  1. Thats not my intention, I just respect the advice of many people on these forums I wasn't being entirely serious... Hi Nep How did the move go?
  2. I might, but I'll wait so see what the game is like first. BioWare used to be one of the very few developers that I instinctively trusted to deliver a wonderful game that I will enjoy. Dragon Age 2 changed all that. Now they're another "wait and see" developer. If Dragon Age 3 is a great game and to my liking, and I hope that it's fantastic, then I will buy it and play it. As for avoiding fantasy or sci-fi RPGs, I'm actually quite the opposite. I've always preferred sci-fi over fantasy. I hear you, I expect caution from many people around DA3. For me I don't think I have ever had a Day 1 purchase for any game, I generally wait for reviews and other users input. I normally wait for 1 month because then the first mandatory patches have been released and the game is relatively stable
  3. At least you are suggesting that they keep picking it back up Hi Melk I like Bioware and despite all this "Bioware Bashing" I guarantee you that almost every person on these forums who claims to dislike Bioware and that there games are sub-par will play Dragon Age 3 when its released. Mark my words I wont. And I think I proved that by not playing ME3 Sub-par... Bioware has entrenched itself in a specific niche, with a very specific style which does not appeal to me. It is far less a "bioware is bad" issue than the hordes of people who very vocaly will explain how they are perfect, which in turn will make those who disagree with that position to overly disagree. I do take offense when a "serious" gaming journalist drools over the consequences in Mass Effect and then discards the writing in Alpha Protocol as shallow for example. BACK ON TOPIC: ( ) I accidentally deleted my continuous game in Anno 2070. Warehouses full of resources. 2.12 million credits. A research town churning out prototypes... all gone... So I have to start a new game and get back countless hours of playtime. I won't. The way things are right now, i don't even know when i'll play another Bioware game again. Sorry boys but I don't quite believe you When DA3 is released and it will be awesome, you'll play it. You won't be able to resist. And to be honest its not that hard to avoid playing ME3, but to not play an incredible fantasy RPG is a different story. So we will have to see....
  4. Funny But you are right, this has been discussed to death.
  5. I was referring to Dunblane, and the result of that was the banning all private firearms. Of course you can't expect that in the USA, and I wouldn't ask for that http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunblane_massacre
  6. Malc I want to share with you another statistic that reinforces my point. On the same day of Sandy Hook in China a deranged man went into a school and started stabbing children. http://www.cbc.ca/news/world/story/2012/12/14/china-knife-attack-school.html 22 Children were wounded, but none were killed. Why was that? The Chinese man had every intention of causing mass carnage so why were there no deaths compared to the 20 children killed at Sandy Hook. The answer is clear, the Chinese man didn't have access to guns of any sort. I think my point is obvious
  7. It might be funny if it wasn't working in other parts world like Australia and the UK that were victims of mass killings using these types weapons. Of course you can still get the weapons illegally but thats not the issue, its the fact normal citizens in the USA can
  8. At least you are suggesting that they keep picking it back up Hi Melk I like Bioware and despite all this "Bioware Bashing" I guarantee you that almost every person on these forums who claims to dislike Bioware and that there games are sub-par will play Dragon Age 3 when its released. 9. Nope incorrect. He used a Bushmaster assault rifle, so there is no weird obsession with the banning of semi-automatic rifles as this would reduce the casualty list as has been explained many times.
  10. I agree with some of what you are saying, the reality is simple. In most cases you cannot prevent a mentally deranged person from trying to kill other people, but you can reduce the amount of damage he can do. Also we all know that a criminal will still be able to get any weapon even if semi-automatic weapons are banned, but what people are missing is that its not criminals that are committing these acts of mass murder. Its mentally unbalanced people who get these semi-automatic weapons from there parents or themselves by just walking into gun shops. Therefore by banning certain weapons or making gun legislation more controlled you will reduce the overall causality rates. This concept works all over the world where even though you have killings you don't have the high number of victims or frequency of these mass shootings as there is gun control in most countries.
  11. I am playing Of Orcs and Men, I am enjoying it so far. Its a nice change to play a non-human and see the human Empire as the "baddies". I also like some of the leading characters, they have interesting personalities. An example of this is Sarkyss, a human bandit king who considers goblins his children. The combat is different from many action games and a refreshing change, you stack combat options from a Wheel. And you do need to choose the right skill for different situations.
  12. Yeah you right, except for the fact that throughout the world strict gun control laws has reduced massacres. But you right, lets not look at evidence and rather make incorrect and controversial comments
  13. I like this concept, we can add to it looking at any wizard\alchemist who has been changed by his experiments and now has a vendetta aagainst a specific group. He could be cursed. So the party has to free a town from his influence, but he isn't really human anymore. He could be smoke or some kind of ethereal form but he has sentience and hungers for vengeance
  14. What about me? I care about your posts, I always support your Design a Monster? Give me some positive attention as well ???? Yes, I love you too, and the likes I get for my entries in design a monster are what I do it for. I'm sorry I forgot to mention you, but I was drunk. I especially appreciate your insightful posts in the Palestine thread, and I still think you should write a monster yourself. Now let's forget this ever happened. Thx JFSOCC, and I must add you do contribute loads of interesting forum discussions. So keep it up, you won't always get recognition or at times responses but I guarantee you people appreciate it. So don't think its wasted because I can understand how it can feel like that for anyone Booze is bad, m'kay ? I would argue that alcohol allows us to say things at times that we normally wouldn't say. And sometimes these things need to be said. So its definitely not all bad even when we appear to be very inebriated.
