  1. Vault 34 was the easiest to find. I stumbled across it accidentally, it's east of Camp McCarran IIRC
  2. anyone can tell me if thre's a difference in skill points between a INT 8 and INT 10 guy? I really don't need science at 45 at lvl 1, and this is all that I got from INT 10 it seems. might want to restart the game and put the 2 points into luck or something
  3. I love the real-time combat in NV
  4. I just found the best line of dialogue in New Vegas "I see. Yes Man, please throw general Oliver from the Dam" can't stop laughing
  5. low STR (4), low AGI, unless you plan using VATS (don't), high INT and PER (I had both at 8, but 7 seems to be the magic number), everything else doesn't really matter. for the hardcore mode pumping STR and END might be a good idea, though. take combat traits, don't waste your perk slot on the 10% xp boost, be sure to get the double magazine effectiveness and +2 skill points perks.
  6. why would you want to go there? I took Intensive Training two times, both to boost STR from 4 to 6. to tell you the truth most perks seem useless anyway, you get, what, 15 of them by lvl 30, and there's aonly a couple of useful ones.
  7. if your speech and science/doctor are around 50, you'll be fine. there's no one to fight in Vegas, most quests will get you at least a couple of levels before you even get to your first Vault. at least it'll provide a challenge my second walkthrough will most deifnitely be on hard/hardcore and no free roaming
  8. ahaha, that haircut! no wonder the legion's troops are scared of you
  9. it's all over the game. some dialogue options don't get locked out when they should and NPCs just start contradicting themselves in every sentence. and I don't think one patch is gonna fix it
  10. my experience shows that it's better to get to Vegas as soon as possible, because most quests there take you all over the map, and I hate revisiting locations. besides, when I finally go to the main quest line, I was already lvl 30 and wasn't motivated to do any extra running.
  11. can't be! I'd risked forming a party only once, people dropped out almost immediately, from that point on I'd only join up to tackle harder bosses, everything else solo
  12. or maybe they get panic attacks when you get too close. you reputation precedes you.
  13. the compass is very helpful in locating them inside a multi-storey structure. these bastards sure hate standing on the same spot
  14. the quest markers helped me a lot over the game's course. never had any trouble finding NPCs (unless the quest was bugged). as far as I know you can't place more than one marker at a time, but seriously, you don't need it
  15. whoops, scratch that last post. he finally opened up to me after I decided to go solo, obviously he approves of getting rid of competition on the way to power
  16. I can't get Gannon to talk about his past. I'm idolized by the Followers and have taken him to all places of interest... I want that Power Armor, damn it!
  17. by the way I encountered a rather disturbing bug. in Gomorrah there's a room with a dead prostitute, you can examine her to determine the cause of her death. well, I did so and went on with my game. just now I was running past the room and what do you know, she's alive! a miracle no less. I can still examine her though, the game reassures me that she's dead. all the while she promises me a "time of my life"
  18. that's my favorite line in the whole game, when I first saw it I couldn't stop laughing for 5 whole minutes
  19. which is kinda dumb because the Brotherhood has all these miniguns, gauss rifles, plasma and god knows what else. not to mention that NCR's troopers don't even stand a chance against a BoS paladin in Power Armor with their M14s and M16s.
  20. not really, Sierra Army Depot holds a couple of plasma rifles, maybe some Vaults do too, I don't remember (and then there's super mutants at the Military Base). I do remember that I already had a Turbo Plasma Rifle when I entered Navarro for the first time
  21. actually, New Vegas gave us a new perspective on the Northern branch. this is exactly what Veronica talks about.
  22. I do agree that energy weapons should be more powerful like in F2 for example. so far they're a big disappointment, save for the Gauss Rifle
  23. well, I just checked the general timeline, and not a single event from Tactics is mentioned. but events and characters from Van Buren are included.
  24. I don't even know what to make of it
  25. btw, am I right to suspect, that fallout wiki completely ignores Tactics? the game's story isn't considered to be part of the canon by the community?
