Biggest nonsense you've ever seen from a game.
Oerwinde replied to Tale's topic in Computer and Console
Nothing wrong with making it 3D. Making it 2d nowadays would ensure that it would sell 9 copies or be relegated to XBOX Live Arcade. Making it first person was the bad decision. -
Jumping between Europa Universalis 3 magna mundi gold mod, The Godfather, and Smackdown vs Raw 2008.

He used to look like a tubby Mike Myers. Now he just looks like Feargus.

Biggest nonsense you've ever seen from a game.

I remember in a lot of older RPGs I would always get frustrated at the various castle levels because they were giant mazes. I remember yelling multiple times "WHO WOULD LIVE IN THIS!!?" -

One thing that irks me in the Godfather game is how no matter what car you have, enemy cars are always faster and able to run you off the road. Also, having a gang war with a family that you've eliminated, dying, and the non-existent family has bombed 9 of your businesses while you were out. -
Just finished watching Shoot 'Em Up. One of the funnest action romps I've seen in a long while. Its a rather absurd movie, but thats part of its charm.

I just saw Stardust. It was a pretty good watch and after seeing it I have complete faith in Matthew Vaughn directing Thor. It was one of the better kid-aimed fantasy movies. Its worth the watch just to see Robert DeNiro dancing around in a dress with a pink feathered fan.

On that note, a guy at work, his ex girlfriend was just brought up on charges of abusing his daughter. She has already had a child taken away from a previous relationship, and just had another child with a crackhead new boyfriend. She is currently on welfare. Anyway, people are making excuses for her being a complete waste of DNA like "she had a bad childhood" etc. which brings me to what grinds my gears: People who don't take responsibility for being a ****head. If you're a ****head, its not because mummy didn't love you enough or you weren't given enough opportunities, its because you're a ****head.

The Return of the son of The Comic Thread
Oerwinde replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Way Off-Topic
It also adds yet more proof to the MJ is not Pete's true love argument. I'm so sick of MJ being his love interest when its obvious that if he could bring Gwen back he'd dump MJ in a heartbeat. -

Its not even wanting Aunt May more than his wife thats the worst part, its sacrificing his life with his wife in order to save the life of a 95 year old woman who should have been dead years ago anyway. -
Last movie I saw was Justice League: The New Frontier. Probably the best DC animated film, and right up there with Iron Man for best animated comic movie.

Gary Gygax save vs death. roll: 1 failed save. Good luck on the higher planes.

PS3 definitely has the edge on the hardware front, especially now that Blu Ray has won the HD format war. But hardware does not a console make. 360 has the edge software wise, with both a larger library and for the most part, better games. This gap is starting to even out though, and I see the ps3 catching up much like the psp is catching up to the ds. Xbox live marketplace is also much more user friendly than the playstation store. I currently only own a 360, but will likely buy a ps3 when I get an HDTV, as you get a cheap high end blu-ray player with a free video game console built in.

My favorite episode was called The Game. First aired: 5/11/2007. In it McKay and Sheppard were playing an Ancient strategy game that turned out to be a social experiment and everything they had been doing in game, two groups of people were following on another planet. McKay's country used his face as a flag and emphasized science, with like zeppelins and bycicles and such, while Sheppards was all dark age barbarian with a large army. The entire time I was like "I want to play that game!" Also, the girl who ran McKay's country was hot.

I also figured if I have an nvidia video card, it would make sense to have an nvidia mainboard too. I was looking at an EVGA 680i board, but there were two that appeared that the only difference was about 80 bucks... http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16813188015 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...88014(available on NCIX for 240 bucks, but appears to be identical to the above, which is 170)

And this is why I asked for suggestions. Not doing SLi right now, just trying to somewhat future proof my machine. I got nearly 5 years out of my dual Xeon machine before the lack of PCIe slots made upgrading my video card way too expensive. I'd like to be able to do similar here. After this, next step is a power supply or a Raptor to run windows on. I was looking for a board I could eventually upgrade to a core 2 duo as well. So suggestions are good.

So my computer had been giving me some trouble for a while, freezing during boot and during operation. A friend told me to try removing one of my ram sticks, I did and it worked fine. She said it was either the ram or something shorted in my motherboard. It started freezing again a couple hours later, so I figured it must be the board. This was confirmed a couple hours later when a loud pop sounded and some of my capacitors blew open and started leaking. So anyway, need a new motherboard. Don't have enough to upgrade everything, but I want something decent that will last. http://www.ncix.com/products/index.php?sku...anufacture=eVGA this is what I was looking at, all I need to know is if it will work with a Pentium D. Its LGA775 so I'm assuming it will. Anyway, any thoughts or recommendations of other boards?

I was at the Canucks/Kings game last night. Disappointing end but fun watch. Not Luongo's best night.

I'm juggling Assassins's Creed and Lego Star Wars: Complete saga right now.

Saw Sweeney Todd last night. I thought it was well made and well acted but the song lyrics were awful.

I don't touch type and I found myself not having to look at the keyboard when I type either. Sometimes it means I hit two keys at once though. Its probably not the most efficient method of typing, but what works works I spose.

Sequels you wish were being made

The difference between the PS3 models aren't as drastic as the Xbox equivalents. I mean, you can easily replace the hard drive yourself since it's a standard 2.5" drive anyhow. The size of the hard drive doesn't really matter because of that. Then there are ports (card readers and USB) that differ but they, too, are of no dramatic consequence for the user (card readers are not used in games and who cares if there are two or four USB ports?). I would be much more annoyed to have bought an Xbox 360 without a HDMI port.. The biggest difference between the PS3 models is probably that one model supports PS2 games and the rest don't. In Sweden there have only been two models for sale anyhow: The 60 GB model and the newer (cheaper) 40 GB model. What I think Microsoft failed with the Xbox is that they didn't have a hard drive in all their models. That means all games must support the core version and NOT take full advantage of a hard drive. in the US the 60gig is no longer available in favor of the mighty 80gig (comes with motorstorm.) Theres the 40 gig one too.
