  1. Bruce has been through enough as of late, what with the whole Zoe Quinn fiasco and then AssCreed: Sausage Fest revealing the female character, only to find out she's not playable. No need to (continue to) kick a man when he's down. That's true, I'm a SJ wreck at the moment....no need to exacerbate my fragile emotional state
  2. I don't block anyone- even gimmick accounts who commit grievous insults against the purity of dear sweet logic. If you don't have the discipline not to reply to something pointless you're either taking things far too seriously or should remove yourself from the internet for your own sanity. Or you have far too much time on your hands. Same as me, I've never blocked anyone ever. I just choose not to comment if I don't want to and I also believe if you block someone who you always disagree with you won't ever understand any dissenting opinions. And sometimes different perspectives are important to understand a big picture around a topic
  3. Yeah because Russia would never claim to want to send aid to a region but instead send weapons....oh wait they already did this, you remember Abkhazia? I can understand the concerns from the Ukrainian government but these aid trucks do appear to be legitimate? So hopefully no one does anything to provoke Russia because the civil war is apparently not going well for the separatists and Russia is looking for any excuse to intervene militarily
  4. Everything gets pirated. Freakin' open source programs freely available get pirated. In fact, the pirates that pirated the Pillars of Eternity Beta were themselves pirated, by pirates that were also themselves pirated. We're so many layers deep in pirating now that I'm not sure there is anything legitimate left in the world, it's all pirated copies of pirated copies. Sounds like pirate talk to me! If Keyrock is pirate copy himself, is it illegal to read his posts? In other news it looks like RPS don't like the new Shadowgate remake that much. Keyrock...plzzzz don't tell us you pirate games....that would break my heart
  5. Fans got what they wanted.. IIRC majority did not want romance (there was a vote, right?), even more so, when you would have to sacrifice other parts of the experience for it. The poll made no sense. Instead of giving choices of wanting romance or not wanting romance, it presented 9 options of not wanting romance to different degrees and 9 options of "maybe / don't care" phrased in 9 different ways and 1 option of wanting romance. Obviously the way the poll was made ensured the result to favor "no romance". But no matter what the developers choose to have in their game, it makes no difference to me. I registered an account and was planning to buy this game after checking out the beta responses. Seeing the community here though,I won't be buying the game after all. You guys can have fun with your perfect little gem of a game untainted by bad excuse of "video game romance writings". I will be replaying my $5 dollars budget RPGmaker game filled with the best love story I have ever experienced in any medium while waiting for the 1 man studio's next game A Bird Story to come out. No, don't leave There are lots of people who like Romance, they just aren't as vociferous as the people who are opposed to them on these forums. Most people on this thread want some form of Romance. They just don't want your standard " Bioware, give me a present to have sex " Romance implementation. We want more realistic and meaningful Romance
  6. Wow, that's a very defensive and unhelpful comment. Of course I'm interested, why else would I ask....I mean how else can I disagree with you if I don't know what you think But on a serious note it concerns me that you think that is the reason I asked you that, I obviously have created the wrong impression about why I ask certain questions. You often give interesting and pertinent views on various topics, like all your advice on London. And I do resect your views, I just don't always agree with them. But that's not the same thing as saying "I'm not interested in your opinion "
  7. Absolutely. This is why your kulturkampf is so bitter - in Europe we genuinely have WTF moments over the stuff Americans feel so bitter about. Guns and abortion. ORLY? Mind you, Centrist, stale government is becoming a feature of Western European politics, but that will change. The post WW2 global settlement is now completely dead, it's twitching corpse making ripples that will affect us all. I think, soon, arguing about guns and bibles might seem quaint compared to the more urgent challenges the West will face. And in your opinion what are urgent issues the West faces?
  8. Fans got what they wanted.. IIRC majority did not want romance (there was a vote, right?), even more so, when you would have to sacrifice other parts of the experience for it. A correction there, there have been numerous polls done and the vast majority of fans want some form of Romance. But the decision to include Romance wasn't a decision the fans made, Obsidian decided this. And end of the day its there prerogative to decide what components they can effectively implement in PoE. If they say " we wouldn't be able to do this feature properly " then I would rather they leave it out as it will just draw unnecessary criticism to the overall project
  9. Not really, Gromnir brought it up previously and basically no one else has said anything, except Nepenthe noting it wasn't a very flattering comparison for US police. Given the context I wouldn't be surprised if he thought I was Russian rather than being a proud citizen of the least corrupt* nation of earth**, and he was Scoring a Point by mentioning eastern Europe's police. *alternative interpretation since it's a perception index: country best at self delusion, burying their head in the sand and being smug about not being corrupt. **OK, equal with Denmark. Bloody Scandics, always getting in our way on the indices. I notice you and Zora aren't debating each other anymore, you both get did a little personal in your last debates. I enjoy you guys debating because you both have intellectual and interesting styles of debating etiquette My advice is both apologize to each other and both admit things got a little heated? Also I learnt something years ago, and I know this is hard to implement on a forum, but in life you can sometimes lose an argument or debate when you win it , because the person you are debating with gets such a bad impression by the end of the debate that they decide they won't discuss anything with you anymore...they would rather just avoid you because of the potential acrimony that comes with having a debate. And to be avoided in life because of what people perceive about you is never a good thing, especially if the person has lot to offer other people. And both of you do have a lot to offer others *chuckle* closest to heated we has gotten in months is ros bs notions wherein he assumed that he knew what life is like for Gromnir simple base on fact that we is American... and speaking to his ancestors raping our ancestors, we kid you not. zor can't get us heated. we like zor posts. is too little humor on these boards. HA! Good Fun! Okay, well that's good to know I thought you guys were avoiding debating each other, it wasn't like you both said " I'm done debating with you and I'm going to block you " ( that's happened to me and its never nice to think someone wants to block your posts)...its more what you two didn't say to each other after the last discussion
  10. I'm also looking forward to what the increasing number of female gaming fans means for the future of gaming, my favourite genre is obviously RPG. And RPG are mostly pretty inclusive when it comes to gender representation but I wonder what, if anything, would change if you take a game like PoE and now say " our target market is primarily female" ? I don't expect too much would be different because a RPG like PoE has universal themes that appeal to everyone, its more about the love of fantasy that both genders play these types of games?

