thinks of the GOP getting an ultraconservative judge in the Supreme Court.
  12. As long as South Korea can hold on, Germany is going down.
  13. Except for the fact that they cut out some of the context which completely alters what I said.... The part that they left out is the most important part too, irony but this is the forums after all, I would expect no less. Is that better?
  14. By ancient Roman standards that's a pretty short golden age.
  15. What about if someone feels like shaking their fist at the slow, unwitting demise of the US as a global power? Might it help then?
  16. "Trump is an evil, orange, senile dodo"? I don't feel like it helps.
  17. It was clearly a penalty. From one angle it looked dubious, from another it was obvious.
  18. Well, it was a great and fun game to watch, despite Portugal's best efforts to be dour and slow throughout most of the game. Spain was good in general and Portugal's third goal was good. I can also commend a couple of good Portuguese counters in the first half. Still, balls to the wall excitement, and the match made me believe Portugal can keep on being negative, and getting by by the skin of their teeth. Like in 2016. It's like Portugal might become a new Italy, only with worse defending.
  19. Yeah, it's a shame because I always like Holland. They're a great team to watch and they love to spice things up when drama hits the field too (see their many confrontations v. Portugal for example). :D Ugh, don't remind me. The only year I got really into football I had a huge flamewar with someone here over that match where they were literally ninja-kicking each other. Was it with me? I can't remember.
  20. I find amusing how so many still don't understand that Trump is really different from everything that came before. Just his attitude towards trade, for instance, has clear potential to tank the country's economy in a way that would make the sub prime crisis look like a walk in the park.
  21. What makes Carter worse than Trump?
  22. Who are those three?
