Awesome! that game will scare you all the way to the very last 5 seconds Interesting is that is the game I was playing when one of my old 8800s died out, and then EVGA sent me the new card, which I used to finish dead space, before selling the card to you. So your card must feel very familiar with that game lol I have been playing Dead Space for PS3. It was pretty scary for the first few levels then I had my fully upgraded plasma cutter, which along with the slomo ability, could pretty much handle anything. After that the scary factor mostly went away. I liked the zero-G environments and that boss battle in Zero-G. A great game. Also Unitology seems to be a deliberate jab at Scientology. haha.

Are the genders set with the origin too? Looking at the screenshots, it doesn't seem to be the case, but I could be wrong.

This might be common knowledge, but I just logged on to Steam and Left 4 Dead is 50% off at $24.99. I suppose this is a good time to get it.

Yay, I have a PS3. Really looking forward to God of War 3.

I've always just pushed my date back whenever I get a summons. I'll go next time I get one though. Have to experience it appreciate how much it sucks. Plus, maybe I'll some time to play on my DS.

Drats, I wanted to play as a human barbarian. I've been on a Conan reading spree lately. Though an evil destructive mage also sounds like fun.

I don't get it, are Llyranor and Nick brothers? Lovers? The same person?

Good luck. Hope you finish what you set out to do.

I saw a flyer on a bulletin board at school last week. It was looking for research assistants at Aperture Science. At first, I thought it was a weird coincidence until I noticed that the flyer said that all assistants would be provided cake. Obviously its a Portal joke, but I wonder what happens when people not familiar with the game call the number that was provided. Hmm...I'll have to do it tomorrow.

The game does look solid and no doubt I'll enjoy playing through it. I like the quick switch between 3rd person view and isometric. Its what I always try to do with NWN2, but always feels slightly awkward. It looks more fluid in Dragon Age. Looking forward to it.

Well, at least you can party all night and still go to work. Wish I could still do that.

Where are the pics with the major babes Walsh?

I want a dog too. Too bad I'm allergic. I went to classes, hung out for a while with some friends and now I'm home doing homework. Exciting life I lead at the moment.

I thought my computer was overkill. But I bought it more than a half a year ago, so it must be outdated by now.

The new Batman game seems pretty interesting.

I have no idea who you are. You should be glad for that.

Another massive Eve Online theft.

So people are actually account managers of virtual currency inside a virtual gameworld? Why play a game at all? -
Played Force Unleashed over the weekend. Enjoying my PS3 very much. Things I liked about it: - When it works it works. Picking up objects/stormtroopers zapping them with force lightning and then throwing them into more enemies is awesome. Overall force powers are well depicted and easy to use. - Graphics are great and voice acting is pretty good. - Story is good, though it seems a bit too short. It does shed some new light in the events between ep. 3 and 4. Whether that's a good thing or bad thing is up for debate. Things that are annoying: - Camera: The game works well when there is a long stretch of corridor before you with plenty of things to throw. Then gripping things with the force and using force powers is a joy. But if you are surrounded enemies or in a large area, they can attack you off camera and that gets annoying fast since you have no chance to evade or block. Also there isn't a good indicator from what direction that attack is coming from so it takes some time to locate and counter-attack. The wouldn't be so bad were it not for - No recovery time. When you get hit sometimes you get knocked down. Then you proceed to lie on the ground for what seems like an eternity. You can get hit while you are lying down. Also enemy attacks seem to hit you right when you standing up (from off camera) making you fall down again. This is a pain and annoying. There should be a recovery animation, or a quick roll out of the way move, or stand up really fast move. - Close combat feels like a joke. Why does it take multiple hits with a lightsaber to kill a lowly stormtrooper? I want it done in one quick slash. Blocking and counter-attacking feel slow and unresponsive. Lightsaber combat is not what it could have been. I don't think I've seen anything better than Jedi Knight 2 and Jedi Academy so far. Why is it near impossible to grip a enemy if he is standing right in front of you? - Because the targeting is fickle. Sometimes what you want to grip and what you actually grip is totally different. Not good when enemies are attacking relentlessly. Plus the gripping controls seem unresponsive. Ok, I gripped something I didn't want. Why is there a pause before I can regrip something else? (Maybe that's just me.) - What's with the loading screens that I have to jump through just to upgrade my powers? This wasn't even an issue it previous gen. This is annoying and feels sloppy. - Level design was pretty bland. Don't get me wrong, the levels look nice. Its mostly just point A to point B though. And did you have to make us go to the same planets more than once? More variety would be welcome. - Why is everyone so clumsy? Enemies trip and fall over small boxes, limbs flailing all over the place. Its funny just to watch sometimes. They come running then proceed to trip over stuff. Ok, it doesn't happen often, but it is noticeable. Also why does my character get stuck on little roots and stuff and can't move? Collision detection is wonky. - Much too short. It is a enjoyable game despite my quibbles. But definitely not worth retail price. Good for a rental though, which I did.

That makes no sense to me. You say you believe homosexuals have the right to marry... then you vote for Prop 8, which amends the California constitution preventing homosexuals from marrying. You say that denying homosexuals the right to marry is the "moral equivalent of holding another human being in bondage", and yet you voted for that very thing, denying homosexuals the right to marry. I'm pretty danged confused by your position at this point. Could you clarify? I don't want to turn this thread into a prop 8 discussion, and so I will limit my answer to say that you misread my previous post. To say that denying homosexuals the right to marry is the equivalent of slavery or disenfranchisement is laughable. Other than that, I've spent a lot of time stating my position regarding prop 8. I merely point out that at least one person who voted for prop 8 did not do so based on religion. I guess I might be alone. So were you voting for because disagreed with the overturning of 24 by the CA supreme court? I'm just curious and Prop 8 was interesting. You can just point me to the thread where you wrote your stance and I'll just read that as it seems you really don't want to write down your entire reasoning again. I don't see any reason why same sex marriage should be banned. Same sex couples are happy, it doesn't negatively affect anyone else in any way. So why not?

