If I can perform complex tasks when I sleepwalk and do strange stuff, what if I strangle or stab somebody? Yes there are cases of this, recently on a prominent radio station in South Africa they were discussing exactly this. Its a type of sleep disorder where people can talk and perform actions but they asleep and don't remember anything. I forget the sleep disorders name, its rare but real.

Welcome back Always remember to support the implementation of Romance in PoE 2 !!!

I also found the questions and format perfectly legible and I'm rather stupid, so you clever people should have had no problem @ Hiro and Stun I'm happy to explain anything in the interview you guys didn't understand. And don't be embarrassed to ask, you guys have often gone into great details when you explain your perspective. So its won't be an inconvenience from my side ?

The Official Romance Thread
BruceVC replied to Blarghagh's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
, We all understand and accept the fact that there wont be Romance in PoE but this doesn't help to alleviate the melancholic mood, on some levels, that this logical decision from Obsidian creates Especially when we know that games like DA:I and Witcher 3 will have Romance options, I know PoE will be an excellent RPG....it could just be better with Romance -
I'm not working today so I'll be doing my packing and last bits of shopping. Tonight I'm flying out at 19:00 and I'll be arriving in London at 5 am tomorrow, something also cool. Our family flat is above the Sydney Arms pub, so I won't have far to walk if I want to go for a drink Check the photos http://www.sydneyarmschelsea.com/gallery.html

Gratz, nice one What type of work will you be doing?
-
Are you sure? Yes. My cat can't do that anymore and he also can't close doors. Woldan my advice is don't worry about it, there is an explanation you just haven't found it yet and it doesn't mean you are losing your mind The most obvious explanation is you either sleep walked and opened the door or you were semi-awake and opened the door and then went back to sleep. But either way you wouldn't have remembered it. There are cases of people who have conversations with people in a state of semi-sleep and don't even remember it, I know people like this. So don't worry about it too much

Are you sure? Cats are so cute, I love cats Talking about cats what happened to Lady C? Does anyone know, I miss her ....

If you look at that list of nations, the abstains pretty much represent those thoroughly under the UK/EU/US banking cartel's thumb, the 'yes' votes pretty much represent those nations who would be free of that oppression if they could, and then you have the U.S..... what a disgusting disgrace that vote. You see this is exactly what I knew you guys were going to say and what 2133 was actually alluding to. But he can't really be bothered to explain further You guys think its a conspiracy, that certain countries only abstained due to some sort of surreptitious influence from the USA or Western banking circles. But sometimes there is no conspiracy, just what a particular country thinks is best for its own national interest. And in this case they are obviously more concerned with the Islamic extremist element within Hamas than the loss of Palestinian lives. Because a Yes vote is really a vote to support Hamas, even if it seems unfair And I'm not unconcerned with the loss of Palestinian civilians, I am just trying to be realistic

I think you are nitpicking now What is listed are fundamental parts of the one game and then there is a direct comparison to the other game and 75 % of the features don't exist in that game, counting the fact certain RPG will always have similar traits I stand by the comment its enough evidence to say that games aren't similar?

-It is turn based. Like FFT-You fight on square grids. Like FFT-A maximum of 4 characters can be used in combat. Not Like FFT-You get into combat by touching enemies on the map. Not Like FFT-You cannot move where you want and attack in the same turn. You have to choose. Do I want to move out of the way of an AoE spell, or do I stay put and try to unleash my own attack. Not Like FFT-I played it a while ago, but I think you can interrupt enemy spells when they are charging. Not Like FFT-There's a turn order bar. You can see who's about to attack and it is possible for both you and your enemies to use this to your/their advantage. Not Like FFT-You have your regular options like Attack, Move, Art (spells), Craft (special attacks you can use when you gain SP), Item, Run. Similar to FFT, but similar to many turn based RPGs-Buffs and debuffs can be very useful. Not like FFT-No grinding is needed. You might have to grind for one level at times. There is a diminishing exp gain from the same area once you gain levels. Similar to FFT, which didn't really need grinding although you could do it to uber your characters.-You use orbments to customize your characters and their skills/spells. Go to 5:15 and they show the orbment system. You can customize your characters and skills/spells with FFT's Job System, but I'm saying "Similar" rather than "Like"So Tally is 2 Likes, 6 Not Likes and 3 Similars Ruling is NOT LIKE This is another thing I admire about you, your absolutely tenacity and analytical thinking that is impossible to dispute when you apply yourself. Good post, you have single handedly settled the argument Volo just admit you were wrong, you will feel much better about this whole debate later on

Yeah that's what you call a career limiting move I suppose it could be fake but the reality is we already know Russia is giving military aid to Ukraine in several ways

IGN Article about PoE.
BruceVC replied to GrayAngel's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Ah I thought that offtopic chatter was already ended... But just to answer your questions (I won't go further into that matter, as I think I have spoken my mind already): 1) That sidenote about her being half-asian was just to paint a picture. But yeah, I can see why that might appear to be a racist comment in retrospective. Let's just ignore it and take it for what it is: a description. 2) Not unusual for female gamers, but unusual for streamers that usually go with "whatever is popular right now". 3) Huh, game reviewers? I wasn't talking about them. ... and it was just an exageration to make a point. Don't take it literally. 4) Again, not talking about reviewers? I'm talking about camgirls camouflaging as streamers 5) Being a good entertainer, pretty much. When talking about streamers, it is mostly conversational and improvising skills. It's about catching the mood of a game and delivering it in your commentary. And the socializing of being part of a group aswell. Of course, there is a certain entertainment value in the human body itself, but it's kind of like the difference between "light entertainment" in afternoon television and a great theatre play. And no, that doesn't automaticly mean that a revealing outfit disqualifies for being taken serious. But there is a difference between looking sexy and being obvious about your intents. But yeah, back to topic. Okay thanks for responding, I did misunderstand you around certain points so I apologize for that. I won't comment any further because I don't want to hijack this thread -
Wow Hiro you really like to nitpick...why would you like to know what's so good about a game? That's like saying....errr....oh wait you right. Its best to know the positive points in a game when a decision is made to invest in it. Good call

