  1. Its a pity for the Democrat support predictions that it happened in Alaska, is that a state where people can vote? I thought only wild animals and people who like the solidary nature of the wild live there , I cant imagine they have much culture wars influence? I am more concerned with the reality of how in swing states like Pennsylvania primary elections on both the left and right are being won by people who have more populist views or like to promote culture wars rhetoric. Its not good when candidates who have real political or business experience lose to the likes of Oz or Fetterman And the decisions in Congress need to made by people have a real understanding of the consequences of what they vote for
  2. Yes absolutely, I didnt understand your initial post because I thought you were saying when loans are approved the money is now circulated in only a positive way. But the banks still need the loan repaid which means loans have to always be something that needs to be paid back But I see what you mean and I agree
  3. Im not sure I understand you, if I buy a house from someone or a property developer and I get a loan from the bank the money goes to them. The bank doesnt have that money anymore and you pay the bank back The money I give to the person who owned the property doesnt necessarily end up in the same bank? What do you mean by " comes back to circulation " ? Because the risk to the bank is where people dont pay back the loan and they have to absorb the debt or auction the house which is never ideal
  4. Its theoretically possible a 100 year loan but I guarantee you most banks wont create a 100 year loan because its not financially worth there while. The banks need to see some return on the loan in less time but maybe a 50 year loan? Remember the banks would need to have the money available to provide either a 50 or 100 year loan and the US has too many people in its population, Sweden has 10 million people and the US has 330 million
  5. It makes sense, it has advantages and some disadvantages but more advantages
  6. Thats sounds very socialist and radical left, remember we generally dont support those types of ideological views because we dont want to end up like Zimbabwe, Cuba, NK or Venezuela
  7. Keep it up, exercise is important. You dont need to overdo it and just build your fitness and stamina slowly and steadily
  8. Absolutely, there are various components to crimes against humanity and most of them would constitute the death penalty in any county that has the death penalty Here is a link that highlights the various acts that define crimes against humanity because I researched this because of a local debate about Apartheid which is crimes against humanity https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crimes_against_humanity#Apartheid But its going to be almost impossible to justify legally white collar crime as crimes against humanity ?
  9. Executed.....holy smoke Gothfuscious, I thought you Scandinavian liberals didnt support the death penalty? I support the death penalty so its good how alike we are but you more hardcore than me because I only support death penalty for capital crimes like murder and high treason...I dont support it for white collar crime But I support your sentiment about the death penalty
  10. There is a misunderstanding about " tax payers having to bail out banks in the US " Firstly dozens of banks weren't bailed out and they collapsed or were acquired. I would encourage everyone to read this link to understand just how the financial system also suffered and people lost there jobs https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_banks_acquired_or_bankrupted_in_the_United_States_during_the_financial_crisis_of_2007–2008 And then the majority of large banks that received bailouts paid back the " bailouts " within 3-4 years and made necessary structural changes that was expected of them so that 2008 could never happen again. People that are anti-banks ignore this, we should always recognize when any private sector company acknowledges its mistakes and addresses them It surprises me how in the US people like Bernie Saunders still go on about 2008 as if nothing has changed or how banks " got off easy and yet US citizens lost there houses "....thats not accurate
  11. Elerond I was about to say " Elerond please dont try to fool people with Swedish socialist doublespeak " but then I thought about this loan payment scheme and it may make sense So the idea is you have low monthly payments because the loan is over 50 years but I assume you cant make renovations to the house easily because the bank still owns the house? And I imagine people dont go around selling property easily because you wont make much money unless you have paid off most of the 50 years loan? But it means most people can get a house because the monthly payments are low, that must be why they do this?
