  1. Have you seen the Paperman short? Disney came the closest anyone has to 2d using 3d software, but it still doesn't replicate the warmth and feeling hand-drawn has.
  2. Right now I think I'm more interested in a Steam Link.
  3. That the one with the illegal cloaking/phasing device? That was a sweet episode.
  4. Seems people are getting angry at Game of Thrones again for casting people who match the book description, but not the pictre they had in their heads.
  5. 3 eps into Ascension. Really liking it so far. As a CBC supporter, I'm glad there is finally something worth watching
  6. [citation needed] ...Short version? I mean, it's not like people are incapable of arriving on different conclusions based on the same facts, and I'm arguing with your conclusions, not your facts; hence, sitting through about an hour's worth of videos telling me what I already know seems... unproductive. So, after watching, the jist is that a study by a feminist ideologue found that gamers don't care about representation in games because gamers don't identify with the characters, they identify as the characters. White males had no problems playing as Princess Peach, black women had no problems playing as Kratos. Players were more worried about what their characters could do than who they were, and identity results were the same when players played pre-created characters and characters they could build themselves. Study concluded that representation isn't important in games because the interactivity essentially replaces emotional ties that are required in other mediums. 2nd video the same person applies those results to the wider industry and gamer identity. Found that gamer identity is tied to what and how people play games rather than gender and race. People who primarily play casual games don't identify as gamers. People who identified as gamers tended to play more often for longer periods, and were more into intense games rather than relaxing games. Gamers also tended to see other people as gamers if they acted the same way and didn't discriminate based on race or sex. She then took all the evidence she had collected, and proceeded to make things up and ignore her findings because she wanted gender politics to be a major thing in gaming, and her results found they weren't.
  7. I play games to get away from people. I used to do more multiplayer when I was single, but with 2 kids, gaming is my only escape from human interaction so I tend to avoid multiplayer. Soloed The Old Republic to level 35 before I got bored with awful MMO gameplay. I would rebuy at full price if they rebalanced that game for single player.
  8. To me it felt like a superhero origin movie. Not bad, but because of the work it did, the sequel should be better. Then it didn't do well enough for a sequel. Getting the good suit at the end with the name drop of OCP made me really want a sequel.
  9. I'm just waiting for someone to do Transmet as a medical drama now.
  10. http://youtu.be/75oun5gvDAU?t=9m40s
  11. About as well as Preacher with a black Tulip and no Messiah. Oh god. That made me so angry. Plus being on AMC means it won't have the swearing and nudity of the comic. Preacher is what got me back into comics after the late 80s early 90s made me quit. (Discovered Preacher late 90s early 2000s). That, Lucifer, and Transmetropolitan were my big ones. So they've screwed up 2 out of 3 so far.
  12. So it looks like instead of giving Firestorm or Atom their own show, CW is doing a "team up" show set in the same universe. This could fail horribly, or be really cool depending on the approach. So far they have Brandon Routh, Wentworth Miller, Victor Garber and Caity Lotz on board. Which is kinda odd as Caity Lotz played Sara Lance/Black Canary 1 and is dead. Making it an anthology show with 1-3 episode stories with different team ups would be kinda cool, but I don't know how well that will play out for a modern audience.
  13. The geek community has certainly lost a titan. RIP Galvatron.
  14. I'd still like a Wildcards RPG please.
  15. It'll be ok, it's not like comedies are going down the drain... *watches 2 broke girls* ...well ****. At least we still have Brooklyn Nine Nine... *looks fearfully at Fox*
  16. Are you sure? When he posted it it said something along the lines of "I don't think I'm working on this anymore"
  17. Someone needs to do an updated Captain Power, but more interactive. For those of you who don't know, Captain Power was an 80s sci fi live action adventure show, and the toys had sensors on them so the vehicles would take "battle damage" when hit by the lasers on tv. The toys had lasers of their own and would feedback to kids when it hit one of the bad guys on tv as well..
  18. Kinda miffed that Book of Life and Lego Movie weren't even nominated for best animated, as those were my two favorites from last year. Big Hero Six and How to Train Your Dragon 2 were both good, but not as good as either of those IMO.
  19. that's how Deadpool got greenlit too. I'm guessing we're gonna see a lot of that I the next few years
  20. I think I'm almost ready to call it quits on Star Wars Rebels. Dave Filoni lost his way during the terrible "lost missions" season of clone wars, and not even Greg Weisman has been able to save Rebels.
  21. I was reading an interview with the Big Hero 6 people who said since Disney bought Pixar they've been able to have a better look at how they did things, and basically took everything good they could while keeping what they figured worked better at Disney, and its paid off immensely.
  22. Its nice that board hostility pretty much ends when you exit the controversial topics. Lots of heat in these threads, then back to the lighter topics and everyone gets along.
  23. His was the first name that came up whenever casting for Namor came up. Sadly that wont happen now.
