I work in the 3rd busiest subway in BC. We're located at the main skytrain station connecting to Simon Fraser University, meaning every 15 minutes we get a busload of about 80 students coming through. We only get about 10 of those per bus, but it adds up. Anyway, the manager was too shortsighted to realize it would be crazy busy once school started, AND half our staff were students, meaning they couldn't work weekdays once school started. So now its the busiest time of the year, and if it was the slow time of the year, we'd still be understaffed. And because of that I have to get up at 6 in the morning to get to work because someone called in sick tomorrow.
I'm used to going to bed around 3am so I couldn't get to sleep at 10pm when I was sposed to to get 8 hours of sleep. Its now 3am and I can't sleep.
I have to get up in 3 hours to go to work in the 3rd busiest Subway in BC, during peak hours, understaffed.
And the assistant manager is away for 3 weeks so I'm in charge while the manager goes off to do her thing.
