  1. Since they said that they are literally designing the different versions side by side, it's pretty obviously going to be the rusty ol' DX9.
  2. So you do pirate sometimes? Well, now we're going into "I wonder how long until the moderators step in" territory, but I think you can guess the answer to that. Don't worry, even the guy who pretty much admitted to being a pirate and calling for other to pirate AP didn't get banned.
  3. Oh please, Achilles, I've wasted enough pages on you as it is.
  4. Looking at Australia for a second, I don't think the majority of the public cares or even understands the issue. You'd have to actively campaign against it for anyone to actually grasp the implications.
  5. Aww, I was looking forward to a dystopian future where the evil megacorporations control the internet and "internet pirates" would actually be bike messengers with a bunch of flash drives
  6. There are more important issues to worry about than video game legislation. And I still don't think that celebrities should get involved in politics.
  7. But Yahtzee is in Australia, seems kind of weird that he would promote an American political thing.
  8. I did, not so much anymore. It's certainly a fun little time sink.
  9. So, umm, he sold out?
  10. Good thread A+, would read again.
  11. Yea, Minecraft is pretty tyte.
  12. Now tell us how you really feel.
  13. You fail reading comprehension so I'll repeat... I said impulse lets your back up/install your games off line and thats the service I use. However civ5 REQUIRES you to install and use steam. Never said I use the service for anything else. Which I don't. Does not keep me from pointing out the flaw I see in it however. Speaking of reading comprehension, maybe you should read the requirements a little more thoroughly before you buy games.
  14. I'm not saying I will quit them, considering that I haven't really used it all that much in the first place. If I see something I want, I'll buy it. My point was that all this left a sour taste in my mouth. It seems that very few companies understand the power of goodwill. Putting out free stuff for Team Fortress 2 has gotten Valve a ton of free advertising, for example. The fickle internet masses do wield a considerable amount of power.
  15. Didn't WH40k teach you anything? There is no forgiveness. Instead of doing something nice, they went the other way spreading confusion and toying with people's emotions. While it may have worked, that is not cool in my book.
  16. The bottom line here is that KotOR2, NWN2 and AP were unacceptably unpolished at release. It just shows more with AP since the level of polish on other games has gone up.
  17. The ideas are good, but the execution on Lamb was extremely bad. It feels like a waste of good ideas to me.
  18. In a world gone mad, only a lunatic is truly insane.
  19. None of that changes what I said. At some point you have to peek out of the crazy fantasy world of infinite development time and face the real world.
  20. A crying shame! John Romero deserved better. No he didn't, you make a crappy dated game, you suffer the consequences. The technical term is tweaking: making something old seem fresh by making few minor changes to the presentation. I was just expecting more from the genius mind of Ken Levine.
  21. While I don't agree with Slowtrain's limp wristed complaints, I can't help but feel that this is exactly the Bioshock 1 formula repeated again. You have a new philosophy - jingoism, a new setting for crazy isolated city - sky, new splicers, new big daddy replacements and of course the ever popular magic on one trigger, gun on the other. The only thing that they seem to have added is the AI companion.
  22. Bioshock is a financially successful franchise, Daikatana isn't.
  23. Oh come on, it made everyone look, and talk about it... It mostly confused people and still does. Plus, I'm petty like that.
  24. Aeroshock confirmed. What I don't get is why they're pimping this now when the release is 2 years away.
  25. Attempting to engage in an intellectual discourse with Achilles is a lengthy and ultimately fruitless effort, as I learned a few months before.
