I sniped them from the Great Khans camp, took out the Alpha first, then the little ones, the game said "deathclaw matriarch (or w/e) is enraged by the deaths of her children", maybe that makes her a lot tougher I don't know. I was hidden the whole time by the way, maybe that stopped them from spawning right on top of me

nah, the deathclaws in Quarry Junction didn't give me any hard time, all of them were one-shot kills, but for the Alpha-male and Mother I had to switch to my Anti-materiel baby with incendiary ammo, each took 4 shot to the head to go down. and a handful of reloads due to bad timing and Gannon being a jerk

ha, funny thing is it works exactly the same with any gun, sneak attacks with a 10mm are one-shot kills all the same, if you manage to target the head this is my main problem with New Vegas: no matter how agile or skilled you are with guns, you can "headshot" people with a revolver from great distances. seriously, I'm thinking of playing a melee character now

exactly, man. not only that, but SPECIAL doesn't seem to affect combat (except VATS), at all. I have 10 AGI and 5 STR but I don't think there's gonna be a big difference in combat if I go for, say, 6 AGI and 6 STR (6 seems to be the magic number for perks) and have 3 points left over. also, a lot of useless perks, they should've made it every 3/4 levels and left the Gifted trait in the game. I'm lv 29 now and some of the perks I took I did so only because it felt wrong to not take anything. maybe this is the reason there's so many "filler" perks. to satisfy the Beth fan boys. what I don't like is that this game doesn't encourage "builds", you can play through with almost any setup. this was not the case in F2. makes me a sad panda

since this is a spoiler-free thread, I'm gonna spoil it for you: in Fallout 2 you'd eventually arrive in New Reno (think Freeside). there's 3 families. and you, the hero, have an option of romancing 2 women. the wife of the head of a family (Bishops, if my memory serves me well) and their young daughter. missus Bishop is an alcoholic, while miss Bishop is a junkie and the biggest **** New Reno has ever seen. so yeah, I'd imagine some **** like Benny as an option for female characters, but certainly not Boone or, say, Gannon

I defused the bomb on the monorail, now I'm doomed to listen to the radio host praising some "civilian", who saved the day. also I find it odd, that there's an option to wipe out an entire Legion outpost without shooting a single bullet, I am sure it's a part of a quest, but I can't find the quest giver.

Obsidian is too good for that, to put this kind of thing in their game would be like kissing Bioware on the mouth remember Fallout 2? the only love option available to us? the only romantic option the Courier could have gotten would be some dominatrix (Tabitha comes to mind).

really? wow, that's a relief. I'm gonna go all out on the legionaries now, for all hard times they've given me. I encountered anothea bug with Boone, he's somehow able to wear Power Armor, when he shouldn't be. I'm not complaining though

oh wow, gotta ditch Veronica then. I can't initiate any of the companions' quests Veronica just won't talk. same with Boone. I looked up how to begin EDE's quest, but I've already spoken to every former Enclave employee there is, there's no way to initiate the needed dialogue with them now... someone should make a mod overhauling these quests. EDIT: ahaha, oh boy! anyone tried repairing Rhonda before confronting Tabitha at the Black Mountain? I think the matter could've been resolved peacefully...