  12. You lucky at 4%, in SA our Reserve Bank\Central Bank sets the prime Interest rate and then banks add on percentages to whatever the prime rate is. So our prime rate is 9% at the moment which means you will get a loan from a bank for 12-15% ...I wish we could get a loan for 4% https://www.mortgagemarket.co.za/resources/articles/what-is-the-current-interest-rate-on-a-home-loan-in-south-africa
  13. All companies have to be profitable Hurlshot or they wouldnt be sustainable If you think a listed company is making obscene profits why dont you do some research and look at the profit target\increase from the year before. Its normally 12-18%, thats not obscene? Do that for any company in the US but track it over 4-5 years. Listed companies have to make there financial statements publicly available so it should be on the company website?
  14. Another great video from Natasha, keep them coming. You can learn more from these honest opinions on life in Russia and how the propaganda machinery works and has been implemented than many established news channels who dont have this level of visibility and connection to Russia It also reminds us how many Russians are opposed to Putins War but they cannot do anything about it because in an autocratic state with no freedom of speech or right to protest you are limited I am just genuinely worried about her freedom, I hope she doesnt get arrested ?
  15. I hear you but its still funny, I guess I have sunk
  16. I completed SoD last night and it was a very entertaining DLC for BG1, well worth the experience. Its gets a solid 70/100 on the globally respected " BruceVC game rating system " The key take-aways and indelible points from SoD were I enjoyed the large battles like Boareskyr Bridge and the assault on DS castle I decided to take the challenge of the one-on-one duel with the bombastic and arrogant Ashatiel, I had my doubts I would win because Im a wizard but I got lucky with Wand of Paralyzation and then once she was frozen I killed her with spells like Magic Missile I thought the maps like Underground River had some interesting quests I decided to poison the DS Castle water and food and I used the barrel explosives to destroy the gate, the crusade had to be defeated and I had no qualms about using these types of controversial strategies I aligned with Caelar Argent in the final battle against Belhifet, I understand why she did what she did and I forgave her I enjoyed the appearances of the Hooded Man\Jon Irenicus and how this tries into the BG2 narrative, Im considering continuing with BG2 but I probably wont because I played BG2 about 12 years ago and I remember too much about the narrative so I may wait a while?
  17. Maybe you should demand that all loans in the US get scrapped? Think how convenient it will be if home loans are removed, the greedy banks can carry the cost?
  18. I find Kirby to be reasonable and not prone to hyperbole most of the time He has a long history of being a spokesman for numerous US military institutions and he use to often appear on CNN during Trumps presidency as a guest to give his opinion on military developments and explain things to viewers
  19. What do you mean by weigh inspection, is this weight of the cargo? Do they do that so you dont unnecessarily damage the roads and what happens if you over the weight, whats the difference between level 2&3 inspection?
  20. So basically you setting a precedent to say " take a loan and dont worry about paying it back " What do you mean by " rich Americans who had loans forgiven"? Do you have a link to support this or can you clarify?
  21. I been following some interviews on CNN about this student debt forgiveness and some of the guests raised relevant criticism towards this that I think need to be considered. I agree with some of them You are now rewarding people for not doing the right thing and not paying back there loans so what about the millions of Americans who made necessary sacrifices and did pay back there loans? What message you sending This loan forgiveness is just a political attempt to pander to the Democratic base, Biden needs to do this because of current bad polling numbers. Its no different to Trump tax cuts except the Trump tax cuts did benefit the US economy This can make inflation worse, I dont agree with this. Here is an article that summarizes this concern https://www.vox.com/2022/8/25/23320825/student-loan-debt-forgiveness-inflation
  22. Wormie....Im disappointed in this post, remember the code? We always finish Bioware games unless we in jail and you dont have a gaming PC The code has been around since time immemorial, its okay to deviate from the code every 10 years or so but you dont want to make a habit about it
  23. I have been following this very concerning development and Im glad it seems to have been resolved. My opinion of the Russian military strategy almost cant get lower but I didnt think even Putin would allow this nuclear plant to melt down by cutting off power and then relying only on generators Hopefully the Ruskies dont continue playing games like this because a nuclear meltdown would hurt them as well
  24. Nice, plus there is the additional advantage of when your daughter comes to visit she can do any plumbing DIY that is required You dont have to do all the work anymore
