The Worst Game Endings
Yeah, the fact that they let you give that little nancy-boy what he deserved was lovely. I don't remember what the dark side ending for JKII was, so it must not have been good enough to make an impression. And somehow I skipped from Dark Forces to Jedi Knight II in my Star Wars gaming and missed the first Jedi Knight.

Yeppers. How can you sully the good name of Bono so?!? I guess somebody won't be renting an apartment at the U2 Tower. Which is good, because that will leave more luxury apartments for the starving children he's always going on about... right? Townes Van Zandt - Two Girls mmmm... I like it.

Florida Gators National Champions
The Gators sure showed they belonged in the title game. The Buckeyes were sluggish on both sides of the ball, and I have to think that 51-day layoff between games really hurt them (I believe Florida had a 39-day break). Either way, kudos to Florida for socking it to the Buckeyes. Also, mucho kudos to Boise State, the only undefeated team in college football, for presenting even more evidence that a playoff system is needed.

I did think ATYCLB was a very solid U2 album. They were great on that tour, too. Didn't like the new one as much though. Minutemen - Dr. Wu

driving down to the barrio, goin 15 miles an hour cause i'm already stoned Man, it's been forever since I listened to Ixnay on the Hombre. First punk rock album I ever bought. What was that, '97? Another convert to the greatness of "Web in Front," eh? Also, Kor, I never would have picked up that Jayhawks CD if I hadn't heard a certain song... so you're just as responsible as I for the discovery of "Save it for a Rainy Day." Minutemen - Maybe Partying Will Help Early knee-jerk reactions/thoughts: I really didn't expect it to sound so... funky?

WHAT ARE YOU EATING RIGHT NOW?!
I'm drinking a cup of lukewarm tea at my desk. I made it probably a half hour ago, but I kind of zoned out and forgot about it. In a little over an hour, I will partake in "Free Lunch Monday," one of the greatest morale-boosters in the corporate world.

Inventor of Ramen Noodles dies...
There were few scents as pervasive as microwaved Ramen. That smell could linger in a dorm room for days... especially if your roommate never cleaned his "Ramen bowl."

NFL 2006 Season
Bummer about the Jets. Bigger bummer (for me) about my alma mater losing the first bowl game its been in since '68. Ah well. National championship tonight... go Buckeyes!

What album is that off of, Drabs? The Posies - Definate Door <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's off the new EP, A Stitch in Time. It's been available on iTunes for a while, but I think they just recently released a hard copy. Spiderbait - Black Betty The video is a highlight film for Ohio State receiver Ted Ginn Jr. Somebody put this song (and Andrew WK's "Party Hard") with the football clips to make their own little Ted Ginn mixtape.

True, but I like sped up drunken Irish folk songs. That's the difference. I like Bad Religion too, and you know they've been writing and recording the same song for 20 years now. :D Mashup alert! The Twilight Singers/Massive Attack - Live With Me This is the original video for the Massive Attack song, paired with the music by Dulli, Lanegan and company. Once their version finishes, the original song fades in for the rest of the video. I posted the original vid a while back. It's the one where the girl gets really, really drunk by herself.

I suppose you could say listening to Interpol, Joy Division, or any of those gloomy post-punk (or gloomy post-punk revival) bands makes me feel like stabbing...my self... in ... the neck. * italics read in a monotone not unlike the entire Interpol record. I tried Joy Division after hearing about how they were really cool and influenced all these cool bands. Obviously it's just my POV, but they suck and they spawned a bunch of terrible bands that suck even more, because at least Joy Division was being original. Interpol deserves their rep as a knockoff (excuse me, throwback), although I've heard the newer album has a more original sound to it. The Pogues - The Broad Majestic Shannon edited for a typo that was actually quite funny, in a linguistic sort of way.

NFL 2006 Season
Picks... this week it'll be a shootout between KC and Indianapolis. I think the Colts will finally pull it together just to lose in the next round to Baltimore. Seattle and Dallas could also go either way depending on which team actually comes out to play. I'll pick the Cowboys because they're healthier. The Eagles are rolling and will embarass the Giants in the first round. The weapons of NOLA's finest will prove too much in the second round, however. Another Belichick/Mangini showdown? The Jets have been lucky to get as far as they have with their talent. I'll be rooting for them, but I don't think they will pull it off again. I think all the teams with bye weeks will win their divisional championships. San Diego will be out for revenge in the AFC championship. Will there be another vintage McNair fourth-quarter comeback? I don't see them keeping LT out of the end zone this time, but Rivers has been rattled and we all know the Ravens can bring it. Bears vs. Saints: Grossman will turn the ball over, and the Chicago defense won't be able to outscore the Saints. My super bowl pick: Saints 24, Ravens 14

Yeah, I managed to catch it too. That song is great, but you could tell he was getting out of breath. Also, I think getting off the drugs must have rekindled Dulli's appetite. Cause he's looking sort of, you know, fat. Frank Black & the Catholics - Everything is New

Don't worry Kum, I'm sure Volo thinks you're cool too. I mean, didn't he call you cute earlier? Sooooo.... who's gonna the first QB selected in the draft this year? From what I've been hearing, the consensus is Brady Quinn from Notre Dame... who is not looking so successful right now in the Sugar Bowl. Troy Smith has the Heisman and more wins, but Quinn has the classic NFL QB build and skills. Now, I think somebody needs to draft that Zapansky or whoever the guy from Boise State is, because that dude is a gamer. Did anybody see how ridiculously hard and well he played against the Sooners?

NFL 2006 Season
I think Steve Smith is an incredible talent. He puts so much effort into getting that extra yard after the catch, and he comes up big against guys who are much bigger than him. Carolina is a great example of how a great receiver can be useless his QB can't spread the ball around. It was painful watching Weinke toss pass after pass at Smith, triple-coverage be damned. They got the right idea in that game against Atlanta, where they threw like seven passes all game.
