On the PC you can usually save the game so you don't have to do the whole thing again. It would be cool if the campaign continued on, but your failure has some... unforeseen consequences. You have to repeat stuff until you get it right in most games, it's just that console games have save points while most PC games have quicksave to make things mildly less frustrating. I don't like repeating stuff either, but that's what games do.

I hate timed missions as well, but it seems stupid to complain about it when you don't manage to do the mission under the time limit. It's still a game...

A New Game Unannounced from Blizzard

Yeah, IP stands for Intellectual Property, that's what all the cool kids are after so that they can create franchises and make endless sequels ala Tony Hawk, Guitar Hero etc. sucking every last drop of profit out of it like thirsty vampires until all that is left is an empty husk of a product. -

lol. And I lol because I was like 11 when I first posted on BIS, not just because I find your post amusing. The old BIS boards were awesome, too bad they were never archived. All that Planescape goodness gone forever... -
The annoying guy was pathetic, I hope I never hear his horrible voice again. Ever. A good Halo bashing is always fun, but the review was pretty meh. Also, it didn't help that he apparently had never even seen an RTS...

Nope. See fifth and sixth posts. This fills me with sadness. Half the fun was learning how the system worked and then trying to min/max the hell out of it

The one's when you don't survive aren't that "fun" Now if only Jagged Alliance let you prime grenades and explosives...

So I was playing X-COM some time ago. My whole rookie squad got blown up by an alien bazooka somewhere near the beginning of a terror mission. I had one badly wounded rookie left, I armed her with grenades and managed to finish the mission right before she succumbed to her wounds. Also, it's always cool to prime a grenade and have a last stand when you see a Chryssalid right around the corner. Those things are nasty.

Well, I found Arthas' fall very cool. The video where he returns to the castle was pure awesome. It might have helped that I was like 14 then... -
Will it have the combat dialog window? It won't be any fun when I can't see the rolls, how do I know the game isn't cheating? Also, what kind of a system are they using? A d20-style?

That would probably require at least Windows 98 emulation, which the PSP can't do. On the plus side you can play Septerra on a netbook with integrated graphics and it runs on Windows 7 and probably Vista as well. If you have a mac you might be able to run it with the Windows emulator thing(i forget the name) or dualbooting.

3/4 of the video is a wizard shooting various colorful spells at some kind of "orks". It didn't even seem to be very effective... Massive battles just don't work with DnD-style quasi turn-based combat, the animations have always looked awkward when battling more than one enemy. Drakensang did that ok, but characters still ran around in combat before getting into the fight animation. I agree that they need more parrying animations. This looks more and more like a fantasy Mass Effect, we'll see about that "dark heroic fantasy". EDIT: The gift thing seems straight out of a Japanese dating sim, wth? So if one of my party members doesn't like me slaughtering a bunch of children, I can fix it by giving them some trinkets? Just don't give them rocks ha-ha... They also mentioned DLC in the latest Giant Bomb podcast.

Yes, exactly - thanks for the strategy. However, that is not my problem. The problem is that the game crashes everytime said boss monster uses a certain attack, and everytime Led uses her Lvl 3 attack. Are you using the latest patch? There is an annoying bug with using an item in the wrong place and getting stuck later on. Maybe it will help with your stuff as well? I had crashes, but I don't remember those things specifically causing it. Also a little hind: take care of all the characters, even the one's you're not using, you will need ALL of them in the end. Oh thanks, you brought it to my attention that there's a newer patch Good job Valkyrie, supporting your game that long! Its version is 1.04, unlike the one you linked, and it fixes the mentioned bugs specifically! See here: http://www.valkyriestudios.com/Septerra/fsa.htm Woah, that's some crazy stuff. I thought they went under around 2000. It's really awesome that they released a new patch, sorry that I didn't search further. Good luck with the endless dungeons

In addition to that, maybe Ben becomes such a bad person in the future because he sees Sayid murder him(an innocent kid) in cold blood. That might also be why he has Sayid's wife Nadia killed and why he uses him as an assassin. Karma's a bitch. Edit: And because Sayid says "You were right, I am a killer", Ben keeps telling him that in the future. Mind = blown.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. The writers have said that there will be no paradoxes and no alternate timelines(IIRC). This is also way cooler than some Heroes crap with multiple futures and other confusing stuff. Everything we see in the past has always happened from the Island's POV. Desmond is the only one who can change things, because he is "special".

The combat was never all that great, but stealth with hacking is awesome. There are always some vents and secret places to crawl around and find cool stuff in. The story and characters are also pretty cool.

She might be doing a good job, but her good isn't enough. All her characters feel the same, the flashback Caroline was exactly as stocking-girl in this episode. It is truly a shame when your secondary characters(Victor, Sierra) out-act the star so much that it shows. Eliza is either a clueless child or an evil bitch.

April Ryan vs Evil Alchemist hopscotch in The Longest Journey:
-
Apparently she and Whedon had a 4h lunch where he pitched his idea and they figured out the Dollhouse stuff. It was mostly Whedon's idea, but she helped a little. Maybe she could play a normal character, but the new character every week stuff is obviously too much for her and it shows.
-
Hopscotch? hmm I don't remember that part. Is it in the beginning? I remember challenging an evil alchemist in a math game Many good moments in that game - the writing/story is subtle, funny, sweet, sad and true epic at times.. One of the best games I've played I think.. Yeah you beat him with the calculator, but you can try a bunch of other "challenges" like Tic-Tac-Toe, Cooking contest, weight guessing...
-
Being dead and getting resurrected Locke/Christian style would achieve the same result.
-
Just challenged an evil alchemist to a game of hopscotch... and lost in The Longest Journey. The game is pretty awesome so far.
