  1. I don't agree with your assessment of the contribution of the G7 towards the global GDP And this is a discussion that we can have around the facts, not personal views. I'll respond to this later
  2. unfortunatelly there is the funny notion, that to make the enviroment "just", the people who enjoyed certain privilleges should lose them and those privilleges (and more) should be transfered to those who (for whatever reason, even if the previously privilleged had nothing to do with it) did not have them a simple example would be: in my country there was freedom of religion for almost 200 years. in Pakistan there never was that notion. now that many Pakistanis are in my country, the liberals advocate that all non muslim religious symbols should be removed from public view, in order to promote the feeling of freedom of religion. practically that means oppress all other religious groups that enjoyed the freedom to worship whatever they liked for the sake of a single group that they consider oppressed (even if it never actually was neither here nor in their homeland) You make some good points, especially the comments " the people who enjoyed certain privileges should lose them and those privileges (and more) should be transfered to those who (for whatever reason, even if the previously privileged had nothing to do with it) did not have them Ï see this in South Africa on some levels and it doesn't actually help to transform the economic reality of previously disadvantaged people. Because there is view of entitlement with no concept of working to achieve this. Of course this doesn't apply to everyone but the issue does exist
  3. he may appear but only if you have not killed him in witcher 2 and load that save at the start of witcher 3 (it was confirmed that the choices of 2, if you import the save, will create alterations to the world of 3) I never killed Letho, I thought he made a convincing argument about why he was involved in the assassinations For me the survival of the Witchers was more important that the killings of some rulers.
  4. Fair enough, last comment from me about this. Gnostic, Prime and myself have worked out all the details of this bet so going forward we will use PM to discuss any changes
  5. That's true except for the fact that G8 produce 60% of the worlds GDP So if you are arguing that global economic strength is irrelevant and inconsequential then yes the G8/G7 is irrelevant But considering the reality that the most important consideration for almost countries in the world is the state of there economies you will have to position a very compelling argument to convince me that the G7/G8 is irrelevant And yes Russia being suspended from the G8 is important. Its another step to isolate them and get them to behave in way that is more acceptable to most of the international community
  6. yes, and flemmeth IS andraste, and you are morrigan's hellspawn... hmmm. that would perhaps be too creepy even for a bio romance. HA! Good Fun! Gromnir always remember that the word "creepy" is very subjective What is creepy for you may be perfectly normal for me
  7. Holy smoke, this post highlights just how impressive that trailer really is Any company that can pierce the phlegmatic exterior of an English gentleman and create a modicum of excitement is good....really, really good. Well done CDPR, if you can galvanize interest from the English this game will be a winner !!!
  8. Don't be scared Malc, these forums won't hurt you. I can imagine how nervous you must be with that madman killing police in your country and still on the lose !!! http://www.cnn.com/2014/06/05/world/canada-shooting/
  9. Seems like a problem with the receiving end then, to be honest. Not sure what the reason for the argument is anyway, not like any of you are actually going to change your stance at all so. Well other than just being **** as usual. Such cynicism young grasshopper, such cynicism. Did it ever occur to you that maybe after reading all the various comments someone who was going to pirate something will decide not to?
  10. he already conceded that he pirates. am recalling a specific and somewhat amusing example of textbooks, yes? *shrug* we don't drink alcohol, so perhaps we is being naive when we observe that posting on message boards while inebriated is a recipe for disaster. HA! Good Fun! I think you are making perfect sense so don't think the alcohol is making your logic incoherent. The issue is Sarex just doesn't understand how businesses work, grow or the important role they play in the economies of countries
  11. Wowzers, that trailer is one of the best trailers I've ever seen in my life
  12. That menu looks amazing, I also would have ordered "nose to tail". I have never had pigs ears before, how were they? Crunchy Actually they were really good and paired nicely with the pork belly and grits They also had a few bacon themed ****tails mixed drinks (is that okay, language filter?). My wife ordered one called the Kevin Bacon and I had the Bill Brasky because, you know... BILL BRASKY! Shady don't forget to go sometime to the Buckhorn Exchange, according to the website its the original steakhouse in Denver. Its been going for over 120 years !!! http://buckhorn.com/
  13. " this is getting ludicrous, even for Gromnir" No Gromnir don't give up, it will be a first for you and your record for debating right to the end will be ruined. Be resolute !!!!