And I imagine you need to read and think before you post. The stated purpose of the inquiry is to investigate *ALL* int'l law and human rights violations in Gaza since the start of military operations, not just Israel's. "Don't owe the USA anything", lol. Wake up and smell the coffee. Bah, why do I bother. Please bother, it hurts me when you say you don't bother Germany is not happy with the USA at the moment. There diplomatic relations are frosty at the moment due to the bugging by the NSA of Angela Merkel's phone http://news.yahoo.com/u-s--spying-on-merkel-sparks-scorn--bugged-phone-jokes-in-germany-141830328.html;_ylt=A0LEVylAC9pT_U0AGB9XNyoA;_ylu=X3oDMTEzODU0bG1mBHNlYwNzcgRwb3MDMwRjb2xvA2JmMQR2dGlkA1ZJUDM4NF8x So Germany is not going to vote a certain way just because of the USA. They are voting objectively based on what would be best approach for the situation So who exactly is Germany being servile to by abstaining?

IGN Article about PoE.
BruceVC replied to GrayAngel's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
I hope you aren't succumbing to "It takes one to know one"-arguments, because that would be essentialist IMHO. You are right, that's not my intention. But sometimes I do think the opinion of a particular group purely to share there own personal experiences is relevant. Sometimes its not relevant at all., for example there are women in South Africa who think the role of a women is to stay at home and let the man make any important decisions. Which I don't agree with at all unless it really is through an informed decision making process and not just because of the anachronistic view of the gender roles. In other words " female should be barefoot and pregnant and getting the dinner ready when the man comes home" -

point is that having sombrero or being gardener doesnt make him more attractive reviewer for opposit gender. Do you really dont see difference? He cant capitalise on that. Seriously, I am starting to wonder if you skip my questions on purpose I think you are misunderstanding the context of my point You cannot make a generalisation about something in life, which is an insulting generalisation, and use that to justify something positive. Because it immediately undermines the positive point you are trying to make For example if I say "wow the 2014 FIFA world cup was amazing, well done Brazil. I didn't think Brazil could pull it off considering the fact South Americans are so backward and there governments are so corrupt " -

If having an issue or disagreeing with people that make unsubstantiated and unhelpful comments around issues like gender representation means I am a "precious snowflake " that's fine for me. It won't change my perspective on this Let me give you another example, what would you think if there was a Mexican gaming reviewer and I made a comment that was well meant but came across as "hey guys, I came across this half-Latino ( I think ) gaming reviewer who was really cool. He didn't sit there stuffing his face with burrito's and he didn't even wear a sombrero. Also the most amazing thing about this Mexican was he didn't work as a gardener....he really had a some good insights into gaming" Even if my intention wasn't, which it wasn't mean to be, to insult Mexicans the types of generalizations I was making are insulting to Mexicans So I tell you what Monte, hopefully some lady members will comment on this topic because it obvious you and I won't agree on whether the type of characterization of female gaming reviewers by Zwiebelchen is actually unintentionally offensive. I find it offensive but maybe I'm wrong -

BruceVC replied to GrayAngel's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
No I reject the accusation that I am being unreasonable Zwiebelchen made a point that he found a female gaming reviewer that was really good, but its the reason he gave that she was so good that bothers me. He said she didn't rely on sexual innuendo, tight clothes and stripper make-up. The suggestion is that there are female gaming reviewers that rely on this to be recognised. I asked for examples of female gaming reviewers who follow this clearly "unacceptable" approach to gaming reviews. So I need examples if that's what people think or this to me is just a way to dismiss and undermine the contribution that female gaming reviewers make -
Looks like gay romances are in. That made me laugh....they should work on the animations

IGN Article about PoE.
BruceVC replied to GrayAngel's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
1) maybe he consider half-asians more attractive - nothing sexist or racist 2) he write its unusual game not, unusual for girl to play it 3) oh cmon, you can tell stripper/hooker from common 'make-up' girl by looks and to be honest, do you prepare make up, style your hairs, suit up etc. before you start playing any game? 4) those which want to attract guys more by looks then what they are saying - yes (as in all media business) 5) probably enjoyed her lets playing, good comments, good work with software, entertaining etc Cmon Bruce, no need to look for white knight opportunity everywhere My opinion has got nothing to do with white knighting, my point is much broader than that. Its about the intentional and unintentional bias and judgement many of us seem to pass on women when they have role in an industry that is deemed by many as traditionally male dominated. Women seemed to be held to a different standard and criticized on this standard. And the reality is most of the time this criticism in unfounded and is really based on the fact people don't like changes to the status quo around gender representation on many levels in society So lets deal with something relevant to this discussion. Female gaming reviewers. You guys have brought to my attention a possible problem which I want to discuss. It seems that there are groups of female gaming reviewers who use stripper makeup and tight revealing clothes as a strategy to discuss and review games when in fact they don't have any insight or credible knowledge of a particular game Can you provide links and some examples of this sordid behaviour, this is obviously very important to the discussion? -

Stun the games will be very different on certain levels, for example DA:I and the Witcher 3 is going to have Romance which for people like us is a massively compelling component in a RPG. But you are also right, there is no reason why we can't compare them but I would suggest purely from an entertainment perspective as it would be unreasonable to compare factors in games that don't exist. For example you can't say "DA:I is a better game than PoE because it has Romance", but it may offer a more entertaining overall experience ?
