I had a good May Day holiday yesterday, nothing hectic. Just chilled and did some gaming. I'm leaving for a wedding in the mountains in about 2 hours. Its about 4 hours drive from where I live and I love the drive. I get to travel through 3 different provinces and all have got there distinctive characteristics. So it will be very scenic

Can you explain what you mean by "neoliberal economic dogma" I hope its not another " Capitalism is bad, look at the 2008 financial crisis" nonsense. I hear this in South Africa from certain circles

You can join a five guilds, so I'll see if I can get you an invite to mine. Otherwise we can make a small one for the few of us Obsidianites playing, just to help us track each other down. My name is @hurlshot I'm very close to purchasing this game, I am at the end of my normal MMO evaluation period and so far the game is looking good and successfully passed most of my criteria points for MMO investment

What he used to have were some chemical weapons that were given to him or that he bought from the US and used during the war with Iran. Apart from the obvious hypocrisy of accusing him of having something they sold him in the first place, the fact that he had them at some point doesn't lead to conclusion that he would actually use them against the US. By the time the US attacked Iraq he had nothing. The lie was twofold: 1) He had and was producing WMD's in significant quantities 2) Those WMD's are a threat to the US and the "free world". Volo makes some relevant points The whole justification that Western media lies because of the Iraq invasion just gets tiresome and definitely doesn't represent the reality of the state of the veracity of most events the Western media raises Saddam used chemical weapons against the Kurds and the Iranians. There is NO doubt he had them in the past and was prepared to use them in past conflicts. The misinformation that most Western countries intelligence services had were the fact that he still had them. Yes the wrong information was given to various governments and this was used as part of the justification for the second invasion of Iraq But this doesn't negate all the subsequent stories around global events that the Western media brings to our attention Zora, Drowsy, Vals and Sarex you guys really need to stop using the Iraq invasion as a valid reason for why we cannot trust anything the West says. Personally I check multiple sources when it comes to global events and I can corroborate what I say and believe. But I admit I don't use RT as a source of information as I don't trust it in any regards.

I know that's sounds absurd but its partly true

Oh Russian media is not more trustworthy, it's pretty much equally trustworthy as the western media. That you think that western media reports the truth is oh so funny. I love the irony behind one of the great premises of what you conspiracy theorists believe, no Western international news channels can be trusted. " And we know this because we read this on Farmer Johns Alabama Chicken Liver Factory and Unveiling the Truth behind Conspiracy Theories " website ( he sells chicken liver when he is not exposing all these great lies) And yet you claim to know more about the world than some of us as you see what's really going on

What surprises me is that you are surprised he believes that?

Okay I'm even more impressed with your eating choices, well done on the tripe. I enjoy it but that is something loads of people don't eat

And in typical Val's style he blames anything and anyone but himself for misinformation. Well at least you didn't say it was a conspiracy theory...so that's progress in my books When have I posted misinformation? When I have said something was a 'conspiracy theory'? And scroll up Brucie. I was indeed quoting you on the 'NKKK', and I did blame myself. You even quoted it. I guess this is another stellar example of your failure at reading comprehension? A conspiracy theory is misinformation, well almost all of them are. And you operate in a world of conspiracy theories. Sorry that my post may sound nasty but I'm just being honest And once again you are not accepting reality, part of your justification for not getting NKKKK name right is that I also got it wrong. The fact that I didn't use his name correctly shouldn't be any part of your reason

That sounds amazing, I have been to several states in the USA but not Texas. I want to go. I often see various Texas steakhouses on the Food Network Channel that look seriously awesome. These massive and juicy portions of meat

So you thought that California was full of weirdo's. And obviously that was the state you found yourself the most comfortable in? Climate-wise and just the view of driving along the California 1 from LA to SA made it the best state in that regard. Colorado, Utah and Arizona were also breathtaking with their vast vistas. But for people, i would have to vote for Texas. They were very open and welcoming, and had that live-and-let-live combined with the straight talk-attitude. //EDIT: Or the wonderful greenery along Shenandoah and Blue Ridge Parkway. Difficult to decide, in the very end. Its interesting but all the Texans I've ever met in South Africa were these rugged and tough hunters. Very stereotypical Did you eat classic Texas ribs and steak?