  14. Suck it. Yeah, I went there.
  15. Trish Merigold..."sigh" That's a definite
  16. That menu looks amazing, I also would have ordered "nose to tail". I have never had pigs ears before, how were they?
  17. Sushi for supper, yummy
  18. CDPR never ceases to delight with its value adds for its fans, I'll be buying a hardcopy of this game for sure
  19. sure there would. 'pon reflection, is probable an excellent barometers o' mod success. Gromnir tends to be adversarial and uncompromising. if we were looking for mods, we would want ones who didn't becoming gibbering nutters in the face o' our colorful posting style. that being said, we wouldn't normal have brought the tn conflict up at all, 'cause as you note, we has conflicts with many boardies. however, as we said, the rant were complete unexpected. were notable 'cause it were unprovoked. as such, we didn't get into it with him at the time. it were strange. HA! Good Fun! I generally enjoy our debates and I find your opinion on many topics interesting, of course I don't always agree with you but that doesn't mean its not entertaining. But I really try to not take debates personally or get emotional , I can have a heated discussion on one topic then move on to another topic with no ill will.
  20. Truer words have never been spoken. This is the most offending thing I have ever read in the internets! How dare you say to someone, whose only dream is to be a mod, his dream is the reason he should not be elected!?! How dare you sirs!? How. Dare. You. " whose only dream is to be a mod "
  21. Funny how Sarex is the common link in both discussions, tells you something about his debating etiquette And I find funny how many people from another part of the world think, they know better about what's going on in Ukraine, because Fox News or some similar "news" said so... So in your opinion only people who live in a particular country can give an informed view about an event or situation in that country? You do realize there is only one person on these forums, as far as I know, who lives in Ukraine and has commented in that discussion and its not Sarex? Only one reply to this, because I do not want to derail thread and I never talk about politics on internet. The fact is that the far away are you living from the place of conflict, the more skewed the news are, that is the fact, because like it or not, US, EU and Russia all have their own political and economical agendas in Ukraine and most of the medias are far away from independent on covering most of what is happening, including most of the medias here in Slovakia. Another fact is that Ukrainian citizens, (it depends not if they have Ukrainian, Russian or another nationality), know the best what is happening there. But you still have to cherry pick these information as well, because some of them are doing propaganda of their own side as well. The situation, as always, is not Black and White, it is in thousands shades of grey and both sides of the conflict believe in their own truth. That's a good post and this will also be my last comment because I don't want to get accused of derailing the thread despite the fact several of us are discussing it ( Hi Hiro ) I agree with most of what saying. But don't underestimate the accuracy of reporters that are based in Ukraine and are reporting for international news channels and there reporting contains the same information. Surely you can see there must be truth to what they are saying?
  22. Quite right: since this is a game, there's even less (reasonable) obligation than usual to have to "interact" with NPCs than usual, eh? Look at you Barti, catching me out with logic Fair enough, but what about missing out on side quests or content related to Romance? Do you really want to deny yourself extra gaming time just because of an aversion to Romance, if you think about it honestly Barti you will realize I'm right
  23. I don't post in that thread anymore and I was responding directly to a comment from Mamoulian if that's alright with you?
  24. Malc you have to admit its always better playing an RPG where you can explore the various Romance arcs? Nope he doesn't. Planescape: Torment Arcanum of Steampunk and Magik Obscura Vampire: Bloodlines To name a few. An engaging story does not need active romantic pursuits for the protagonist to engage in. Romance does not make writing engaging or good just by being present. Good writing is what makes writing good. Ideally, if the romantic arcs were well written and did not take away resources from other aspects of the game, then, if they weren't forced down people's throats, one could make an argument that it is always better to have more options. But it is not better to play a game with crap on the side just for having crap on the side over one that doesn't have that. After all, most of us here enjoy a good steak, none of us though would ask for the cow to crap next to the plate. (yeah I know, terrible analogy. Just pretend it was said by Al Pacino or someone else who can get away with saying anything in a movie.) I didn't explain my point properly. I'm not saying you have to have Romance to have an engaging RPG ( but I do think it enhances and makes party interaction more significant ) I am saying if an RPG offers optional Romance its better to partake of them than to ignore them Let's try another analogy... Would you in real life take part in "optional" romance with someone who is not attractive for you or would you rather ignore it? But we aren't talking about RL and Romance. We are talking about an RPG and deeper interaction with party members through a Romance arc
