  1. The good news is that Dungeon Siege III is nearly flawless in every other aspect, so I can't imagine them having to work on much else. It's not like Brink or Hunted where its such a buggy mess they're going to spend months trying to figure those out. I don't think I encountered a single bug or glitch, so maybe they're working on the camera issues now.
  2. It's only embarrassing if you weren't playing on Hardcore
  3. ? You can active the beadrcrumb (or whatever it's called) on every version of the game. My bad didn't finish the sentence. Was supposed to say something in regards to which button to push, such as D-Pad up on the 360. Not sure what button it is on PC.
  4. Depending on which system you're playing on, you have the option of toggling the quest helper that will display a golden trail to the objective. This should lead you right to the vent.
  5. Great review bud. Glad you guys are having fun with it. Hopefully they address the camera soon, its really the only thing keeping the co-op from being completely amazing.
  6. Now that keybinding for PC's is here, i'm going to start doing my camera fix dance. Cmoooon camera fix
  7. It would seem like no for some and yes for others, but i'm not sure. I know when you gain your first couple levels the mercenaries go from ouch to a joke. But that could also be the fact that you're getting better gear also.
  8. Gah I missed it. So mad at myself. I got dragged into helping someone gut their storage for a yard sale until 10pm last night.
  9. Yeah I didn't expect to see camera changes yet. When they come, it will be glorious indeed...
  10. Not additional XP, but if you decline a reward for every quest in the town you'll end up with a Deed for it. Deeds grant permanent stat bonuses, and can be found under the Deeds section in the menu.
  11. +1 "The world that forgot how to be" Sounds awesome to me. I'd love to learn more about the land below the Causeways.
  12. I noticed that too, there is something about Dungeon Siege 3 that is very compelling and addictive, probably smart intense combat accompanied with good animation. I will say Fear 3 was one of the most intense shooters i've ever played. Many heart-pounding segments that kept me on the edge of my seat (seriously, my leg went numb). Coupled with great coop and some really awesome multiplayer modes. Highly recommend this game, ignore the negative reviews try it. Shadows of the Damned is a grindhouse version of Resident Evil 4. The main character is actually pretty funny and the banter between him and his gun Johnson is hilarious at times. The 3rd person shooter mechanics are tight and the game is fun. It's just really really weird.... Gundam 3 is another DW game with Gundams. And with this one, if you're not a huge Gundam fan the game makes no attempt to explain what is going on in the universe what so ever. This game is almost entirely fan service, and thats not bad if you're a huge Gundam nut. If you're not into Gundam, pass on this one. BTW Combat is solid and theres a ton of Gundams to acquire and customize, just very very repetitive gameplay (more so than any other game I can think of right now). I have a unique access to almost the entire xbox 360 library and I can take any game I want at my leisure. Theres even a ton of games I want to play through, but I can't stop playing DSIII even though i've already beaten it. Playing as Lucas on hardcore is so amazingly satisfying. The way his combat works is just beautiful. Not to mention I find his dialogue the best, and its so easy to get behind Lucas Montbarron as he quests to rebuild the Legion his father once commanded. Pretty cool in my opinion.
  13. That makes sense. I'm all for additional zoom levels in any way they come really. Although personally, just adjust the MP camera to be exactly like the SP camera and i'll be eternally grateful.
  14. Let me start by saying I like this game. I never played Dungeon Siege 1 or 2, but I think I probably will. I think my major complaint might go unnoticed, simply because I'm a fish out of water here. I LOVE RPG's, but I don't like games with the 45-degree angle sky cam. It literally makes me feel claustrophobic that I can't simply *look up*. It's infuriating. I seriously dislike that I'm always staring at the ground. I want to see where I'm going. I want look around at the scenery. I am really hoping for a mod or a patch that includes the ability to look directly forward over my character's shoulder. I'm assuming there is no sky written into this game, so I'd understand if I couldn't look directly up, I just want to see more of what's in front of my character. After Knights of the Old Republic II, Neverwinter Nights 2, and Fallout: New Vegas, I trust Obsidian to make a fun game, but I don't think I want to play this game anymore until my desired camera angle exists, whether it be community made or an official patch. I've already took a stab looking at the .ini files, but there is nothing in there that would facilitate me fixing this on my own. To avoid starting an argument about this, let me be clear - I don't want the original camera angles taken away from those who already enjoy it. I simply want an option for a more flexible camera that would enable me to look straight ahead. Even if you don't believe you would enjoy using this angle, I assume you would understand that there are a number of reasonable human beings who would. Furthermore, by restricting the possible camera angles available, Obsidian is in turn restricting their sales. I don't see any reason why a 3rd and 4th zoom option couldn't be added. You can back up to a non-transparent object and the camera will drastically zoom in right next to your character, so this is possible it just requires the code to do this. I'm with you actually. Obviously you probably can't drop it to a true 3rd person view like Gears for example due to the fact that there is probably no sky. But why can't the angle just be shifted to somewhat closer angles that allow you to see further down the field of battle? No complaints here man. I'd love a few more zoom options.
