  1. Agreed. That should rile up the fanbois. It would be like hurling a bucket of chum into a shark tank.
  2. They're saying it'll snow in Chicago for the NFC game. Maybe that means it will be another big game for the Deuce. Even with Grossman's improved play, I think the Saints are too hot to stop right now. Also, I really, really hope the Colts win. Not just so Manning can get his Super Bowl ring (which would be nice), but just so I will be able to turn on ESPN without hearing about Brady and Belichick, the golden gods of football.
  3. The Twilight Singers (featuring Mark Lanegan) - Live With Me SPIN.com is hosting an mp3 of this song on their "Hey, this is awesome" feature. You all should go download it, because it is very, very good. And because it is free. LINK!
  4. No, you won't stop! No Use for a Name - Not Your Savior
  5. Haha, that was a great verse (stanza?). The Rancid portion of your little binge was nice too. Ben Folds - Not the Same
  6. Hmm... Pharmaceutical companies are creating new drugs that aim to mimic the "good" effects of marijuana by hitting all the right receptors in your brain. At least I think so... Neat fact I didn't really know, but makes perfect sense: nicotine consumption raises the level of dopamine the body produces - thus making ciggs addictive, 'cause the body likes its dopamine.
  7. Maybe if it were legalized, other less-rebellious people would be more willing to use it. Which would lessen the "hippie" connotation. Which would be a good thing for smokers who don't like drum circles and haven't mastered the art of hacky-sack. @Kor: My ex-roommate had a lot of money. He spent it all on Phish bootlegs, Bonnaroo tickets, and lots and lots of weed. That would lead you to believe, "Oh, he's a hippie" but not so fast! He tends to vote Republican and majored in Finance. Real hippies would see through his tie-died shirt and love of the Dead to see the filthy capitalist underneath!
  8. I suppose in '86 he was on top of the world. That reminds me, I was playing MJ's Moonwalker the other day on a Genesis emulator -- because I rock -- and I love how they start the game with the scene from the "Smooth Criminal" video where he flips the quarter into the jukebox from across the room. Anyway, I might watch Beautiful Girls this week. A co-worker loaned it to me, and I'm looking forward to it.
  9. GREAT link, Surr! I read that Bowie, Sting and Michael Jackson were the three stars considered for the part of the Goblin King. Could you imagine Jacko in that part? Although I think Sting might be worse, Mr. Tantric is just so bland. Ugh...
  10. The Velvet Crush - Keep on Lingerin'
  11. But is it as good as this Labyrinth?
  12. I'm sorry for your loss.
  13. Ted Leo & the Pharmacists - First to Finish, Last to Start
  14. Fountains of Wayne - She's Got a Problem It's like I was saying in the iPod thread, sometimes it's just nice to have something tangible. I like browsing through the budget bin at any CD shop, looking for a gem to add to my collection. edit: I believe Kor's got a thing, and that thing is called radar love.
  15. Yeah, I picked up the album for five bucks used this weekend. Although the three songs I knew stand out, there are a lot of other quality tunes on there. Son Volt - Moonshiner That's a nice lunch break tune right there. Good rootsy, acoustic music. Dude, I love the bass lines in "Watching the Detectives." Great song. cut to baby takin' off her clothes closeup of the sign that says 'We Never Close'
  16. Anything with Greg Dulli or Ryan Adams in it.
  17. Played some Smash Brothers with my nephew yesterday. It's been a few years since I played it, but I still have that magic touch with the baseball bat. Although it pained me, I even let the little whippersnapper win a few times so he wouldn't get too whiny.
  18. Comedy Central has been playing Napoleon Dynamite pretty much all weekend, so I'm guessing over the last few days I've seen most of it. I saw it a while back when it first came out on DVD, and although I'm not about to buy a "Vote for Pedro" t-shirt, I do believe it's better the second time, and maybe the third.
  19. Fountains of Wayne - Survival Car
  20. Whatta kick. Well, it's Bears vs. Saints next week.
  21. Did you guys see Reggie Bush get piledrived into the turf? Holy cats, that was a hit!
  22. This thread has taken a Patriotic turn... something that won't happen in this weekend's game, when the Chargers take Tom Terrific to the turf! Alliteration is fun!
  23. Sure, he could do it. Just let him arm himself with Tank Johnson's arsenal.
  24. Yeah, those one-liners were great. Cab driver: You owe me $10 bucks. Gimme the dough! Ah-nold: Bucks? Doe? Vot ez all dees zoo-o-logical talk ahhbout male and vemale ah-nimalls?
  25. Razorlight - Up All Night A co-worker loaned me their first album for the day. So far, so good.
