That's great to hear. I scooped it up a couple of days ago but am waiting to finish the main story before playing it. The trailer certainly made it look pretty fun and wacky. Out of curiosity, about how long is it? (If you've completed it) I have just bought Sleeping Dogs and will be playing it after Risen 2. I am glad its getting good endorsements

Don't get me wrong, people are aware of it. And we see some clubs and events that encourage a dress-up for the evening. But no one go's "trick or treating" that I know of

Definitely give it a go Cantousent, give it a few episodes before deciding if you're into it or not (minimum 4 imo), as it's a show that builds over time. The Wire is amazing, and Sensuki is right it takes time to build. But you really get to identify with the characters, both good and bad. You also get to see just how hard and challenging life on the street can be. Someone also mentioned The Sopranos and Oz, both shows I loved. Especially Oz, I use to enjoy seeing the interaction between the various gangs and the reasons people ended up in Oz

I thought that the first game from Frictional games in the series, Amnesia : Dark Descent was the most terrifying game I have ever played. Anyway there next game is about to be released. I agree, I enjoyed both DA1&2 and the ME series. I didn't think they were as complex, fun or engaging as BG1&2 or the NWN series. But they were still fun, thats all I ask for when I play an RPG. I don't expect inspiration, I expect entertainment. Its a game after all? As far as DA2 is concerned I read all the bad reviews and didn't expect too much, you will be amazed how less judgmental you are when you play a game with no expectations. It becomes more fun than you realize. Also Isabella was smoking hot. I did see the obvious shortcuts, like the dungeon rehash and the fact that enemies appeared out of now where but I am confidant that Bioware won't make the same mistake again with DA3. Finally I am expecting big things from PE, basically a BG2 experience. So I'll be very disappointed if they don't deliver

Despite what you think I firmly believe that under the circumstances the regime change in Libya was addressed the best way it could be. We can't look at this in the context of political changes in the Western world. Libya is a country of tribes with a brutal history. The West assisted in overthrowing Gaddafi without "boots on the ground". The West also wasn't seen as trying to enforce its own version of Democracy on Libya at the end of the conflict. Certain Western countries are now seen as allies of Libya and the current government in Libya respects this. When that American diplomat was killed the Libyan government moved quickly to unequivocally condemn it and act against the people responsible. Libya is a friend of the West, this is a huge plus when it comes to the political dynamics of the Middle East and the fact that there is negative sentiment against the West from certain Middle East countries. There are also certain lucrative contracts around rebuilding the country that have correctly gone to Western countries. Is Libya a completely stable country now, are there no tribal factions and do they follow our interpretation of Democracy. No of course not , as there are certain cultural differences that in my opinion will never change. But there is no reason we can't do business with Libya and consider them an important fledgling Democracy in the region. We should also be proud of the fact that we prevented a massacre of the Libyans that we are seeing in Syria to a certain degree. So I do consider Libya a successful regime change under the circumstances

I dont even see him as an "evil man" in the sense of Black and White. He does what he needs to do to stay in power. What he is doing is no different from what european, asian and indeed american nations have done in the past. Our "palette" for ethics and moralities however has changed in the west. Our sense of humanity and right and wrong too. But its a change brought about by widespread affluence and peace. Two things not present in most of the world. You make some good points but the concept of " staying in power at all costs" is completely unacceptable in the 21 Century, just because it happened in the past does not mean we should accept it now. This has been a major challenge in the development and advancement of Africa where corrupt dictators have stayed in power for decades. There are still examples of this, like Mugabe in Zimbabwe, but they are less and less. Assad would have been removed months ago by certain members in the UN security council but we all know Russia and China have vetoed any military action as they feel they were misled in Libya. The question you need to ask yourself is actually a simple one " do you think a government has the right to use its military to suppress political dissension"? The answer should be a resounding "no" and the UN should support intervention under a certain framework. Iraq is a bad example of regime change and Libya is a good example of how regime change can be implemented.

Same as me. I prefer to know exactly what the issue is. I am a logical person and a typical Leo so what you see is what you get. I am not very good at handling these relationship mind games. They stress me out. I find that women are particular bad at pulling the whole "well he is annoying me so I'll just ignore him routine". But this only applies when you are friends( and happen to be attracted to them) with them, once in a relationship they are more than happy to discuss any issue.

