  1. Yeah, I feel really sad for the girl. For the rest of her life she may have the idea that she is more or less responsible for the death of someone, even though objectively speaking the man killed himself by being stupid.
  2. Medicine residue causes doped up fishies to live a longer, more interesting life: "Study: Residue of psychoactive drugs in water also treat perch Pollutants in water systems are not always unequivocally harmful to aquatic animals. A Swedish study revealed that residue of psychopharmaceuticals used to treat anxiety lower the mortality rate of perch. UmeƄ University has long performed groundbreaking research on the effects that pharmaceutical drug residue produces on the behaviour of fish. A study published last year showed that remnants of oxazepam, a drug used for anxiety, resulted in braver and more curious activity among normally timid fish. Individuals exposed to the drug examined their surroundings more freely than normally." http://www.helsinkitimes.fi/themes/themes/science-and-technology/11692-study-residue-of-psychoactive-drugs-in-water-also-treat-perch.html
  3. Is there any other kind of companies? Besides the ones led by gay people. Okay well Polish labour laws must be different to other countries. I work for a large global corporation and I work for other corporations all the time and I have never heard of a company that would allow any male in that company to be able to slap the asses of its female staff. All companies have codes of conduct around this this type of behaviour and its most definitely prohibited Also its highly unlikely any women would enjoy this type of attention unless it was from there partner. The idea that you really think that most women would consider this to fun or normal amazes me? You shouldn't be surprised. Poland is very ... Let's be polite and call it conservative.
  4. I liked the first bit. Not sure I really buy the theory about Williams' comedy always being a crutch for wanting to please his mother, but it is an interesting theory. When they guy starts talking about marriage being a job though, he completely loses me. I mean, having to pay millions to your ex because you were once married to her is absurd, sure. But argueing that being a wife is a job and a husband should be able to just fire her whenever he pleases is just absurd. To be honest, he's coming across a bit misogynistic. Taking the traits of a few golddigging women and making it out as if women in general are just greedy monsters out to get men.
  5. You go on and fight the good fight, defending people's rights to insult and herass.
  6. The problem with internet and "free speech" (i.e. the Godgiven right to curse at and slander everyone while remaining anonymous) is that there is no accountability at all. I am sure only a few of the people who made those rather nasty remarks towards William's daughter about her father's passing would have dared to do the same face to face, in public. And those that would actually do that would probably have their faces kicked in by bystanders, and deservedly so.
  7. Well... And you are an abomination unto Nuggan. So there!
  8. Sorry, but I think if I really, really had to pick a religion, it'd be something like Pastafarianism. That or Silinism. Because penguins.
  9. <BruceMode> Great post Trueneutral. It's difficult for someone who is in a "normal" state of mind to understand how such a disorder affects your every single thought and every decision you make, and we really shouldn't be too quick to judge. </BruceMode>
  10. I would say that at this point the word feminism is hurting the cause of women more than aiding it. You can argue about the why of it, but the word feminism has aquired a certain stigma that is hard to get rid of. Let's put it this way, if I was championing a cause for women, say wage equality, I wouldn't call myself a feminist. I would probably get done more that way.
  11. You are absolutely right. Things just all went to hell when the Roman Empire fell over. -Sigh-

  14. I hate to be that guy, but you do realize that for example in Saudi Arabia we're talking about a country where the practice of any other religion than Islam is forbidden, and where aposty is punishable by death? Morocco is probably among the more harmless as far as Islamic countries go, but even there trying to convert people from Islam is forbidden and will result in being kicked out of the country or even being imprisoned. Saudi Arabia is by no stretch of the imagination a tolerant country when it comes to religious minorities. Some of the others on your list are, but ONLY when compared to other Islamic countries. Your list sadly doesn't really instill much hope in me for religious minorities in countries ruled by Islamic parties. The saddest example near us in Europe is Turkey, which is rapidly turning the clock backwards. Just the other day the deputy Prime Minister of Turkey stated that women should not laugh in public as it was not modest. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/turkey/10998133/Women-should-not-laugh-out-loud-in-public-Turkeys-deputy-prime-minister-says.html If you ask me, the only hope for religious minorities in Islamic countries is secular government. Edit: pruned the tree.
  15. Yes they can. And yes they have. Trought history. Learn a bit, you'd be surprised. It's populat to use stereotypes and special/singular events and inflate them to over 9000, but that's not how the world works. Irocnically, often in the past people have been more tolerant than today. There are several Muslim countries where there are no conflicts. Like Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines But at the moment the Middle East is a particularly violent place, like New conflict in southern Lebanon Civil war in Syria ISIS fighting the Kurds, the Syrians and the currently elected Iraq government Ongoing extremist violence in Yemen Gaza conflict And this excludes the sectarian violence in Libya and Egypt In fact we don't often see this but Africa has less conflicts than the Middle East at the moment philipines is overwhelming catholic. malaysia... is maybe not as great an example as you think, even though it is probable the best example. http://www.malaysianbar.org.my/selected_judgements/lina_joy_v_majlis_agama_islam_wilayah_persekutuan_2_ors_2005_ca.html http://www.themalaymailonline.com/malaysia/article/ft-disaster-looms-amid-rising-religious-intolerance-in-malaysia-neighbours http://www.frontpagemag.com/2010/rich-trzupek/malaysia-and-the-myth-of-islamic-tolerance/ am admitting we know very little about indonesia. HA! Good Fun! You right Gromnir, I don't know why I thought the Philippines was predominantly Muslim. I must have been getting it confused with Indonesia ? I would think not. Indonesia has quite a few conflicts between muslims and religious minorities. 16. The question is not "are these guys cool enough for this thread?", but "is this thread cool enough for these guys?".

  20. Reports are coming in from people who have lost family in the crash, and have found their loved ones credit cards and phones have been used after the crash. But I am sure the usual suspects will decry it all as Western propaganda again. This forum really needs a tinfoil hat emote at this rate.
  21. Not being a military buff myself, I had to look this up. I take it you mean Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses, and not the Salzburg Experimental Academy of Dance. Although I do think we'd all be a lot better off if the Ukrainian government and the separatists would just have a dance-off instead.
  22. Its horrific and must be very hurtful for the relatives. It also highlight the complete disregard the separatists have around basic human decency when it comes to these types of disasters and how you treat the bodies of loved ones. Do you know anyone who was on the plane? No, there's quite a few people from the surrounding area who were in the plane, but no one I actually knew personally.
  23. Here in the Netherlands there is a lot of outrage in the media towards the alleged plundering of the dead's possessions. Supposedly the separatists took every wallet, camera and mobile phone to be found near the crash site.
