  1. I think I will, I have been reading about how easy it is to die so I just need to accept that and not get annoyed
  2. Thanks for responding and finding out. The reason makes sense to me as well
  3. I agree, its probably done as a way to encourage people to pay for the game. But it would just annoy me, either offer people free to play with certain functions, like logging calls, or charge for the game.
  4. I want to play Dark Souls as I consider myself a RPG aficionado and I believe you can't call yourself an aficionado unless you embrace all aspects of a topic. The thing is I don't like repetition of levels or getting killed too much, so by its nature Dark Souls might not be for me. Yet many people do love it, so I faced with a conundrum. Do I play Dark Souls ?
  5. These monsters remind of me creatures that I read about in an issue of the AD&D Dragon magazine called Hut Hunters( I think thats what they were called) Anyway these creatures looked exactly like houses with windows, doors and chimneys. They traveled in groups and typically lived in remote area's like forests and mountain valleys. There were different sizes to the Hut Hunters based on there age so they could create the appearance of a real village with churches, Inns, houses and small huts . Wary travelers would come across them and think they had found a deserted village. They would start exploring and would be drawn towards the middle of the "village" as the Hut Hunters could make noises The adventures would then try to open the door to the "Inn" and the attack would begin. A large tongue would come out of the door and this tongue would then wrap around the person who tried to open the door and drag him into its mouth. At the same time every other Hut Hunter would attack, so the party would suddenly find themselves surrounded and assailed by every single house in the village. The Hut Hunter can only use there tongues to attack and only from the front but they rely on the element of surprise so you can imagine a party of 8 adventurers being quickly overwhelmed as the Hut Hunters tongues appear from everywhere. This may sound like a bizarre encounter but I did incorporate it into one of my campaigns as I use to DM. It really worked and provided some good entertainment
  6. Thanks Sandy I firmly believe that we should put "our money where our mouths are" in the case of games like Wasteland 2 and PE. So I'll donate this way
  7. impossible. Well its about 90 minutes long, but with advert breaks its nearly 2 hours
  8. Guys I have just watched an excellent 2 hour documentary on History Channel called Miracle Rising: South Africa. I wanted to watch it first before I endorsed it to see if it was historically accurate and it is. Its an evocative and insightful view of the last years of Apartheid and our first non-racial election , anyone who is interested in how South Africa achieved such a radical political change without a civil war needs to watch it. Some of you are probably thinking "meh" I'm sure its a good documentary but how is this relevant to me? How Apartheid ended in South Africa highlights the important example of how compromise and reconciliation can avert war and violence if there is political will. And thats one of the most important lessons you should get from this movie, this lesson can be applied to certain conflicts nowadays. Like the issues between the Israeli's and Palestinians, so it is applicable. It is a bit depressing at times when you see the level of violence perpetuated by people on both sides of the conflict but end of the day its a shining example of the indomitable spirit of human beings and the great things they can achieve despite a troubled past. So try to watch it on History Channel
  9. Okay thx, then I would I missed it as I pledged $100
  10. I also missed the Wasteland 2 KS, but I am on a fence here... On a one hand it has a lot of features that I'd love to see, but the dialog in the current form is a huge turn off for me... If they would go with the dialog system similar to NWN2: SoZ it would be a must buy (so actual dialog trees, but special dialog options from different party members based on their attributes/skills), For me a dialog is a huge part of a good RPG. @ Morgoth I am in same boat, I didn't pledge back then because I didn't really understand or appreciate the potential of KS Did you pledge enough to Project Eternity to get the Wasteland 2 key? I also wasn't sure about Kickstarter until after the Wasteland 2 drive was over, so I'm glad that it was offered through PE. I don't think so, how much did you need pledge?
  11. Thats actually scary, the reality of a misdiagnosis
  12. Why not order it online?! Don't be nasty, you know they don't have the Internet in Slovakia ? I ordered it online... but my stupid mistake, it was from slovak shop, which got supplied 1 box in total from that retarded distributor... game.co.uk sold out and amazon got ridiculous prizes atm for me... even though I would buy it now from UK, it would come in 10 days soonest... Okay, that must be annoying. I just want to add that I was joking when I said Slovakia doesn't have the Internet. My step-dads sister was married to a Czech guy so all my step-brothers and step-sisters speak Czech and they go there regularly. I am sure your countries share many common cultural interests
  13. Valid questions, why don't you post them on the official Wasteland 2 forums and then report back to us? I am interested in the response

  15. Thats a accurate observation, I didn't realize it at the time but you can avoid loads of combat situations. So yes I agree the combat was weaker.
  16. I have just finished Planescape for the first time, as expected an amazing and enthralling game. My comments on the game
  17. Awesome, very happy so far. For me the success of Wasteland 2 is the litmus test for all these upcoming, classic, turn-based RPG that I am supporting. I want it to succeed as that will prove that certain games can be developed without Publishers.
  18. This has been a really fascinating topic. Its interesting to see everyones first RPG, there are some real classics in the lists I also don't count Quest for Glory as an RPG, or that would be my first. So then I would have to say Ultima 9, Pagan.
  19. Emphasis on a bit. I couldn't finish GTA IV, it was painful. SD isn't perfect but it's leagues better imo. Each of the characters I have met in the game so far have had their own personalities and the main character is pretty likeable. Rockstar also does a decent job when it comes to characters and dialogues. That's what sets the GTA series aside from other sandbox games in my opinion. Sleeping Dogs is an amazing game, really entertaining. The hand to hand combat really grows on you, I used the High Definition Mod and the game looked stunning. The characters are very believable, I also like the way you want to explore the city to find shrines and other things that aid you.
  20. Why not order it online?! Don't be nasty, you know they don't have the Internet in Slovakia ?
  21. I like this beast, you have clearly given it some good thought