  15. Have you ever heard of a game called Sins of a Solar Empire? One of the first patches for that game was a camera fix. I'm not saying it has never happened or never will. But I think Obsidian had a good reason for not including separate cameras for everyone in co-op in the first place, and it wasn't to screw with the multiplayer fans. I see the logic in the current camera. Its so in coop you can see everything your buddies are doing in the midst of combat, and with 4 players it is quite impressive to watch. What doesn't work in practice is the camera jostling around just because your companions are shifting position at the extreme edges of the screen. This effect can actually trap you in the middle of an open field simply because the other characters are tethering the camera in the opposite direction. I'd rather chance missing some awesome move my buddy is doing, and instead not die because I couldn't dodge the 14 lightning bolts the boss is chucking at me.
  16. The first and only fix so far was the PC keybinding issue because its a huge one. Even though I'm playing it on 360, i'd put PC keybinding as an issue above even the camera that effects everyone. Simply because the console guys (me) have a dream control system, and the PC guys have a very wonky control scheme that most would like to change. So i'm totally happy that its the first thing being fixed. Now the second thing, should definitely be the camera.
  17. Hmmm... I doubt any kind of DLC will be released like that for this game, but I have to admit that it would be pretty damn awesome if it was, heh. Modes like NewGame+ and Arena are easily designed and easily implemented. There is little to no story to write and only a small fraction of existing code would need to be modified. And I am sure if the asking price was reasonable a lot of fans would pay for them. So that would be a payoff vs. man hours. Little work for more money. And the other dozen ways to simplify the business concept. Think about it... as a Lead Producer you answer to higher company positions on budget management and maximizing profit potentials. Would it be more profitable to release products that require little in the way of production costs? OR Would it be more profitable to risk a large project that costs a considerable amount of money to design and develop, which could possibly fall flat? Yup Arena needs no story what so ever. Just give me some space for my buddies and I to endlessly crunch baddies wave after wave.
  18. I wouldn't say DSIII is lacking in features, as I don't feel its really lacking anything. I do wish it had one or two more options for play however. Like one more mode of any type. I really love the 4 player coop in this game and all the enemy types. It's ripe for some sort of alternate game type. Even a DOTA like tower defense mod would be really cool, if only you could have more than 4 players.
  19. I tend to agree with you. While I loathe loading of any kind, i'd much rather have a world like Fable where its decently large and involves loading screens than a smooth as butter no-loading game thats all corridors. Although I have to say DSIII's campaign and maps are beautiful. I just prefer a much larger open world. I don't see why Obsidian can't do it with this game and this engine though. Some area's are fairly large enough, and they'd just have to open them up a bit and add more. Clearly they have a top notch QA team to make sure everything works and is bug free, this is one of the least buggy games i've played in a bit.
  20. Fully agree with this. Seems like they are only aware of the lack of keymapping because of user fury/complaints. If DS3 had a more-or-less conventional control and required less key combinations to work, that would have been less of an issue. Anyway gameplay experience will be certainly much improved when the patch is here. If they fix the PC controls and the camera, they'll probably be a decent surge in the online community for all 3 platforms. Even though I don't have trouble finding games now and I prefer to play with my buds anyway, it's always good to have a decent online community. And we all want the camera fixed anyway.
  21. Man i'm itching for some DLC for this game. I've been picking up many random games lately (Fear 3, DW: Gundam 3, Shadows of the Damned) and I find myself just wanting to play more Dungeon Siege. Although Fear 3 is amazing I must say. Shadows of the Damned is really good too, and very funny. Just not a game for children, not even a little bit. Annnyway. Yeah please come on with the DLC. While I hope mostly for an arena i'm willing to bet its a traditional DLC, and i'm fine with that. I just want more Dungeon Siege
  22. I'm all for options like this. I've noticed some recent games like Child of Eden even have a beginner difficulty where you are invulnerable so you can just experience the entire game. I'd also like to throw my hat in the harder than hardcore difficulty. I'd love an even greater challenge for me and my buddy to tackle.
