  1. Just you wait for the happy/angry faces. I have a gut feeling, those will still look priceless. Ha ha, yeah. Seeing an NPC's face go from happy to angry during the speech mini-game was hilarious. Probably unintentional, heh. Speaking of which, I hope Skyrim doesn't bring back the speech mini-game from Oblivion in any shape or form. Terrible design decision.
  2. They look more than good enough for what Bethie wants to do, definitely. Actually, they look much better than they need to be. I'm just glad that Beth finally made people look like actual people this time around.
  3. If only #5 had red hair... Redhead > Blonde, imo.
  4. GRRM's own words on the matter... Lack of focus, indeed.
  5. Playing Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri for the first time. SO ADDICTING.
  6. So EW interviewed GRRM on ADWD and its "ending." Obvious spoilers are obvious. Thoughts:
  7. Neogaf has 6 screenshots up. The reception seems to be mixed. There's also a gameplay trailer but it's just the stuff from E3 without the annoying commentary. And lol @ the ragdoll physics of the falling giant.
  8. Vote for your choice of Female Shepard! You need Facebook, though. http://www.facebook.com/masseffect I like 5, to be honest. 1's all right, too.
  9. Voted for NWN2 because MOTB was just that good.
  10. It really is. Dany, Tyrion, and Jon are supposed to be the highlights of the novel but of the three, Jon's chapters were by far the most interesting. Dany and Tyrion felt a lot like Brienne's chapters in AFfC...lots of traveling, infodumping, and not a lot of progress. It's the minor character POVs where ADWD really shines, I think. Davos and "Reek" had really good chapters.
  11. Anybody else get a copy of ADWD? I have some complaints but overall I enjoyed the book.
  12. Purkake linked this thread more than once in the Books thread. I remember seeing this site a while back. Looks like it needs to be updated. When the release date was finally announced, this popped up. It's going to be another long wait, heh.
  13. I never thought it was possible but ADWD is finally coming July 12. Unfortunately, some people already finished it and spoilers have been popping up everywhere, even on sites unrelated to ASOIAF. I got spoiled and from the looks of it, it looks like what I read was true.
  14. Just beat it with an in-game time of 13 hours whereas Steam says 19 hours played (wtf?). Great game. Played as Lucas with Anjali on Normal difficulty and didn't run into too much trouble during my playthrough except for the boss fight ( ) in Stonebridge. I can't wait to dive in again as Katarina. Hopefully the game does well enough to warrant DLC and an expansion or two. Minus the one bug that I encountered in the Heroes Crypt and Gunderic Manor (most likely a hardware issue on my end), I didn't get one bug. DS3 is definitely a solid, polished Obsidian game. Kudos to the DS3 team!
  15. And I thought I was the only one who had this problem! I mainly had this issue in Gunderic Manor and the Heroes Crypt but I haven't run into it since. Playing on high settings at 1024x768: OS: Windows 7 Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3GHz (haters gonna hate) Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 4650 512MB RAM : 2GB Would love to see a solution to this though.
  16. I kind of wish Katarina looked more like this in-game. Other than that, I'm very impressed at how similar the in-game models are to their concept art.
  17. I'm still reeling over The Escapist's review of DA2. *snort*
  18. I hate to be that guy, but: All joking aside, I believe Obsidian wanted DS3 to be a spin-off title but Square-Enix pressed them to go with DS3. Meh.
  19. I would imagine they are finalising the next patch and DLC at Bethesda Well, I personally would like to see another Bethesda-Obsidian project in the future. Minus the QA issues with New Vegas (I never ran into any, luckily), Bethesda's a great publisher.
  20. Another Kevin Vanord review? Bleh. See, I don't get how people are claiming DS3's combat system is dumbed down. I really don't. In DS1, there were no skills or abilities. Combat was purely an auto-attack affair regardless if you were melee, ranged, or combat/nature magic. You could let the game play itself. So no, I'm really not seeing how DS3 is dumbed down compared to its predecessor. And honestly, I like the direction Obsidian has taken with DS3. If I wanted to play Diablo, I'd play Diablo.
  21. I don't know if your problem is related to the sound issues I've seen on other forums, but people have fixed the sound stuttering by setting DS3 to Low Priority in Task Manager. Just a temporary fix until Obsidian fixes it, I guess. Let me know if it works.
