  1. I could probably listen to April's hilarious comments a few more times, but the CG cutscenes kill me. Seriously, what is this?
  2. There's always a few old games that you haven't played. Shameless plug
  3. Yup, you'd think that would be obvious. I guess the xbots got the short end of the stick again?
  4. As I said before, just put on some music or a podcast and quickly go over a bunch of planets and only probe the places where the mineral-o-meter peaks, you'll get all the minerals you need in like 10 minutes.
  5. If we wait a bit longer maybe it will turn into a third person cover-based shooter with a multiplayer component?
  6. I thought no one cared about Alan Wake anymore. It was supposed to be just another Silent Hill clone, no?
  7. Yeah, I'm not saying that it will be an awesome game either, in fact it will probably suck, but it might also be good and attaching Obsidian isn't probably going to hurt either. It's just that some people around here are so jaded that they won't ever enjoy anything again.
  8. Speaking of turning literary classics into video games, this is pretty funny, with classics such as "EA Presents: WAR AND PIECES", "EA Presents: THE BODY COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO" and "EA Presents: MACDEATH".
  9. It would actually be nice to get some(any) comments for the developers... *wink*
  10. I'm not crying, hey I don't know what Wheel of Time is except from this thread. Now I know it's a series of uber-spammed fantasy books that some people like and some people don't. As for CRPGs, I wouldn't touch ME2 as far as I could throw it. It appears to be the antithesis of everything I look for in a game. Most people here have other stuff they're into gaming-wise, like Hurlie's strange stat-based sports sims or my nerdy panzer-addiction. I'm not jonesing for any game in particular to be honest. I need a reason to be excited about this, haven't really seen one yet. Cheers MC Pretty much all of the negative stuff about the series has to do with the author's handling of pacing and a few (super)annoying characters. The setting is great. Well, I guess not everyone was crying about the lack of RPGs, but some people certainly were.
  11. Illegal pig racing:
  12. The Fable cycle: (Brought to you by the Sonic cycle)
  13. The Kelly romance is either a huge joke or something someone did on their lunch break. AFAIK you can only complete it after finishing the game.
  14. The game might just as well be cool and innovative because of the "noob" studio. Until we actually see screenshots/gameplay, this could go either way. It seems that people who have actually read the books are interested and the ones who haven't are just dismissing it. With everyone crying about the lack of RPGs and being forced to play Mass Effect 2, even though they hate every second of it, you'd think that everyone would be doing cartwheels about an actual RPG that's not a MMO, involves Obsidian in some capacity and has a major publisher attached to it. But noo, you will never be satisfied.
  15. Yeah, that was a while back, nowadays you can just get a program that will do that for you. Making a bootable linux thumbdrive for emergencies is really easy.
  16. But Natal and Milo will change everything!
  17. Molyneux promised us that we could touch children, he better not let us down.
  18. What about the poor hot chocolate people? Where are they supposed to go?
  19. Actually, contrary to most fantasy, the normal people in WoT have to be beaten with a stick to actually acknowledge that something really bad is going on. They don't really care about the heroes or the bad guys, they just want to live their lives.
  20. I hope they manage to tune down the "epicness", this has to be a side story not a second Rand, whom no one has heard about, strolling around.
  21. can be... complicated. look to star wars for reference. am doubting jordan and publishers gave up future digital publishing rights to wotc. HA! Good Fun! Hmm, it would be nice to know who actually holds the rights. The PnP system had some good ideas mixed in with all the usual 3ed stuff. @Boo: suit yourself, but don't knock it until you try it. It's certainly not great all the time, but the series overall is very good. @Virumor: woah, no need to go all crazy and scare everyone off.
  22. The books might be a little long(to say the least), but the fantasy and the setting are excellent and pretty different from the LotR-style high fantasy. No elves or dwarves there and the magic-y stuff is well realized.
  23. I don't think they are going to use the d20 system, WotC probably still owns the rights.
  24. There's actually a WoT PnP ruleset based on DnD 3ed. Oh, and for this game to actually work story wise, it has to have as little direct contact with the main story from the series as possible. Maybe small cameos and references.
  25. Red Eagle is a totally new studio, they might have super special awesome writers. Also letting Obsidian do the technical stuff is still probably better than having a totally new studio try their hand at it. Dragon Age killer confirmed!