  15. No. But there are plenty of nude orc female mods, apparently. Because that is just so wildly arousing, boar-faced green women: Are you saying you don't find female orcs hot? Thats a little racist don't you think Hey, remember Redguards? The obviously-based-on-African-American race who are not very smart but pretty strong and they have high stamina, which makes them excellent for menial labor? Hey, it was Bethesda who made it, not me. I hear you, you make a good point. I hate it when you are right !!!
  16. Alan thats not always the case, read the link below to see how Steam saved Project Zomboid and didn't charge anything initially. They are the unsung heroes of many Indie developers for similar reasons http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/07/25/how-project-zomboid-was-saved-by-steam-desura-and-fileplanet/
  17. Personally, I very rarely play female characters if I have the choice. I just feel I always struggle with the concept mentally and it distracts from my experience. Oddly, if I am forced to play as a female character, it doesn't bother me as much. May have something to do with my perception as to what level of control I have over the character. If I perceive that the character is "mine" the female option is more difficult. Otherwise, it's just another character. You have accurately summed up my view, as most of you should know I consider myself a vociferous liberal yet I never play females as its probably because I battle with the idea of trying to role-play something I am not. I hope this doesn't sound sexist, because thats not my intention
  18. Now we are talking business, this game is going from amazing to incredible. I like you the way you think Monte, chainmail bikini's can only improve the aesthetics
  19. I don't get your point? Clearly Obsidian is making the game on certain criteria, but as has been mentioned on numerous occasions they like and value the feedback from the community so this post is relevant. Nice post TRX850 l like the following below and the political intrigue that could follow. The party needs to chose sides and there are consequences. It reminds me of Witcher 2 which I loved. Cultural/Political - Outbreak of War - With the War in full swing, a Third Faction joins the War, against both sides - King/Queen or local ruler dies (or is assassinated). Who is next in line? Are they a shady character? Or have they gone missing? - Party is implicated in unlawful activities/espionage
  20. Yip same as me, it all got confusing after the "Hello everybody it's me again, Rob Nesler, Art Director on Project Eternity" But I did see some pretty pictures and thats good enough for me
  21. Mmmm, well I don't agree with everything you are saying. But I will say that a monopoly for any industry is not healthy. That is why I support other gaming download websites like Gamers Gate and Game Stop. But Steam has also allowed Indie developers to get there games distributed using there technology and not made money from this service. So Steam also helps the industry
  22. What about me? I care about your posts, I always support your Design a Monster? Give me some positive attention as well ????
  23. Guys its irrelevant if there is a perception of the West being militarily weak, they have no country that can seriously challenge them. The Russian army is almost completely useless and ineffective. It took them 16 years and 2 civil wars before they could install a semblance of peace in Chechnya. Imagine the mighty Russian bear being unable to conquer a band of mountain guerrillas , and they could only finally achieve peace in Chechnyan by allowing a corrupt and brutal Chechnya to rule the country as a Russian puppet, Ramzan Kadyrov. Seriously you need to read about this guy, he makes Robert Mugabe look like a boy scout. And this is the person the Russians let lose on the Chechnyan rebels http://dailysoviet.wordpress.com/2012/02/15/ramzan-kadyrov-corrupt-flower-loving-pervert/ http://www.kyivpost.com/content/russia-and-former-soviet-union/chechnyas-kadyrov-calls-for-crackdown-on-sorcery-320241.html http://www.jamestown.org/programs/edm/single/?tx_ttnews%5Btt_news%5D=38999&tx_ttnews%5BbackPid%5D=27&cHash=1ba84ce37104da38ba7d1719b34ae987 Finally you can say what you want about the USA but at the moment there military might is untouchable. They have had 13 years of wars in places like Iraq and Afghanistan and these conflicts have honed and refined ther military experience and strategies. And the best thing about there current policies under Obama is that they don't feel the need to constantly threaten other countries using force to effect political changes, but the reality is they could defeat any possible country if they so desired.
  24. Another Quest for Glory inspired Kickstarter? Got my attention. It's really easy to get my attention. Just mention Sierra and instantly I'm listening. Okay this game looks well worth supporting, I like the way they describe the one encounter "Navigate a vast lake to encounter an evil so pure, not even beauty can disguise it" ...a siren? I'll donate to this project, I hope Hurlshot reads this. This should be what he likes as he enjoyed Quest for Glory
  25. I thought you would enjoy it, its just not very long Its a pity they couldn't make a much longer expansion of SD, something where you have to travel the city and kill numerous elite assassins. A bit like Bourne Identity. And each assassin would have his own style of fighting.