A joke is meant as coping mechanism to breach a subject without or with limited consequences, it isn't meant to be taken seriously or to be a reliable source of information. Of a joke the only thing you can accurately say is whether is funny or not. The jester was the only one allowed to tell the king the truth and get away with because he was joking, if the king was so offended by the joke that he killed the jester it was an unspoken confirmation of it being true. Might I say that people who seem to have an issue with a joke getting too real should really stop killing the jester and try to fix some ****. Fair enough but a joke can also be used to demean or ridicule a certain demographic or social issue. And I still fail to see how that's funny?
-
To be honest that joke is about the fact that India has a major problem with rape, its almost inculcated in some parts of the culture. So that joke is highlighting this problem Its not the same type of joke about rape or abuse of women I am referring to which makes light of this serious issue. For example there is "joke" I have heard that goes " what do you tell a women with two black eyes" ..."nothing, she has already been told twice" That's tasteless and not funny

I suppose you could have been offended by what he said to her and the way he dismissed her. As I mentioned it wasn't just a " no I don't like you " it was a personal and malicious rejection of her attention. I was offended and annoyed by his comments Were you just as offended by the lady's rebuttal argument that did the same to the guy? Not in the slightest, it was obviously a reaction to his initial vituperative comments. I'm glad someone responded accordingly Besides he has a good career and nice car and that's what really matters in his world. -
Nah, tasteless would be making a joke on South Africa and one of the kinds of crime it's known for. Yes Malc, that's right. Jokes about rape are never funny under any circumstances. I'm glad you have finally realized that.

Nah, that doesn't sound right Also I'm not sure why you think that just because someone is a lawyer that makes them an expert on the semantics of the words tactics and strategy in the context of an RPG. I don't think the two are connected ....but what do I know

Honestly can you explain how he was trolling? I don't understand how you guys can throw this term around when it comes to some people...NKKK said Bundy was racist. Why is this trolling? 'Trolling' is a subjective term to a large degree. I'll admit that it is not the best of terms to describe what he was doing, because of it's subjectivity. What one person may view as trolling another may not. If it pleases you I'll redefine my view of what he did with his initial post, as in light of his later post it's easier to do this. NKKK initially just came into a thread discussing the problems, trials, and tribulations of the Bundy Stand-off in Nevada and what all has lead to it, and where it might be going, etc, to make a statement that Bundy was racist (something that even if he is has zero bearing on the issues discussed), and because of this he lost of sympathy for Bundy (so it's ok for racists (real or perceived) to have their rights run over and be subject to what's basically military action within the U.S. borders? And someone thinking this thinks others have hate issues?). This added zero to the discussion being had, and was initially unsubstantiated (which adds nothing good to the conversation), hence me using the term 'troll', as it is part of the m.o. of a forum troll to make posts that add nothing good to the conversation and attempt to derail it. An aside. It's mildly ironic that a guy going by the moniker NKKK, is accusing other folks of being racist. New Ku Klux Klan? I don't think so, but he's wide open for that misinterpretation. I'm sorry but the fact he is an ignorant racist is relevant to me, it leads directly to the sympathy I might feel for Bundy and also his own credibility. Did you read his comments? They are embarrassing This whole affair has been presented like some "David vs Goliath". Supporters of Bundy see him as a poor hard working farmer just trying to eke out an existence from the interfering Federal government on land that should belong to Bundy due to the historical context He was seen as a victim of some sort of tyranny and he galvanized support from various groups across the USA as he had the moral high ground. But now that moral high ground is gone, he is a racist and that immediately undermines his position IMO. He should address his own bigotry and insecurity first before attacking what the Federal government is doing
