Coming from the team that made the shallow Dead Space, I'm not expecting something worthwhile. I dunno, if they went for as dumb as possible, yet very self-aware, it could work.

I wonder how Dante's Inferno is going to turn out.

Then I think I will pass. If they are going for a Jason Bourne-lite approach, play style, setting then I can play many other watered down games like that. I was hoping they were going to take the setting, atmosphere and subject seriously. Scratch one more game off my list. I'm trying to figure out how you jumped from "more lighthearted than Deus Ex", to "Jason Bourne-lite approach, play style, setting." Just because a game is more lighthearted in tone, it doesn't necessarily mean it's dumbed down. It could be a satire of the spy genre, for example.

This seems like it will be much more light hearted than Deus Ex. Probably won't take itself half as seriously as Deus Ex did.

Civilization still screws me like that, once in a while. It's definitely the game I've spent the most time playing. I have to keep it off my hard drive, if I want to get stuff done.

One that KILLS the whole MMORPG genre?

How are you playing it? Through dosbox, or are you just using the command line?

So you would also want a film noir style 1930s detective story? The graphics could be Sin City style and you could be a detective solving mysteries and having gunfights with thugs. But not like Mafia, it was good, but this would need to be more detectiv-y. I think it should be more adventure-like with less shootouts and more holding people at gunpoint. If guns are to be used, it should be in short "one hit kills" style. And one melee hit to the back of the head would knock out everyone. Also, it should be real time. Like one night where everything goes south for our detective.

MotB's ending wasn't disappointing. Its ending was exactly what the game told you it was going to be.

Every RPG that Obsidian does, from now on, should have its own rules system, specifically designed for it.