Yay, another religion/atheist topic. I don't have any strong religious belief personally, although I was raised Christian and then Catholic. Then I turned 15, didn't want to wake up early to go to church and I was too big for either of my parents to force me out of bed. Thus began my descent into disinterest in religion. Hmm, I'm not sure what I classify as. I don't believe there is any sort of malicious/benevolent supreme being up there in the sky, watching to see if we are faithful to him/her/it/whatever. I don't think it all ends when we take our final breath either. Will it be heaven or hell or reincarnation, maybe just darkness. Personally I'm a big fan of reincarnation. Hopefully I stack up enough good karma to be reborn as a human again, or maybe some alien, 600 years later and then I'll go space exploring, if we haven't all killed each other off by then. I thought I was an atheist for a time until I had the thought that atheism was kinda like religion except they have faith that there is no God. I was only sure that I would probably never know, that no one on this planet would ever truly know what came after death. So being the easy going guy that I am, I decided not to worry about it and just enjoy life. And if I'm wrong and there is a God, I'm sure he'd understand a questioning (lazy in my case) mind. I imagine having a nice long chat with God if he/she/it/taco pooping icecream really does exist, on why things are the way they are, what the purpose of it all is and why they made a KoTOR MMO instead of K3. Until then I'll work towards helping people out regardless of what their personal beliefs are. Yes, I realize that this thread is about the real world consequences of belief/religion and disbelief/atheism and how it affects everything, but I'm too sleepy to think about that.

If you had to leave right now, what would you take?

Why are we leaving? I think the event that causes us to leave would impact our decision on what to take. -
Planescape's 10 year anniversary...

Definitely one of my favorite games. I remember first seeing the trailer for it on the IWD game disc I think? I had no idea what it was or was supposed to be so it didn't interest me at first. Only later after enjoying BG and IWD so much and discovering that it was based on the same engine and rule set did I actually go out and get a copy. I remember playing as a fighter first and although I enjoyed my playthrough, I didn't think it was anything special. Then I went back and played as a mage with high intelligence and wisdom and I was amazed at how much depth there was, how much more the story opened up and how much more you could accomplish. Up to that point, my game experience was mostly blasting aliens and monsters with guns (aside from Infinity Engine games which totally changed my gaming interest direction), so the experience was unique and awesome. As for a remake, I don't really want it. I think the game is fine the way it is. I think even a graphical update would be bad. There is something about the backgrounds and animations that add so much to the game. I think PS:T's graphics have aged great, and they do a better job at conveying the atmosphere than any 3d engine (if it was remade in 3d with polygons) could. Though I appreciate the technical and sometimes awe-inspiring graphics of today I think sometimes the games loses a lot of its character when everything portrayed is as close to the reality as possible. -
I thought ME was rather bland. Its a good game, but it lacked character. All I really remember from ME is the endless barren planets with the cut and paste caves/spaceships/missions. I kept visiting all the optional planets hoping I'd run into something interesting, but all I got was the exact same cave or building or spaceship with the exact same layout and mysteriously all filled with boxes of stuff. I usually play Bioware games multiple times, but nothing seems to be pulling me back to ME. There were some interesting tidbits here and there and I liked the choices that you made along the way concerning fates of NPCs and such, but it doesn't merit starting a new game. The main storyline was enjoyable, although pretty short. I'm looking forward to the next installment because I want to see how the massive lurking threat will be dealt with. I'm also hoping for less planets with more things to do on them.

I was the luckiest guy this Christmas as I scored a Wii and a PS3 from my girlfriend and family respectively. So naturally I've been playing some PS3 and Wii games. I played through Uncharted: Drake's Fortune and thoroughly enjoyed it. It felt like Tomb Raider done right, with some entertaining combat, characters that grew on you, simple yet entertaining puzzles, a fun story and great platforming(hardly no camera issues at all). Definitely worth the rental. I also went and played through Metal Gear Solid 4. I'm a pretty big fan of the series as it brings back fond memories of playing as Solid Snake on the NES. I also like the overly complicated, hard to follow and entirely too convoluted story that doesn't really seem to make much sense. Its over the top and preachy and there's pretty much nothing else like it. I was a little dissapointed in 4 though. It basically felt like MGS3 except prettier. The combat was clunky. The maps were pretty flat. Snake still can't jump. And the combat was really clunky. Gods, the combat is clunky. It may be that I'm not used to using controllers to aim in first person view, it seems to take forever for Snake to turn while aiming and I increased the sensitivity and turn rate to the max. Also why couldn't Kojima and team implement some kind of fluid cover system that would be handy while sneaking and combat? I understand that its primarily a stealth game, but there are parts where combat is unavoidable and Snake controls horribly. I felt myself missing the control options I had when I played Uncharted. A simple button press to press up against some cover. Another button press to lean or peak out from cover and another button to fire. Another quick button press to instantly jump to other available cover if I got flanked. MGS4 seemed a lot more cumbersome. But I did enjoy it. I found the stealth portions really fun like trying to using the octo-camo to completely blend in to the surroundings. Sneaking up on people and knocking them unconscious. Shooting them in the head with tranquilizer darts or rocket launcher while hidden... all good stuff. There was also a lot of stuff for people who played previous games and I felt good old nostalgia washing over me throughout the game. Also the last fight is awesome. Also great boss battles, especially the latter ones. It was frustrating then extremely fun figuring out how to fight some of the bosses. Overall a cool game that I'll most likely replay. I'll probably play some Force Unleashed if its ever in the rental store.
