The "price" in this case is the time you spend on it. I'd rather play QL. This really makes me want to reinstall UT, actually. I was always more of a UT fan than Q3 fan.

Is it even public? From what I've heard it's a complete disaster with unbalanced classes, everything taking way too long to kill and like three maps in total. At least Quake Live managed to copy Q3:A pretty well.

Well you can do duels and there are some "private matches" in the server browser. Edit: apparently they're looking to add private matches as a premium service. That's certainly an interesting idea, I wonder how that will work out. Still it's pretty fun to just do a random deathmatch every now and then in the comfort of your own browser. I demand UT Live!

I tried to play Quake Live back when it went public, but it was impossible to sign up, let alone play. So I finally remembered about it and signed up. It's basically Quake 3 Arena that runs in your browser at full speed and full Quake 3 graphics. It's also pretty fun. Oh and it's totally free!

I have a Sapphire 4850 with their custom cooler and it works super special awesomely so far, also positive experiences with Asus and Msi. The only card that died on me was a Gigabyte 7600GT with passive cooling. If you're getting stuff from Newegg, I've heard good things about EVGA cards.

According to spoilers there will be evil aliens by the end of the series, the leader of which is played by none other than Rhonda Mitra. I guess V won't be the only sci-fi show with evil hot aliens I don't have anything against them messing around with the ship, the "evil aliens" have been pretty sad/hilarious more than scary most of the time on Stargate. The environment has been the immediate danger much more often than actual foes.

The only similarity with L4D is the co-op aspect and the FP view. Otherwise they are totally different games AFAIK, just like Diablo and Half-Life are different games.

That's a very weird attitude. If you were only paying for the physical stuff then games would cost ~$5 at most(the price of the blank DVD, paper crap and case). You have always been paying for the content, the medium has always been physical out of necessity. But you're welcome to go down with the ship

While the Wheel of Time series certainly has some Tolkien influences, it is much more grounded in reality and more about characters/the world than a single epic journey.
