  1. Yeah, I thought the Droog were great as well. Very non-generic race as far as fantasy goes. I believe it was confirmed that the Krug were extinct in one of the previews. I'll try to find it. They are extinct according to a magical door in the Gunderic Mansion. So I wouldn't say its 100% that they are never to be seen again or couldn't be brought back. Oh, the Rukkenberry Pie door! I totally forgot about that. Yeah, I guess it's not totally confirmed then. Thanks, C2B. @ hopfrog - Here's the scene.

  3. I agree that the camera needs to be zoomed out a bit more. DS1 was steampunk though, so I don't see the lore rape here. It's been a hundred years since DS1 and Stonebridge has grown by that time so it's not a stretch to see the city as it is. I would recommend reading the timeline on the DS3 site. It sums up DS1 and what has happened since then. Really good stuff. I'd agree with you here. In fact, I think it does add depth to the DS universe because I think it places Goblins into a more serious role. After all, the technology that humans have been getting has been because of the Goblins. Hopefully other DS races that were prevalent in DS1 (since the games DOES take place in the same kingdom) will have more of a roll, as well. As for what games are superior, it really depends on taste, since they are all very different... I'm partial to the first 2 games, though. Perhaps Seck or Droog? The Krug have been exterminated, unfortunately.

  5. Is it just the demo that's been released? I'm itching for Reinhart gameplay, dammit!
  6. 1. Agree. Combat feels a bit...floaty? 2. Consoles, unfortunately. 3. Yeah, textures are a bit blurry although a dev has said that this issue has been fixed in the final release. The lighting and spell effects are great, though. 4. I had problems with the camera but once I disabled the Autocorrecting camera, it was manageable. I would prefer the camera to be a bit more zoomed out. 5. Lucas doesn't wear helmets. Anjali does though. If you look closely, her "helmet" refers to her hair braid and yes, it changes. GPG doing DS3...well, they did do Space Siege (which I heard was an abomination to gamers everywhere). Also, having a single character is the direction Chris Taylor wanted to take the series. Meh.
  7. I can't remember what preview said this, but I believe the big theme that DS3 focuses on is idealism versus pragmatism. Maybe it's choices like this that will affect how the Legion is not only rebuilt but how it's viewed in the future?
  8. I'm in Act 2 of Dragon Age 2 and am shocked that I'm slightly enjoying it. I like the faster combat and improved skill trees but the waves and reused environments are seriously annoying me. The whole Qunari subplot is pretty interesting but I hear the game takes a massive nosedive in Act 3. Shame.
  9. It's the introduction, the prologue, the beginning. Of course that's not the best part of the story, duh. Indeed. PS:T and BG2 are widely considered to have the best storytelling ever in RPGs and they have terrible prologues (Mortuary and Irenicus' dungeon, bleh). After MOTB, I have no worries that Obsidian will knock it out of the park. In George Ziets we trust.
  10. I had this problem too, especially during voice acting bits.
  11. Man, I played DS1/DS2 back in the day. I never played online so maybe I missed out on some key experience but to put it lightly, the games were like interactive screensavers. Auto-attack to win. DS2 was a bit better in that regard by introducing powers and skill trees. That's not to say they weren't fun though. From what I've seen, DS3 corrects the issues I mainly had with the first two games: voice acting, writing, combat. I think the beauty of the game lies is their skill system, item system, open-ish maps, tons of secrets, and the excellent online. Granted the combat could be described as more passive than some of the other games of the time (I think interactive screensavers is a major exaggeration) but they were fun games that had a lot to offer. In my opinion, of course :D Oh, I definitely agree. I would love DS3 to have the open environments DS1 had (DS2 was unfortunately pretty linear and DS3 looks to be about the same. Stonebridge in DS3 looks a bit more open so hopefully that will change). The skill system seems to allow a lot of customization so far and it seems like there's too much loot, heh. I never had the chance to play online, although I imagine it must have been a blast to have a huge party of friends playing together.

  13. That's the point where I sighed a little bit, this episode had a few derp moments for me and it feels like they wanted to get a lot of stuff shown in a short time, still enjoying it all though, I rarely get into TV shows these days. It's actually a line ripped straight from the books. Some things just don't translate well to TV, I guess. I've been following this guy's reviews of each Game of Thrones episode. It's nice to see a new viewer show so much enthusiasm. I can't wait to see his reactions to episodes 9 and 10. I just think the way everyone bursts out laughing to diffuse a situation where a guy's fingers get chewed off is a bit forced, nice to know it's in the book though. The youtube reviewer is worth a watch, I like hearing regular people rant about TV shows for some reason. Indeed, the scene feels rather forced. It flows more naturally in the book. I really wish GRRM (he wrote this episode) hadn't cut the exchange between Barristan and the Council short. What a beast.
  14. Well, I had a blast playing the demo. A lot of the complaints some 360 players made (armor/weapons not showing differences, no combat physics) were utter bunk. I did run into one issue where the camera would constantly spazz out. Turning off the Autocorrecting Camera seemed to fix it though. And kudos to Obsidian for their awesome Onyx engine. It looks nice and runs nice. I don't know how but the game runs great on a Pentium 4.

  16. Sesame Street? What is this I don't even...
  17. "Your meat is bloody tough."
  18. He's been moved to Season 2, I believe. I'm really looking forward to seeing who will portray the Blackfish, Stannis, and Davos. They're probably among my top favorite minor characters in the series.
  19. I think it was. There was that gay scene between kings brother whats-his-name and shiny knight whats-his-name. Now everything is good in the kingdom once again. When you look at it that way...fair is fair, amirite? I gotta say, it's awesome seeing new viewers' reactions to the end of the episode. So glorious. Oh, and the guy playing Tywin knocked it out of the park.
  20. Good episode. But was that lesbian scene really necessary?
  21. Moar screenshots Don't know if these are new. Unfortunately, the pictures are really small. I'll see if I can find hi-res screenshots. Jeuxvideo screenshots Jeuxvideo has some new screenshots up as well, I believe. Sorry if it's already been posted.
  22. rofl @ the Assassin's Creed reference Since I can't play it yet, impressions anyone? Is it as good as the hype?
  23. I'm on Chapter IV of The Witcher and have no idea who he is. The Witcher wiki has no idea who he is. Google has no idea who he is. Witcher wiki doesn't even know anyone past Lel, thinking maybe you misspelled it. Is it Foltest's first name or something? Maybe he means Vernon Roche?
  24. Gametrailers Preview (Youtube link)
  25. So yeah, I watched a Polish livestream earlier today since it's going to be a while before I can play TW2. Man, good times. The livestreamer and the viewer's reactions to the sex scenes was gold. GOTYAY confirmed! Impressions from the livestream (no spoilers): it's gorgeous, normal difficulty looks hard as hell, combat looks great, great voice-acting and writing, great C&C And Gamereactor.no has their review up. 10/10
