  1. I thought Shepard died from asphyxiation when his life support systems gave out and he/she was drifting in space, hence the gasping and wheezing noises in one of those trailers. So instead of burned chunks of flesh, maybe they needed to re-build his brain/central nervous system.
  2. Have you been setting up trade routes? I had the same problem at the end game, with my party of 4. I had a weapon master, mage, ranger/rogue and spirit shaman I think. After dying too many times to count, I noticed I had a lot of money from the trade routes. So I went to the store, had my mage stock up on all the high level spell scrolls that were available and went back. A couple of Wail of the Banshee and Greater Missile Storms later, everything was dead. A cheap way to win, but I really couldn't figure out a pure strategic way with my party composition and was getting frustrated with the whole thing.
  3. Dragon Age and Batman for me. Overlord 2 was also fun game. I think those were the only three games I purchased during the year, excluding the current Steam sale buying frenzy that I'm on. Looking forward to next year for Alpha Protocol, Mass Effect 2, the new Prince of Persia game, Starcraft Wings of Liberty, Fallout New Vegas...maybe Batman AA 2.
  4. This Steam sale will be the end of me. So far I've purchased, Sands of Time - Still looks great with the widescreen patch and at high resolution. Warrior Within Two Thrones Prince of Persia 2008 Ghostbusters Torchlight - GREAT FUN Trine - Also really fun DX Invisible War The Void - Thanks to certain forum members recommending it A Farewell to Dragons - Played for about an hour and half. Feels really like BG1 with a little bit of Diablo(random, color classified items) and although the translation is a little strange at times, I'm dig the steampunk-fantasy setting and am curious where the story will lead for Victor, the main character. I'm pretty sure by the end of it, I will have bought Gratuitous Space Battles and other stuff.
  5. I saw it in 3D on a late show. It was pretty good theater experience. The best character is that crazy old head of security. I was sorta rooting for him at the end. I giggled in delight when his mech suit pulled out a knife.
  6. Bought myself the entire Prince of Persia collection. The Sands of Time games are some of my favorites and I'm looking forward to the new PoP they have coming out set in the Sands universe. I also liked the 2008 PoP, but not as much. Looking forward to playing through the Sands trilogy with the widescreen patch. Also bought Torchlight, Trine and Ghostbusters. Thinking of picking up Deus Ex Invisible War and Thief, Deadly Shadows.
  7. I was thinking of how choices made in the first game would lead into the new origins in the sequel. I think it would interesting if one of the origins leads from your PC's sacrifice at the end of the first game. You wake up in the royal crypts somewhere, with your life somehow restored, which is part of the mystery you have to unravel as you play through the game. Your origin could be something like, "Living Dead" and most people that run into you will fear you as some kind of abomination. I'm sure the PCs face is well known as a hero throughout Ferelden. You could have Chantry undead assassins come after the PC, since they think your corpse has been possessed by a demon.
  8. Too bad the PC version sucks. I would have thought by having access to a keyboard, you could pull of force moves a bit easier. I always felt like I had to press too many buttons to do anything cool in the console versions of the game.
  9. So I guess this is a I would have rather have liked to see another Jedi Knight game with Kyle Katarn, with deadly saber combat and easy to use force powers, but that's just me. EDIT: Just saw the trailer. Seems like my earlier guess is wrong.
  10. @Bos Hybrid I really like your origin idea. I think it would make an interesting place to start the game. I also would like a more personal story as I find those types of adventures more entertaining.
  11. I always thought your name is Alan S. Chu.
  12. I got Dark Athena when it was 5 bucks on Direct2drive. If you haven't played Escape from Butcher Bay, I would say get it. The Dark Athena add on is not that long and pretty forgettable. Unless you really like Butcher Bay.
  13. Has anyone tried pickpocketing extensively? I wonder if there are some interesting items hidden away on NPCs somewhere. I'll have to max pickpocket sometime and try it out.
  14. Well you never see them. Unless they're all hidden away feared as unnatural horrors. Seeing as how most of the inhabitants treat one another in DA, its probably not far off.
  15. With all the inter-racial loving going around, its a wonder there are no half-elves or half-dwarves or Dwelfs (half dwarf-half elf) around.
  16. Definitely a great game. I also really enjoyed the combat to the point where I did the challenge maps, something I don't normally do on other games. The combat only gets better as you go along because Batman get access to some nifty gadgets that can be seamlessly integrated into your combo. I love using the upgraded batclaw and the multi-batarang in the middle of my combos. Its not all about pushing timed button presses either. To be really effective you have to be careful where Batman flows to next because he might end up in the middle of 3-4 baddies that attack at once. I usually used a circular pattern going from one baddie to another, trying to keep the main group of baddies in the center of the circle. It gets interesting when you're in a group on regular enemies, ones with knives and ones to stun batons. You have to think fast and either evade or use an attack that they are vulnerable against. I'm really looking forward to the sequel, hopefully in Gotham City. I hope there are segments where you can play as Bruce Wayne, trying to keep a low profile while completing objectives.
  17. I haven't tried a 2H warrior, but there are two items in the game which boost your constitution immensely. Along with the Blood dragon armor (+50 health) wouldn't that offset the frailty the 2H has? I remember that +attribute items seemed to be cumulative in DA, so wearing all the items together will give a significant boost to health while strength is pumped up. I was going to try this nest time around.
  18. I just encountered him on my 2nd playthrough on hard. I thought he'd be really hard, but Alistair and Oghren just hit him, my mage healed and pew pewed with the staff and Morrigan did the same. It was a little dissapointing.
  19. All of those depend on your mythos - hell, even Dracula only used one, maybe two of those and it's often cited as the base of most modern Vampire stories. You mean they might not have a weakness to garlic? Damn, I thought I was safe because I love me some garlic.
  20. Purchased KOTOR, because I miss that game. Downloading Brotherhood of Shadow mod that I've heard so much about.
  21. I'm getting sick of vampires. Whats so cool about monsters that combust in sunlight, can be killed by wooden stakes, have garlic allergies and are totally ineffective for half the day. There is a reason they hide. They would be annihilated by humans. Werewolves FTW!
  22. I'm trying to make a dual wield fighter with some sword and shield talents. I'm trying to go for a fighter that dashes in, does WW and Dual weapon sweep for damage to a lot of enemies and then switches to weapon and shield to stay protected while using shield bash, etc, while other dual wield talents recharge. I think with the books that give skill points it be viable.
  23. I also find the entire waking nightmare path very useful throughout the entire game. Sleep is incredibly useful against enemy archers in the distance.
  24. Come on guys, I'm trying to digest my Thanksgiving dinner here.
