  1. If it starts of with Trollocs burning down my village, I'll just uninstall it. That said, you can pretty much do anything with fantasy, dismissing it because of that is silly.
  2. I think the time is finally right for a high budget Bible game, Dante will soften them up and Jesus will swoop in to pick up the big bucks. You can do it, EA!
  3. ...from Death! While both games are ridiculous, I think the main difference is presentation. God of War is a fictional story set in the Greek mythology setting, while Dante's Inferno is actually advertised as the game version of the book and is grossly misrepresenting the source material. Plenty of things have actually used Dante's 9 Circles of Hell setting, starting with everyone's favorite Planescape.
  4. I almost forgot, if you've already read the books, check out the mock summaries, they're hilarious.
  5. Would be interesting to see what the original concept art actually looked like... EDIT: Best one I could find: Not much of an improvement.
  6. Having a hero beat up gods is slightly more in line with Greek mythology than turning Dante the poet into a 6-foot tall muscular scythe-wielding action hero with a cross stitched to his chest. Also, I don't think GoW was claiming to "bring the literary masterpiece to the new generation".
  7. It would probably play just as it sounds
  8. But think of all the bits we're saving by not having an official forum. I'm sure you all want your children and their children to still have an internet.
  9. But in all seriousness, making a game based on the WoT setting without any previous knowledge sounds like a LOT of work. Maybe that's where Red Eagle comes in, they keep the canon straight
  10. The audiobooks are about 30h each, so that how long it took me...
  11. By now they should be just about finished reading the books
  12. Speaking of tribes, Tribes 2 is freeware and fans have restored full multiplayer functionality, including making their own authentication server. You can get the full game and the patches from TribesNext.
  13. That's what you get with Bioware NPCs, you say "hello" to them once and they think you're engaged.
  14. Even the was better. I guess they just didn't have good CG people at hand for TLJ, but it's a small complaint compared to the awesomeness that is April Ryan.
  15. @Raithe: Dragonmount was pretty dead as well before Brandon was announced as the new author. It was nice to see all the fans crawling out of their cubby holes when TGS came out. EDIT: Aren't there also graphic novel versions of the main books coming out pretty soon?
  16. @Flouride: Nowadays you have the Leigh Butler's re-read, the Dragonmount forums and a few blogs scattered about.
  17. I tend to think standalone episodes are better in most shows I watch, this one included. Plus less need for the 'Previously on [insert series name here]...' bit at the beginning whose length is often in inverse proportion to the quality of the coming episode. Yup, they are great, I meant the ones at the start of the show season 1-ish. It never ceases to amaze me how they can put humor into such a serious series and pull it off. This episode especially
  18. It got better. The beginning was CSI-style standalone episodes, now it's all focused on a central story. If I had to watch something frame-by-frame I'd probably hate it as well
  19. You're right about the marketing. WoT does have a surprisingly large fan base, but it's mostly dispersed and probably not really into video games. It's almost like they all missed the whole internet thing. Dragonmount, Encyclopedia WOT and Tor are doing a good job rallying people, though.
  20. To deliciousness land? Hot chocolate high five!
  21. Brought to you by Idle Thumbs
  22. I thought I'd resurrect this thread, because Supernatural is awesome. Even the filler episodes are great. You should be watching this, now.
  23. Sounds like you just need an external HDD. Just pick one, they all work.
  24. So I herd you liek RPGs
  25. I'll take PST's cutscenes over that any day.(does PST even have any in-game cg cutscenes featuring characters?) But the point is that she doesn't even looks like a person, creepy.
