The All Things Political Topic - Ninety percent of the politicians give the other ten percent a bad reputation
I dont agree that Trump and Biden foreign policy would have necessarily been the same towards Ukraine. The US foreign policy is consistent when it comes to geopolitical events like the Cold War but there are numerous foreign policy differences and outcomes between US presidents for as long as I have been following US political developments since 9/11 Trump has always been more friendly towards Putin and there is a segment of US right-wing media, like Tucker Carlson, that are very opposed to US assistance or at least question the reason for Putins War and blame the West\NATO hyperbole Just Trump's disdain and lack of understanding of NATO, which Biden rejected , is another contentious example of the difference between Trump and normal US president foreign policy I guess we will never know but I am not confident that Ukraine would have got the same support from US under Trump

Nah, you overcomplicating something that is irrelevant to why most non-Americans follow US elections and have an opinion on the US. You dont need to understand the intricacies of runoffs, voting laws, bills or even how Congress works to have an opinion on the US or its elections Thats not what most non-Americans care about because thats specific to the US electoral system. We care about the political outcomes and who wins the House, Senate and presidential race because that has direct influence to the significant and important role the US plays in the globe and geopolitical events like the support for Ukraine and the support for NATO So we are going to continue to open our mouths and comment because its obvious how the Dems and GOP can and do influence US foreign policy. Sorry to disappoint you and Gromnir but thats not going to change until the US is no longer the force of influence it is. And since that is unlikely to change you are going to continue to hear comments and views from non-Americans

I doubt its a trap, the Russians place huge importance on the propaganda to their citizens about how "well "the war is going. They wouldn't announce such a significant withdrawal if it wasn't true or necessary because of how badly it reflects on Putins War Here is a post from someone on Codex who follows this war from a military perspective about why the withdraw is real The Russians in Kherson were in a terrible position where their undersupplied units were taking heavy losses and were constantly under the threat of a major breakthrough capturing a large portion of the Russian forces on that side of the river. It started from when Ukraine started getting HIMARS and were able to go after the bridges. And it just got worse and worse month after month as Ukraine relentlessly applied that pressure on Russian logistics and then expanded it to pressure on Russian frontline units. But Russia spent months trying to ignore or deny there were any significant problems with supplies while also trying to present a false narrative that they were beating the brakes off Ukraine in that area while taking little damage themselves. But then reality occurs and Russia is exposed. But it comes as even more of a shock to their supporters because they believed the narrative Russia had been claiming about the situation, which obviously can't coexist with the actual reality of Russia being forced to withdraw. A similar patterns has occurred with other situations where Russia retreats. Russia doesn't acknowledge the precarious position they are in and instead presents a false narrative of strength and success. But then they are forced to retreat. And that shatters the view of those who had believed and repeated the Russian narrative of strength and success.

Im not but its the will of the people and I accept the outcomes. I guess things like R vs W were more important than we thought? But the GOP should still take the House, the Senate is the really interesting one and if there is a runoff in Georgia that will only be decided in December? I am interested when these midterms are over to see the analysis of why people voted for various parties, what were there main reasons

Wow, things have been tumultuous and unexpected . Fetterman has won in Pennsylvania and Trump endorsed candidates have not done well which is a good thing like Lake in Arizona. Election denialism has ostensibly cost candidates Kemp has won in Georgia which is good news, senate race too early to call Watching numbers change in real time is great

Juice media video hilarious and convincing as usual 💞 But I have mixed views on the second one and I was vacillating between is it a supportive message of the Oz recruitment drive or is making a mockery of this prudent initiative? I did laugh at the " can I push this button" Its only a good thing for a country like Australia to increase the size of its military, you face real potential risks as mentioned like Chinese hegemony and the Russian militancy in Ukraine. Of course Im not suggesting Oz should go to war with China but along with other Western allies you need an effective local army because we dont know what the future holds Anyway was the second video suppose to be supportive or critical, I think it was supportive? But Gorthfuscious I was very impressed when they mentioned even people with skills in their 40's and 50's can join the military. Once you have your citizenship you should join, with your our software knowledge you would be a huge asset IMO. I wonder if the Oz army uses your Microsoft ERP system?

https://www.businesslive.co.za/bloomberg/news/2022-11-07-elon-musk-rehires-twitter-workers-after-some-were-laid-off-by-mistake/ Musk is rehiring dozens of staff that were fired on Friday because of their skills and significance to the business. It was a stupid thing to do to just fire staff without understanding their contribution Not a very prudent start, lets hope he does better as time goes on

Its true and this is the " advantage " about being an autocrat and controlling the country through security forces and an iron fist. Putin doesnt have to be concerned with the lives of Russians because citizens cant do anything to change the reality of his leadership and there is no free media to significantly criticize his decisions and their outcomes

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11390737/Xi-Jinping-warns-Putin-not-use-nukes-rare-rebuke-Ukraine-war.html China has rebuked Putin with his comments of using nukes, to quote "President Xi and I agree: nuclear threats are irresponsible and incendiary,' Scholz said after the meeting. 'By using nuclear weapons, Russia would be crossing a line that the community of states has drawn together " Guess Putins threats have become less concerning?

What are you Playing Now? Whatever happens, at least we're out of that mudhole, Gilded Vale.
Im 50 hours into Exanima and Im still loving it, I have just reached level 3 and Im fighting my first skeleton Some feedback on the successful way mechanics and design is implemented The combat is by far the most realistic and exciting I have ever encountered. The combat design is all about physics and you have to learn how it works to be effective I love how hardcore the game is. It took me about 8-10 hours to find a compass on level 1 and I only found a map on level 2. This game is definitely one of those experiences where if you love making your own maps it would be useful and advantageous I take my time and explore every room and its always rewarding to find a good weapon randomly. You really appreciate resources and the lack of them I have only found 2 x healing potions\salves and I used one of them on my NPC. I do use save scumming because its a hardcore game and Im not that hardcore Because you dont want to get red injured every battle is meaningful. Its a unique experience for me to be wary of getting hurt because you cant just " heal " easily ( I even tried a healing mod which doesnt work anymore ) I dont know if Sui Generis, the full game because this is a dungeon crawl, will ever get released but I can tell you one thing. The developers have created one of the most brilliant, RPG survival games I have ever played and I recommend it to anyone who wants a challenge and is tired of Carebear and hand holding RPG that are fairly common nowadays Exanima is definitely the game for you https://store.steampowered.com/app/362490/Exanima/

No one is saying that but when it comes to things like blowing up nuclear plants, creating dirty bombs and blowing up dams its not convincing and it doesnt make sense to the Ukrainian military strategy especially when they have the advantage and Russia is pulling back Im just surprised that you still believe anything that comes from Russia?
