Yup, Heroes is over. I like how they put the final nail into the coffin by brainwashing Sylar instead of killing him that's going to work out just fine... Also, why didn't he just smoke Nathan and Peter when they came to "neutralize" him? They were no match to him. Hiro's brain damage is just laughable. It's a bit late to bring that in, isn't it? Couldn't they just kill him off and be done with that? Apparently they signed some kind of permanent contract with Ali Larter, because she's died like three times already and came back as lamer and lamer characters. As a bonus we got some atrocious acting from Angela when she saw dead Nathan. She sounded like a dieing cat, what the hell? EDIT: They could have just used Claire's blood to bring Nathan back. Yay plotholes!

You could move to a less populated region or a deserted island...

You're just fishing for the latest XKCD, aren't you? People are stupid, it's a fact, twitter is just helping to bring it out.

Some of the youtube let's plays are pretty good. Watching someone play X-Com is always fun, for example.

I'm starting out with the UFO series starting with Aftermath. I couldn't get into it when it came out, but after trying out the demo(again), it looks like the next best thing in the sad place that squad-based tactical strategy games have become. Does anyone have any advice/comments on the UFO series? EDIT: Okay, I actually played the demo of UFO: Aftershock, Aftermath looks like a bad beta version. So I'm going to play Aftershock instead.

Velvet Assassin comes out this week.

Demo or bust! -
Anything and everything. That's not an answer at all. I don't see what was wrong with IW's story, characters and setting. That was just a general comment, not a comment about IW.

I also like the 20s/30s way more with the prohibition and all that, but 40s and 50s have a lot of potential too. The skyscraper stuff looks pretty cool in the gameplay trailer. The speed limit and red light stuff did nothing for me, I just used the auto speed limiter. I did really like the ability to switch gears manually with the clutch and everything. It was also nice that you couldn't just run around with a gun out all the time.

Does not compute! I don't really have any hopes for DX3, but there is still a chance that the story/characters/setting will be good.

Well, Echo actually WAS Margaret from the time she had scanned her memories scanned. It was like another Margaret. I agree that the Topher-Sierra stuff was the highlight of this episode. I think that Topher imprinted Sierra with himself. Poor Topher EDIT: The Napoleon stuff made me think of Psychonauts...

Um, SARS never made the leap to human transmission (it was always avian-human, not human-human). This has. SARS was a concern because if it ever did make the leap, it'd be a very deadly virus. Not unfounded given that viruses mutate thousands of times each day. And this ones mortality rate is as high as the Spanish flu. How is that 'not high enough'? :S Just tell me when it's safe to leave the basement, ok?

Bioshock. I guess it comes down to opinion, like most things. Still, the game bored me to tears. Funny that, Bioshock bored me to tears. Half-Life 2 kept changing things around, trying new things, while Bioshock had you kill the same enemies over and over and over. The environment/art style was really good, I'll give you that. You couldn't really make HL2 about an art style, though.

It's worth it just for the kick button! Lies, all lies! Alyx is awesome and so are Barney, Dr Kleiner, Eli Vance and the G-Man. And what's wrong with East-European architecture mixed with alien technology? The channels are a bit boring, but the seafloor-desert is awesome with all the shipwrecks and stuff. Maybe you just don't have a soul? They're all gleefully happy and cheery despite the alien occupation, and never bother to mention anything relevant to the plot or what the hell is going on in the first place. The only interesting characters were Dog and the G-man, bother of which either don't talk or have 5 lines in the entire game. Also, Barney is an idiot. I wish I could have shot him. Alyx is incredibly boring and so is that woman scientist. What's wrong with East-European architecture is that its too ordinary and the alien technology stood out like a sort thumb, not to mention the big black walls were awful. There was no mood, no atmosphere and seemingly no art direction whatsoever. The only one who is cheery is Alyx and she is just an optimist, all the random people you meet are all doom and gloom. I think the idea was to have the Combine architecture stand out, showing that the combine are slowly taking over the city(and the planet) and changing it. Can you name a FPS that had good art design/environments?

Dark Messiah was awesome, I still wonder why there are so few people that even know about it. I could kick skeletons down stairways for hours and it never lost it's charm...

Yeah, I couldn't describe it very well. What I liked about it was that it actually looked like there had been a sea there and it had dried up, not just some shipwrecks and sand thrown around. You could complain about the weapons being a bit sucky in HL2, but the environments are very well designed and pretty. In most FPSs all you get is some gray/brown wasteland/ruins/urban environments. Half life 2 has the city, channels, deserty beach, Ravenholm, the prison and finally the citadel.

Yay, another excuse not to go outside!

If you already own HL2/Ep1 you can gift the new ones to anyone you want. Too bad it only works for HL2/ep1

Still Life 2 sure lives up to its name, it has some of the worst voice acting I have ever heard and the game isn't all that great either... Umm, Demigod has been out for a while now... Not in Sweden FYI, I do not download games. Too bad, Impulse has it for Europe too. Not that I have played it, I thought it was out everywhere. DoTA isn't really my thing...

I have heard really about things about the 360 ports, especially the controls. I don't know if he would still have gotten sick of it, but the PC version is superior AFAIK. Also, how do you get sick of Portal, it's only 6h long? What "really bad things" are those? I've played HL2 and EP1 on PC, and part of HL2, EP2 and Portal on 360. It's the same game except for the controls, which are fine unless you've never played an FPS with a controller, but then the issue is with the player and not the game. Honestly, if you don't enjoy the game on one system, you aren't going to enjoy it on another. Oh well, I guess the problem is with the game and not the system. It's still an awesome game, though...