  12. Hm...no, I don't see why we should. Who cares if they deal with harsh crap that they sign up for ? If they can't hack it without becoming power tripping bullies, then they should find another line of work. Or perhaps look into joining up with OC groups. If they do good things, well again, that's their job, but not really relevant when talking about their abuses of authority or lusting for escalation. And how does that relate to this particular idiot showing brilliant control by aiming a rifle at someone to the point another officer had to be the adult and lead him away ? No what he means is the 90 % are doing an excellent job, so don't judge the whole police force on the 10 % bad. In other words he isn't trying to justify the 10 % bad but they don't represent all the good work the entire Police force does. And I tend to agree with this sentiment ...."don't throw the baby out with the bath water "
  13. Good point Hurlshot, especially when we know that the term "stable family" is relative and very subjective Look at you for example. Excellent family man, devoted husband and good role model to your kids yet you have had an understandable fallout with your immediate family. Can you say you have a stable family
  14. Absolutely no proof of that, at all. If there's a Satan, or some such entity, they are laughing with glee at you and all those who think similar. Anyone on this planet long enough that doesn't regularly go hunting for sandworms head first and that truly thinks, knows that stable families are the bedrock of a stable civilization. It's a 101 concept in pretty much all of the humanities and life. The evidence of this is everywhere. And it's something that many do still realize, both those who want the stable society and those who want to bring it down. The latter seem to sadly be winning, and they are laughing with glee as well. I don't disagree that stable families are important but I don't get the connection between a gay couple and stable family? You don't? You're the one who keeps trying to make one. I said nothing about homosexuality. Well I assume that was what WOD was alluding to,. I may be wrong though. My bad for assuming you were saying the same thing. I apologize
  15. Well I can say with almost complete certainty his career is basically over, I heard he has already been suspended. Its sad really because he made it easy for people to find obvious examples of "aggressive policemen " to now prosecute and make an example of ...also he clearly hasn't been on sensitivity training.
  16. "A real thing". Strange. I'm not following you, why is that strange?

The latter seem to sadly be winning, and they are laughing with glee as well. IF there is a satan, and there is no more proof he exists than any other form of divine being, with a totally different style of morality than what we have. So, I'll take that chance. I might've spoken to soon though, for claritys sake, what do you define as a stable family? White Christians who live in compounds in remote areas to avoid the creeping influence of the Lizard Jews. The thought of that really made me laugh
  18. I just love how these "[brand name] lore in [small number] minutes" videos are completely unintelligible to anyone whose first language is not english That's an interesting observation because your English on the forums is impeccable yet you battle with the video, but you are also right. The commentator speaks very quickly and this is obviously much harder to understand for a person who is not a native English speaker
  19. Nice, but just to be clear are you saying the PC game of D&D or the original pen and paper game? Because you say Developers and I'm not sure how they fit into the pen and paper game?
  20. That's a good enough endorsement for me
  21. That's true we are comparing moral and effective, but I will maintain that you have to have some morality to be remembered as a good and effective leader There is no such thing as a perfect leader because the question of morality around a leaders actions become subjective But on the question of Churchill vs Stalin, you not seriously putting them in the same camp are you?
  22. Likewise. And I assert that collectivization was a success as it fulfilled its stated goal. It rapidly collectivized agriculture turning millions of ineffective small scale farms into a couple of hundred thousand large, efficient collectively owned farms serviced with tractors and machinery; in turn this was able to provide a push for mass industrialization in urban centres which doubled the urban populace. Naturally such a large scale endeavour was not executed flawlessly; disruption of agricultural norms certainly antagonized sections of the populace, local officials often used coercive means to encourage collectivization. Furthermore this was obviously the final rift between the Soviet state and the enemy capitalist Kulak class, as the Kulaks resisted Soviet collectivization and tried to sabotage it by slaughtering cattle and so on (although the extent of this was greatly exaggerated by the Soviets). Of course this all coincided with a terrible draught which combined with heavy handed Soviet policies, Kulak sabotage and an all around ****ty harvest resulted in a terrible famine. Despite all this, agriculture stabilized by 1935 and became much more efficient than ever before thereby bringing an end to major famines in the region. I enjoy having debates with you because I do think you are a reasonable person who makes good points, we just don't agree on Stalin being a good leader. So when I said I don't want to debate this particular point anymore its not that I am annoyed or frustrated, its just that I can't say anything more on this topic to convince you

  24. I'd just be interested in reading them. Really? You really want to destroy the excitement of the narrative...you are a reasonable person. Why would you want to do this?
