  1. Well, the KQ games weren't point and click to begin with, not the early ones anyway. If they really want to stay true to the series' roots they should go with a text parser. In other news: I have to say that mouse looks cute
  2. So that's what it's about then, not the rape charges huh.So much for that. And what harm did he cause with his leaks to the US exactly? I mean we can't exactly count Assange's leaks all over american politicians faces as harm, can we? McCain's chestnuts behind his cheeks didn't grow as a result of him getting leaks all over his face and him deciding to save some for later, did they? Are we discussing the first wave of leaks that showed the inhuman treatment and killings of Iraqi civilians? Saying that it harmed the US is like saying that he published a video of a crime and the video harmed the criminal. Or are we discussing the second wave of leaks in which all we see is politicians **** talking each other in tweets and emails? Wow, it turns out that the Egyptian president talked **** behind Iran's president's back! It turns out the everyone thinks the Israelis are stubborn and bullheaded. It turns out that Obama wears pink trousers at home. Cite a single harm that came to the United States as a country as a result of the second wave of the leaks. A single sanction towards the US from the rest of the world or a single political agreement signing falling through. The argument "well you cant say how much damage was done by Wikileaks " is irrelevant to the charges Assange should face in the USA because we will never be able to quantify how much damage was done in the diplomatic arena between various countries. We know it caused certain denials and embarrassment throughout the world The issue I have with Wikileaks is much simpler. Every single country in the world has confidential and secretive communications between its embassies and its home country. Now either you believe that a country is entitled to confidentiality around this information or you believe they don't. Assange took it on himself to not only make public this information but he was mostly selective around the country he decided to target, the USA I have no sympathy for him, he manipulated many people into thinking that this was " a crusade to exposure the great lies in the world " when in fact this was his attempt to undermine the USA and the result of that was undermining most of the Western world as diplomatic cables are not suppose to be made available to the general public.
  3. By your logic important and influential countries must suck US lingam. It's obvious substitution of concepts. As i tell before we are quite happy when our enemies blaming us, much worse when they praise us as it been during ****ty rule of Gorbachev and Yeltzin. Western approval of our actions is not needed for us, i even wondering why someone can think what Russians do want Western praise. That's the thing, the West isn't critical of Putin for moving more and more away from a Democracy because a dictatorship doesn't necessarily suit them. Its in the best interests of the Russian people to be part of a Democratic system. Democracies work and are the best way to uplift all the people in a particular country both socially and economically So I don't expect the Russian people to want approval from Western countries, I would never ask any country to do that. I expect the Russian people to want the best possible government for themselves. And the way Putin is running the country and making political decisions confirms these aren't in the best long term interests of Russia
  4. Wowzers Keyrock, did you get out of the wrong side of bed this morning....I'm not use to you being dismissive of gaming topics If you don't like the topic just don't comment, obviously people are interested in this type of poll as we can see from the amount of interest it has gathered. Also I would argue this post is unique because the OP is asking you to choose one and give your reasons why you choose only one. So for me its been relatively informative
  5. What I am hoping for is that Assange gets send to Sweden and while he is facing trial there the USA submits extradition papers. Then he can address the real charges against him, the fact he allowed confidential information to be made available to the general public through Wikileaks. And lets not deny why he did this, he had a personal issue with the USA and went out his way to cause them as much embarrassment and harm as possible based on the information he had
  6. Its your personal choice if you choose to play a certain game, there are many reasons that people don't play games. Lillyhime is not saying " no one should play this game because there isn't a female protagonist". She is simply saying she won't play the game. This does not make her a sexist in any way. In life if you are unhappy with the decisions a certain development makes around a game then vote with your wallet by not buying the game. Once again this is her personal view that she is entitled to it without being accused of being a sexist
  7. Assange is about to make a live news conference before he hands himself over, this will be interesting
  8. There is nothing sexist about a person asking a development company to be concerned about gender representation for the protagonist in there games? This is a reasonable request and expectation
  9. ... what? ... what? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assange_v_Swedish_Prosecution_Authority Yeah, he has real charges to face in Sweden and was fighting extradition
  10. http://www.thelocal.se/20140818/julian-assange-may-hand-himself-in-police It looks like this saga is finally over. After hiding out in the Ecuadorian embassy in London for the last 2 years Julian Assange due to health reasons may be forced to leave and face arrest. Its about time, he made a mockery of the Internet and decided he would be the person who would bring to our attention all the private diplomatic cables from USA diplomats, irrespective if they put peoples lives at risk. Since when did he become the judge and jury of what the public should see? There is a reason we have confidential communications between countries. Also he needs to face those rape chargers in Sweden.
  11. Apart from the general public. That is if you don't mind me interrupting your swan-shaped fantasy land of righteous anarchists and evil politicos. Also we need to ask "what prism has the West expected to see Russia in " ? Its really been about points like the expectation that Russia abides by the principles of Democracy within its own country and respects the international sovereignty of countries. Also unreasonable vetoes in the UN security council are not appreciated, like Syria. This is not arrogant but rather how important and influential countries, like Russia, should behave in the 21st century
  12. Be honest Bruce. It came right down to the romances didn't it? No that wasn't even a factor in my decision making process because both games offer Romance
  13. I think this is a valid reason, if a game doesn't allow you to play as a female protagonist then points need to be deducted from its overall score But as far as the Witcher is concerned, and I'm sure you are aware of this, the games are based on the books which are about the journeys and adventures of Geralt. So the developers can't really deviate from the original story as far as making him a female character because the narrative and lore are inextricably tired to his character
  14. This was a tough question for me because I'm very excited about both games, but if I had to choose I would go with Witcher 3 For me the Witcher genre encapsulates more of a traditional fantasy world than the DA series. But it was a close call between the 2 games
  15. Excellent news, I'll be taking my time with this game. I want to see everything, so I am expecting to spend about 110-130 hours on this game
  16. Is there any other kind of companies? Besides the ones led by gay people. Okay well Polish labour laws must be different to other countries. I work for a large global corporation and I work for other corporations all the time and I have never heard of a company that would allow any male in that company to be able to slap the asses of its female staff. All companies have codes of conduct around this this type of behaviour and its most definitely prohibited Also its highly unlikely any women would enjoy this type of attention unless it was from there partner. The idea that you really think that most women would consider this to fun or normal amazes me?
