Yeah the ending's great, just don't tell the Americans

Umm, Bioshock was a series of sandboxes, I doubt that this is any different. What people need to get right is that playing "good" should be harder by default and the reward should just be being "good". The choice is totally meaningless in Bioshock, because Tenenbaum will send you "gifts" that actually have more Adam that harvesting IIRC.
-
you'll be happy then, in my copy of game informer theres a screen shot of you standing staring at a little sister with the options "Harvest" and "adopt" *runs off and actually reads the article* Looks like plasmids are changing to be more like the weapons from the ratchet and clank games. You upgrade them and the ability differs slightly (so for the incinerate ability it starts as "light with a snap" then upgrades to fireball and finally "shoot flame from your hand!"). They're focusing on having players have different builds for their characters (which will probably end up having people run around with cookie cutters a la Diablo2). When you adopt a little sister you basically run around and can have her harvest adam from dead bodies. Problem comes when all of a sudden splicers come boiling out of the walls and trying to get at her. You as a big daddy have to kick the crap out of them, but it'll be a situation where the ants attack with enough people to simply overwhelm the daddy (that's gonna be a difficult balance IMHO). You can also help the sisters escape rapture (doesn't mention more than that really). I sounds like they're making the big sister in to Nemesis from RE3 (in terms of gameplay), always just randomly showing up to try to whup your ass. And she's vicious The consequence less death looks to be making a return as the devs don't want to "loose progress" much if you die so that anyone can finish the game. You can switch them off in the basic game however. That's about all the basics that were gleaned from the first read through of the article. Great, add the mandatory 10h of Pipe Dream and you got yourself an Eurogamer 10/10.

50 Cent: Blood on the Sand is up and frickin' kills me.

The Final Fantasy VIII one at least has a script. The SWAT 4 one is more of a let's play where he just play and comments.
-
He kinda reviewed it on his youtube account here, but that's really just his thoughts on the game. EDIT: The most recent SWAT 4 episode isn't as fun as the first ones, so if you want to get a general feel of his style look a little more down to the first and second SWAT 4 episodes.

The Spoony Experiment is Noah Antwiler's website where he reviews mostly old and BAD games ala the Angry Video Game Nerd. At the moment he is playing and reviewing SWAT 4 which is pretty hilarious. Among other things he has done a full playthrough of Phantasmagoria 2: A Puzzle of Flesh, The Thing and. He comes off more rational than AVGN and has some pretty interesting opinions.

Most of the old Games for Windows podcast crew has managed to put together a new podcast Out of the Game where they talk about about crazy stuff that is not really related to games. Hilarity included. Episode one is out featuring Robert Ashley, N'Gai Croal, Shawn Elliott, Jeff Green and Luke Smith. You can grab the mp3 from here or drag the RSS feed directly into iTunes, it's not up on the iTunes store yet.

Does drilling a Big Sister in the face count? I'm afraid they will run out of relatives before the series is over.

You are NOT really dead! Surprise! *stun*

Get away! The ONLY thing that is cool about the Big Daddy is the way it stomps around and demolishes everything in sight. Turning it into some kind of fragile metrosexual would seriously suck. Off the top of my head, I can't think of a single game where you start out with a super-powerful character and just stomp your way through the game. Maybe the other big daddies will be the real enemies? It could work if you were powerful, but really slow and with limited field of vision, but I doubt that they would gimp the trigger-happy console crowd like that.
-
I really hated the idea of playing as a Big Daddy when I first heard about it, but after reading that I think it will be kinda cool. I like the fact that they make the Little Sisters look less like demon-children now that you're looking at them as a Big Daddy. "Mr. B? Mr. B! You're okay!" There's big problem, though: they will either have to beef up the splicers or nerf the Big Daddy(you). In Bioshock a Big Daddy could kill hordes of splicers left and right, doesn't look very challenging.

Yay for reusing enemies from the first game... They also said somewhere that it will have co-op... Still waiting for "Bioshock 6: Re-going back to the New Rapture" set in 2080 with lasers. Yeah, that's the thing. Most PC's don't have much personality anyway. Still the Big Daddy as portrayed in Bioshock was such a zombiefied automaton that it is hard for me to picture playing it as a character. It's similar to the Bioshock 2 devs announcing you get to play the game as a laser turret. Wheee! Remember the little buddy laser turrets in Portal? Those had more personality than the PC in the original BioShock. This could be a step up! Those turrets were awesome, they had more personality than Fontaine in addition to being cute and funny "Turret: I don't blame you."

I admire your persistence, but what now? You have reached the apex of your life, it's all downhill from here.

So you have been trying to set that joke up for the last 3 years?

You and Carth really need to get a room.

Mass Effect 2 will come out next year for PC and 360 according to Kotaku Yay for not jumping on the November dogpile.

But it will only be 3/4 as fun without 1.13 mod And you can't really mod a DS game... This is the original JA, not JA2. It's a pretty different game, but it was very fun in its own right. The MERC personalities were in place, as well as the need for different skill sets like lockpicking and explosives. The combat engine isn't as complex as JA2, but it can hold its own. It should translate fantastically to the small screen if the developer doesn't mess up. The storyline is that you are on an island with some special trees that have some medical use. Some doctors have hired you to take over the island from some greedy villain. As you capture territories, you gain revenue from the trees. Hmm, I'd prefer X-COM, but I'll try JA as well. The tree-stuff sounds straight out of sci-fi...

To be fair you can say that about pretty much anything

Shhh! You're ruining all the speculation.

Their commercials are funny. I occasionally use them to catch up on something, but watching on my pc monitor is not the same as watching it on the huge TV in HD. I'm visually spoiled now, and it's hard to sit still for less. We don't have a DVR at the moment, and I miss it. Plus my computer isn't set up with a comfy lounge chair, so it's not very appealing to watch TV on it. heh I think one of the issues I'm having with the show is that I thought originally it was supposed to be about rich people getting fantasy dates or social thingies, and it seems to be moving in the direction of it being rich people using the service for dangerous criminal missions. Which is it? The boss constantly mentioning the danger-risk percentage of a mission but allowing it anyway is akin to Kirk always mentioning (and then ignoring) the Prime Directive. You could always hook your computer up to your TV... This episode was okay, I like last week's better, but it wasn't bad. Maybe I just don't like suicide cults all that much, bank heists are way cooler. Everyone seems to be out to save their own ass, the evil ATF guy seemed a bit forced. The shower subplot was pretty funny, but what the heck was up with Adelle's speech at the end, it didn't fit her character one bit. Also nice seeing poor Mellie and Dr. Saunders get some screen time again. Next week is supposed to be the holy grail, so keep your eyes peeled.

I played a bit of the Planescape Trilogy's first part Purgatorio demo, which just came out on Neverwinter Vault. The environments look really awesome and if you mind a few crashes here and there, it's pretty playable. I don't really want to play the demo, because I feel like I'm spoiling the real thing. The team has put some real effort into this.
-
You're making me want to play a refrigerator, stop it! The impression I get is "You fought them in the first game, now you ARE one!". The problem is that you already were one and it sucked... The other problem is the age-old "YOU are special" trope. Can't you just be a regular anything without any chosen one or special crap? Bioshock wasn't really scary, but being a Big Daddy doesn't really help either. I'd like some screens/trailers.
-
So Kotaku was probably correct and the other stuff was just made up to confuse people. Can't say I like the idea, but then again I don't really care about the game.
