A link that gave me a clue...

Sorry but they pulled dates out of their behinds. I am not going even to bother to find the inconsistences, seeing Tatooine discovery date was enough to see how much that timeline is wrong. -
Anybody miss female Revan's underwear?

Ask BioWare. -
Someone is wrong, the Republic is about 25,000 years old at the time of the prequels. The Jedi Order come about the same time of the Republic, the Sith Empire was formed after by former Jedi. The only thing older that the Republic is, oddly enough, the Hutts that ruled their section of space before the Republic come into existence.

NWN 2 News Exclusive Interview with Ferret!
Drakron replied to Rhomal's topic in Computer and Console
Sure its not linear but you appear to be saying NwN OC was developed over those 5 years as everything points out BioWare started building the engine first and only created the actual campain after the engine was at a stable build. BioWare is not that big and they had BG 2 to work on, I doubt any actual work in the NwN OC campain started before BG2 was finished. I am not excusing BioWare mistakes and they made many during development, they made compromises for multiplayer and the toolset that hurt OC. Nothing says a "more experienced" team would do better, they might done things diferently that BioWare that could have lead to a better or worst game. My comment over the OC is that it sufferef from lack of time, funny thing on how you say about I am not being "aware of the influence publishers have over start-up developers" as I am blaming Atari from imposing a release date to BioWare leading to BioWare having to rush the OC to meet it, BioWare might not been a "start-up" at that time but had exclusive worked for Interplay and was stuck with a nearly complete project. Also I have to be amused with your saying you are confident with OE that *is* a start-up company with only one complted project, SW:KotOR2:TSL ... just because they have team members experienced in making RPGs does not mean they dont end up another Troika. -
I just hope its a hentai game.

Yep. Only game I remenber about then was a RPG were we turn in a giant insect near the end and if not in error travel back in time to stop some events to take place. -
Talking about adventure games made me think of Gabriel Knight series ... the first one was damn good (I have the Sierra collection and the CD version have voice acting with Gabe voice being Mark Hamill) as the last one was ... not as good, expecialy the end part.

The original TNO? Come on, those are simply fragments of TNO past incarnations, the good one might be the older there but it was likely the same one that tried to stuff Morte back in the pilar and lets not forget that Morte was taken off the pilar by TNO himself.
-
Were you got that idea? You think what, that TNO is going around "Oh I am a evil bastard but if I do good I go play harp with the devas". Sorry, TNO takem the way out by seeking imortality and when Ravel did her trick it did not work as advertised. Besides what i wrong about TNO making a contract with demons, he was evil and could not care less until his time was up to make his part of the deal.
-
What are you talking about? TNO looked for immortality to escape going to be send to the lower planes, even the most evil person does not want to be send there. There is nothing to "atone" to, you are evil and you get send to the lower planes. The core of the game is also how belif changes things, how you think Trias managed to make that city to slip into the lower planes.

Only thing I remenber being patched in Wing Commander games were joystick calibration issues and Windows 98 mode. I been around for a long time, years ago games were patched to support new hardware and software that was released after the game. The reason games are shipped with so many bugs are because of people like you, people that expect the patch to fix the issues in the game. I said it once and say it again, we have buggy releases because they can get away with it. -
What part of "in D&D people are send to the plane that matches their aligment" dont you get? TNO made a contract, on death he was going to serve in the Blood War and what he was trying to avoid was fullfil his part on the deal when he tried to be made immortal. That is why in the end he does not go play harp with the devas if he was LG, the contract he made forces him to serve in the Blood War for a certain amount of time (if he survives) and then he is released.

But you can get your character to have sex in this game, it even have a FMV for it.

NWN 2 News Exclusive Interview with Ferret!
Drakron replied to Rhomal's topic in Computer and Console
How long did Half Life2 take to develop? They had 5 years to make a game that required a new game engine that was going to be used for multiplayer as well, lets add the whole toolset that had to be idiot proof and it becames quite a task since it was all in house made. And lets not forget BioWare was completing BG2 at the same time they were making NwN, there was less need for a tech team for BG2 since it was using their IE engine. BioWare is no Konami with several diferent teams working on several projects at once. -

Some years ago they tried to sell multiplayer only games, they failed. Only MMORPGs sell and that is because MMORPGs are a diferent kind of drugs. Its no wonder they are trying to sell NwN2 to the people that just play single player games, its were the core of the market as BioWare learned, the people that play multiplayer are a ninority and the people that mod are a even smaller ninority and those sales would not have covered the cost of the game. I have to agree 18 months is simply not enough time, its not even enough time for a game using a existing engine let alone one that uses a new engine and tries to be a swiss army knife. -

The game suffered when BioWare break from Interplay. Bioware was put in a dificult position, the D&D license was hold by Atari and Interplay so they could not invest much time in the game until the license problems were solved and that was either scrap the D&D and FR content or get Atari as publisher. When Atari became the new publisher they set a release date, given the dificulties the game had BioWare had no choice but to release it on that date, the game suffered from the lack of work done during the "pubisher limbo" and from the fact the new publisher set in stone the release date. Of course there were errors during development, a notable one was that BioWare did not intended to have party members and had to implement henchmans due to the problems of trying to make the D&D system (that is party based) into a single system. -
But they are used as party members, no matter how little time they are. Atris is simply not as the game is released, the existence of a portrait indicates at some point she was planned to be.
-
Its D&D and nobody gets "sentenced", they go to the plane that matches their aligment ... unless they make a contract. TNO was simply not a nice person and tried to escape from his fate, the end is TNO acepting his fate and moving on, breaking away from the circle.

Well in BioWare defence Visc they did not really had the time ... the only diference is that OE had no problem in comming clean after KotOR II was released over time issues as BioWare only said that NwN OC had problems when they were trying to sell HotU. -

Atari does not play this forum bills and many of us remenber the day the forums moved and the atittude of some "NwN CCC" about it. And they might be paying the game development but you really think they would cancel it because OE allowed NWN2 forums to stay up in here? -
That is simple. When people die they go to the plane that matches their aligment but that is it, there they are not forced to do anything.there (even if the lower planes are not exactly good places to be on). Now the LE demons (forgot the name) offer contracts, TNO would only fight in the Blood Wars if he signed one. I dont remenber if the game said that or it have to be figured out from convertation but that was what happened.
