  1. Alan that has been my single biggest disappointment in gaming, the fact that Red Dead never made it to PC. What do you mean when you said its not financially viable for Rockstar to port the game to PC? At the moment I refuse to buy a console so my policy is I don't support any game unless its on the PC
  2. Thx guys, I appreciate the translation. So we'll wait and see
  3. I hear you, can you maybe read that link I posted and then translate. I just want the summary of what that German website is saying?
  4. Wow, thats interesting. I never played the original but I heard its a classic Here is a sceeenshot from this game http://www.pcgames.de/Das-schwarze-Auge-Die-Schicksalsklinge-PC-249135/News/Das-Schwarze-Auge-Schicksalsklinge-Neuauflage-der-Nordlandtrilogie-angekuendigt-1046051/
  5. Yeah and no. In my experience beautiful women get hit on so much that with them, the ridiculous advice of "just be yourself" is actually sound. Most beautiful women could have whoever they want, so the best thing to do really is be relaxed and yourself and accept the fact that she will either choose you or somebody else; there is very little you can do. I know a lot more people who'll just approach amazing-looking women since the cost/benefit ratio is so good. Could be cultural differences, could be me knowing too many arrogant **** and economists. Raithe: one-upping your friends that way is a quick route into finding that you are no longer invited. I know I get left out a lot, and have to tone it down myself. Of course, cultural differences, again. Most women my age around here will get into a feminist tizzy over "old-fashioned manners", so helping a girl put her coat on is one of my key tests in whether I should spend more time with them. Sound advice my friend, you make some good points I had a few issues with ladies I met where my good manners were misconstrued as being patronizing and not appreciated. But I still prefer good manners.
  6. And of course you lied and told them "this is how I always behave" I like the way you operate, I like the way you operate
  7. That sounds interesting, a game about Vampires on the Eastern front in World War 2
  8. Thats impressive, having the guts to do that and also actually getting it right is much harder to do than it sounds. You obviously come across as genuine and sincere. Nice one Its funny but I met someone at a club on Saturday, she is is a chef and we going for waffles tomorrow night.
  9. My advice is take her somewhere where you feel comfortable but be realistic. For example don't take her to the theater if you don't like it because then you set a false expectation about what you really enjoy. I find a good restaurant where you can drink a little and get to know her always works
  10. Spells make a huge difference in combat, remember that certain combat spells are not area of effect so there won't be a risk to harming party members. Finally if I am not mistaken you can disable the option where area of effect spells hurt your party.
  11. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2013/jan/28/british-troops-mali-mission Britain is going to be sending troops to Mali to assist with logistical and training support Well done UK, its good to see you assisting your French neighbors in this African mission
  12. You should get a recliner thats designed and looks like a giant cats belly, imagine how cute that would be?
  13. I grew up on those, I remember the first time I picked one up with the red binding. I couldn't believe that their existed books where you could chose your own story. I then moved on to the famous Fighting Fantasy books by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingston. Who remembers "The Warlock of Firetop Mountain"
  14. The developer (Troika) apparently had plans for a follow on based upon Against the Giants modules, but that fell through. The initial release of ToEE was rushed out and was horribly buggy, which led to poor sales. It was also released incomplete (especially the ending), although I understand the Co8 team has addressed most of that now. Personally I enjoyed the game system; I just didn't find the game itself all that rewarding. I loved ToEE, it was the first RPG PC game I played about 7 years ago, and it got me back into PC gaming as I had stopped for about 10 years. Oh my hat !! Against the Giants , I remember that module like it was yesterday. I use to DM and when that game was combined into Queen of the Spiders it provided the greatest RPG ever
  15. I have to honest, I have an issue with the marketing of this type of game on KS. If someone says the game will be bare-bones when it reaches its target then why should I support it . Set the right target to make the game playable and enjoyable. I see this almost as a type of blackmail because most fans of this game will feel obligated to commit more money
  16. It looks good, but it does seem very violent. Maybe you shouldn't consider buying it until various conservative groups have said it won't have a negative impact on your personality? That would be right thing to do when it comes to these killing games.
  17. Nice links thanks I am going to look into the Pool of Radiance remake
  18. Why would your own personal experience apply to most South Africans? I'd imagine the black majority doesn't feel any kinship with Australians, especially of the Anglo-Saxon variety. Anyway, since my sister is staying with her Kiwi boyfriend in Brisbane, I'll construct an island detention facility on foreign soil for people caught trying to illegally enter the country by seas. Valid point, most Black South Africans probably don't feel much kinship to Australia But as I mentioned in the circles I move in many people have immigrated to Oz so for us it has become the closest place to South Africa in the world. Also we have a long and much loved sports rivalry with Australia. In cricket and rugby. So I suppose its better so say White South Africans especially like Australia.
  19. It looks intriguing. I like that people keep comparing the combat to Xcom, although it sounds like it isn't on the same level. I'll give it a whirl when I get home. Eh, after playing the demo, my attention has waned. The combat is super clunky. Damn, thats not good. I wanted to like this game. Do you think the bad combat is due to the fact its a demo? Or is this as the full version is going to be
  20. Yes that appears to be the reason, we should know more as the story unfolds I have friends who work at Dell and apparently Micheal Dell can't take the company the way he wants to as a listed company.
  21. I am interested if there are differences compared to the PC version during gameplay, so keep us updated. Such as? There's some (obvious) differences in controls due to a lack of mouse, but apart from that the two versions are pretty much identical and can actually play multiplayer together. I haven't been playing much, due to the ipad having been 2 versions behind in codebase, but it's been tons of fun so far. Haven't been home in over a month, so have minimal time on the windows version (my only windows rig is at home). I guess I also mean general stability on the Ipad, but it sounds likes its fine?
  22. Okay but they do do desktop application development as well. Isn't a PC game just another application? I am not saying there credentials are fantastic but they aren't complete dunces when it comes to development
  23. I am interested if there are differences compared to the PC version during gameplay, so keep us updated.
  24. http://www.onenewspage.com/n/Technology/74vnphvlq/Microsoft-might-invest-up-to-billion-in.htm http://news.yahoo.com/reports-microsoft-may-invest-dell-180008586.html Hi All I find this development absolutely fascinating, its a potential game changer going forward for the PC hardware industry I am a software consultant so I can see the ramifications for this. Please note that nothing is confirmed but this is the speculation. Michael Dell, founder of Dell, plans to buy back all public shares of Dell. He will then get private investment to invest in Dell. Microsoft being one of the interested parties. By doing this he is no longer beholden to the direction that shareholders feel he needs to take the company So if this happens what we will get is an integrated PC desktop, laptop and Server running Microsoft. Many of you are probably saying "but this is common now. We get IBM, HP and other hardware vendors that come pre-installed with Microsoft software? " The difference now is the price that this Dell\Microsoft venture can sell the hardware at. No one will be able to compete with it. At the moment hardware vendors have to pay for the hardware production cost and then the software cost to Microsoft. Imagine how competitive a company could be that owned the hardware and software? This may even raise some anti-competitive legal issues? I am a big supporter of Microsoft so I'll be watching this space closely.