  17. Which proves exactly what, aside from the fact that the system is rigged to favor the rich? What women do or do not do is not a part of the system. I seriously doubt that the any women says "I will allow this guy to molest me but not that one because the system is rigged", no they allow this guy because they want to. So, you have found a person who likes a little slapping. Good for you! Given the fact that studies say about 35% of adults are into BDSM to an extent, I'm frankly surprised it took you so long. But having kinky preferences doesn't mean said person is into "violent, abusive guys". It's not ONE person it's all of them. What. Usually a question end with "?", you know. Wait, are you telling me you work for a company where management can go around slapping the asses of attractive girls and not only is this allowed but the girls themselves don't mind this?
  18. http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2013/11/05/the_seduction_of_george_w_bush_by_vladimir_putin Guys I suggest you read this, kgambit sent it to. It explains some of the tensions that exist between Russia and USA and the presidential relationship since Bush junior. It also gives some interesting information around Georgia and why the USA didn't intervene militarily. Its a long read but trust me the insights are worth it, especially if you want to understand why the West treats Putin a certain way
  19. Your articles are just someone's opinion that happens to correspond to your own. We have plenty of unemployed people who could use those jobs. To say illegal immigration doesn't cost us anything is ridiculous, 20 years ago Harry Reid ranted that 25% of births in California public hospitals was to illegals. Who's paying for those births? Every child of illegals born in the US is an immediate US citizens, eligible for all welfare benefits. All they have to do is have half a dozen kids, then live high off the hog on the US taxpayer. And what's the rate now, 50%? 80%? California has 4 times as many poor as any other state, where do you think those poor are coming from? Education is free for them, medical services are free, often housing is. Who's paying for all that? Just to deal with the current immigration crisis, Obama asked for 4 billion dollars just as a supplement, just for a short time, that's more than the entire 2000 mile fence, assuming 2 million dollars per mile. Do you know that the government actually gives tax id numbers to illegals, theoretically so they could pay taxes (lol), but they actually use them to fraudulently obtain billions of dollars from the government by filing fake tax returns. Not to mention all the other crimes they're committing, all the social problems they create. Just a few days ago here an apparent illegal killed a family of four in a car accident trying to escape the police. Normally a society tries to eradicate poverty, we're intentionally importing it. As far as overstaying visas, I already said they have to start tracking the visas, go find the people doing it and revoke their visas forever. Do you really see lots of Americans doing the low income jobs that many Hispanics are prepared to do? Like construction, cleaners and domestic maids. My experience has been these are jobs most Americans aren't really prepared to do?
  20. Wut? Do you talk about few police operations against local criminals? What separatism do you talking about? That is true about Chechnya now, its much less violent. But Russia took 10 years to subdue one country, you had two wars with Chechnya and only finally succeeded when you adopted the tactics of the brutal and corrupt Ramzan Kadyrov. Who is now current president of Chechnya It doesn't say much for the military effectiveness of Russia at the moment, and you still think you will win a traditional war the USA?
  21. Libertarians are too obsessed with states rights for my tastes. That said; sure you CAN vote libertarian, but everyone knows that a vote for a third party is a waste of a vote. I'm hoping the republicans will drop the big government aspects of the party and adopt a small government stance on those issues. If only for the party's survival; the republicans MUST end the drug war, support gay marriage, and change their platform of foreign entanglements. The fact that doing so will actually coincide with their message of small government and be good for the country is a bonus. They don't have to be as extreme as the libertarians, but a move in that direction would give them some kind of future. I also feel I should note that their pro-life stance is one I oppose, but it is actually good for the party's future. After all, Hispanics are the fastest growing group in the country and they are usually pro-life. So while I support abortion; I am certain remaining pro-life is a good idea. That's true about Hispanics and there stance on pro-life. But this is also due to there slightly more conservative culture, especially due to Catholicism, and I expect this to change for future generations around issues like pro-choice I faintly recall someone posting an article about how we get people from traditionally conservative cultures that on paper should be likely Republican voters and yet they fairly consistently vote Democrat. It may have been on Facebook if not here but I'll see if I can find it. I would like to read that, it sounds very interesting
  22. Its funny you say that but about 3 weeks ago I was talking to this girl at a bar and I said "I'm a feminist, do you care about the struggle for gender equality" ( the truth is she was arrogant and I could tell this would annoy her ) anyway she said to me " you should speak to my friend, she cares about feminism " ( I knew she was being sarcastic ) so I went to her friend and said "hi, your friend told me you care about feminism" ....she gave her friend this annoyed look and said to me " well I will have to have a chat to her about that " At least there is still strip bar/hostess club/escort service. You can do both of them, as long as you are honest. So you meet ladies in bars and you can go to strip clubs but its not advisable to do this if you are involved
  23. Just an update, after reflection and consultation with certain third parties I have decided to not use the word feminist anymore when describing myself because there does appear to be an uninformed and negative view around this word. So I will prefer to say I am a liberal who believes in gender equality