I am watching the damage done from Sandy on Sky, it truly has devastated parts of New York and New Jersey. It takes storms like this to make us realize how irrelevant mankind is before the power and majesty of nature. I have seen a guy on a Jet ski using it to navigate his way through the streets of his town, I have seen the subways of NY flooded and the front of a 3 story building ripped off. I can only imagine the general delay around traffic for people in NY trying to get to work during the week wiith the subways closed

You should raise this with her, it may sound petty but these types of things can simmer and lead to major resentment building up.

Although I think you people will be happy in the end, Avellone's comment about relationships leads me to believe there'll be a couple of NPCs for you to get emotionally involved with but at least some better style of relationships as well. Thats all most of us ask, and its not unreasonable.

Sorry to go over old-ground, Bruce, but there were several fairly astute arguments from the anti side on this subject (on the writing aspect of NPCs) and some fairly made-up-as-they-went-along type guesstimates of how long it takes to write one a few threads back. "Oh, I've figured out it will take a week" was a favourite of mine. As 'Tep has agreed, resources is a valid argument. Please also see MCA's take on this, quoted fairly unambiguously earlier on. He hates them too. I respect your opinion but we will have to agree to disagree on this one Monte. That is until I hear official comment from Obsidian about the status of Romance\Sex in PE.

Well, oh paragon of reason that you are, you could see that romance might affect other areas - the decent post you're uselessly QFT'ing with some pathetic snark says as much - they have a finite set of resources and this can detract from other areas potentially. None of us being the PM on this we can't actually state to what degree this is though. Let me get this straight, the primary argument from the anti-romance crowd is that the implementation of Romances will\may detract from other areas of development, yet you can't actually say if it will\may detract from other areas of development because none of us really know the programming effort required to implement said Romances. So the premise of the anti-romance crowd is based on conjecture. Nice one boys, imagine the debate we could have if you guys actually had facts to substantiate your disapproval of Romance\Sex in PE

Care to elaborate? Because I view my 'problem' (not needing bogus emotional and / or sexual validation and / or gratification via a virtual digital relationship) as being a pretty healthy one TBH. Why do you think people who want romance are needing emotional or sexual validation / gratification? I mean we keep circling the drain on this - Anti-Romance: "Romances are stupid" Pro-Romance: "I like romances as a character option." Anti-Romance: "OMG, you **** to pixels!" The logic doesn't seem to follow, IMO, and seems to have no connection to what the pro-romance crowd are generally speaking about. There have been plenty of good points raised by the anti-romance crowd - resource cost of implementing a romance dialogue option with real depth; previous romances showing weakness in current implementation models, just plain focus issues with limited time to develop the game. But the "ooo, people who want romances are looking to make games their stroke material! Ick! Horror!" shtick doesn't make sense. I'm not sure what anything in the pro-romance suggestions would alter this. I don't think anyone has said that your barbarian HAS to romance an NPC...or even that you'd have to take NPCs along. I didn't realize Obsidian had licensed F.A.T.A.L.... EDIT: Horrible grammar (may still be but I fixed the one that glared back at me). Good comments Amentep. But using logic and reasonableness on the anti-romance crowd won't resonate with them. They can't seem to grasp a simple statement, having the option of Romance\Sex in the game is irrelevant as this will do nothing to interfere, diminish or alter your experience of the game in any way (now who said that? ) You can just choose to ignore it

I don't think this will effect your gaming experience at all? You can choose who you want in your party. I must raise a point that I hope doesn't detract from this discussion. Why do people object to Romance\Sex in the game as these can be completely optional. As are certain party members in PE.

Oh my hat, "Brimstone" I didn't think anyone would mention it. I downloaded the whole series about 1 month ago and started watching it. Its dated but still entertaining, I wish they would remake it. The plot was really interesting. Especially seeing each escaped soul and there reason for ending up in Hell

There have been some excellent shows raised ( some I have never heard of like Blakes 7). I must say the The Wire is superlative, and I did forget it. It would be my 8th choice. We truly are spoilt in this modern era when it comes to entertainment
