Why I think all girls need to be on meds...
Azure79 replied to TheHarlequin's topic in Way Off-Topic
Seriously, the mystery of quantum physics might be the key to understanding women! Go write a paper Walsh and win the Nobel Prize for Physics and Peace at the same time! The women will be all over you then. For your big brain of course and not the cool prize money. -
Why I think all girls need to be on meds...

I tried Meshugger's strategy once! Didn't work for me . I guess I'm not handsome enough. Maybe they could sense that I didn't really have a girlfriend and I was trying to trick them. Women and their intuition. I think women feel better if a guy already has a girl. Shows that some other girl has deemed the guy worthy of her attention so he can't be all bad. So they try to steal them away. Sneaky ladies. -
Wow, Purgatorio looks cool. Does it take place in Sigil, or a different location within the Planescape universe?

I found the slow 180 turns extremely annoying in the previous RE games and earlier Tomb Raider games. Its the main reason I never finished any of them back then. I don't think I could stomach it in a modern game. I don't think making the control clunky to challenge the player is a legitimate form of game design. Give the player spot on controls and make the enemies and environment challenging please.

Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword is great. The stylus controls were intuitive and the game plays really fast and fluid. I personally like New Super Mario Bros, which is fun in little bursts between work/classes. I also liked Super Mario 64 on DS. I thought it played great and brought back some fond memories. I've played two of the Castlevania games and those are always fun, though they start to feel the same after a while. I found the Phoenix Wright games enjoyable. I liked yelling 'Objection!' along with the game.... I'm not a great fan of JRPGs myself, but I've always heard that Chrono Trigger was great, so I am playing now. I have to say it is pretty enjoyable. There are no random battle sequences that jolt you out of the map so that was a huge plus for me. Enemies do respawn constantly, but you can avoid them if you're quick enough. The characters aren't too annoyingly cliche and I find myself liking Crono and his friends. The gameplay/battles are actually pretty fast, and you can combine each individual character's special moves into dual tech moves which are fun to watch and are over quickly. The story is a pretty standard save the world from the GREAT EVIL, but with the time traveling and history changing that goes on, it has been really fun. I would recommend it.

I'm looking forward to the new Batman game. The new trailer seems pretty fun.

I liked Bioshock. The atmosphere and how the story unfolded were great. I just turned off the respawn pods and that took care of that.

So list all your manly deficiencies here. I am somewhat of a slob and can function perfectly with clothes on the floor, dishes piled up, unmade bed etc. This does not sit well with the women in my life. I prefer not to talk unless I really want to say something, and sometimes answer questions with a grunt, head nod or shake. This also drives my girlfriend crazy. My eyes will drift towards other attractive women even when with my lady friend. This usually earns me a kick in the shins or a punch on the arm.

First it was "If God didn't want men to be homosexuals he would would've made women easier to deal with." And now this little pearl of wisdom. I think there's no point in being miserable in a relationship. I remember the first girl I dated. I was under the huge misconception that she was perfect and could do no wrong while I was a bumbling imbecile just lucky to be in her presence. Needless to say I was stressed out and miserable. It didn't help that she had some weird emotional ups and downs. Eventually I came to my senses when she dumped me. So getting dumped isn't all bad. At the least you have an excuse to go our drinking with your buddies. But there are some good ones out there so keep trying. My current lady friend is cool. She buys me video games, plays them with me and lets me play alone. It helps that she computer engineering major and a technophile. Of course she drags me to learn how to ballroom dance too...but its not that bad. I know how to waltz now.

EA Admits 'We Didn't Make Hits' in 2008

Didn't they make this game for the SNES? Without the naked coeds though. Bikini Coed Full Contact Football sounds like a great game though. -
I really don't think they're doing it for the ending. The ending of the game was a lead-in to the next game. The epilogue is just an excuse to throw some more gameplay out. Totally. I thought the ending was great and is definitely a lead into the next game. I enjoyed the overall gameplay, but it got really repetitive later on. They should do away with the collecting light orb thingies and just concentrate on continuing the player on through awesome new environments. I miss the combat from the previous trilogy too. I don't know why there were so many complaints about that. I don't know any other game that allowed for such acrobatic combat utilizing the environment and the enemies themselves. The combat in the new series just seemed like an overextended quicktime event. Boring. I tried to restart FO3, but the thought of wandering around the entire wasteland again was boring enough for me to stop. It was fun the first time though. I'm really in the mood for a nice meaty RPG. Too bad Dragon Age was delayed. Its just the type of game I would like to play right now. Maybe I'll try Drakensang, if reviews are good.

The art direction really doesn't bother me too much. Just as long as it meshes well with the overall gameplay and atmosphere I'll be fine. I've enjoyed all of Bioware's games so far, some more than others, but they've all been great games. Really looking forward to sinking my teeth into this one.

agreed, but there is a limit on difficulty, after which a game becomes tedious and not very fun. ranting time!! There are two basic archetypes of players, those who see games as a challenge and enjoy difficult games, and those who see games as entertainment and just want to relax and have some fun. Between those two runs a stepless scale where each of us fit in, the position on the scale depending on mood and other circumstances. There is a tendency among the challenge players to look down upon those on the other side of the spectrum. Some dont even realise there are other types of players. I think that the players who enjoy challenge are in the minority. You don't see many games as unforgiving as in the old arcade days (or even now, like Ninja Gaiden) I'm somewhat in between. If I really like a game I will try and play through all the difficulty levels just for the sheer fun of it. I played through Master Ninja Mode in Ninja Gaiden because I enjoyed the overall combat. The difficulty seemed to increase accordingly with your increased skill level so although it was challenging I didn't find it overbearingly so. I also played through God mode on God of War, just because the overall gameplay was great. Most games though, I just play through on normal setting wanting to enjoy myself more without any unreasonable frustration. I'm past the days of screaming and controller throwing/keyboard bashing.

I watched the movie Idiocracy a few days back, it seems more and more like a frighteningly plausible future with stories like these.

Yah, I found igni the most useful and powerful. Save your silver and gold talents for it.

So will we able to fight all the people in history he runs into down there?

Because you would most likely die?

Conservative "Mass effect" Blogger Ruterns...

Yeah, this guy seems way too fixated on sexual acts in video games. -
So certain team members are yelling at other team members because of a perceived lack of talent? And some people put up with that so they can hit a ball over a net back and forth? I don't get it. Then again, I've never been too emotionally invested in sports. I used to enjoy facing off against another person and trying to kick and punch them in the face, but now I'm just content to sit on my ass and watch movies and play video games. Now, I'm depressed.

I'm just looking forward to killing off the Greek pantheon. I'm guessing those will be the boss fights. In 1up's preview it says you will rip the head off Helios and use it as a flashlight. I think this a chance for the devs to get really creative in how Kratos overcomes the various gods who granted him powers in previous games. I like to see established stuff being turned upside down. I found God of War fun because the combat was so fluid and it meshed well with your magic abilities. Also the setting and atmosphere were great. I still remember in GoW 1 when I crested that staircase and I caught my first sight of Ares, a huge giant, in the distance, crushing and stepping on the opposing army. Yeah, its just plain fun. I wish they would port the PSP game to PS2 or maybe make it available for download later in the PS store.
