  1. That assumes some fundamental level of competency on the part of interplay. The whole MMO part of the deal was made like some sort of a bet and I'm not surprised that Bethesda came calling when it won. I certainly wouldn't want Interplay touching the IP that I paid good money for.
  2. You seem to be under assumption that science doesn't do the same. There are plenty of scientific theories that are commonly accepted despite contradicting evidence.
  3. You don't need to. Many religions can point to a variety of miracles that have been well documented. But since scientific method demands independent replication you simply can't consider metaphysical in scientific terms.
  4. I really can't picture x-com turn based combat working with a controller. Most likely it will end up similar to Civ:Revolutions. Just ported to PC for IP milkage.
  5. So far, the biggest difficulty for me is, that you can't assign favourite spells to quick keys (at least, I haven't found such an option). I've been putting myself on fire while healing goblins and killed myself by spontaneous forcefield creation that catapulted me through the air out into the ocean. Fancy robes or not, wizards swims like rocks Half the fun of the game are miscasts and friendly fire. You just need another player to appreciate it and res you afterwards.
  6. After 50+ attempts finally finished Dungeons of Dredmor. Ironically the winning build was a joke meant to fail on the first floor. There must be something wrong with me because I immediately got DLC and restarted.
  7. Same reason it's not done in submarines. In space you can't really see anything with an naked eye.
  8. New Company of Heroes in the works. I wonder what will it turn into given relics new-found love of heroes, leveling and online persistence.
  9. If they place them before one of those Obsidian boss fights that require 20+ attempts this will make for some hilarious trolling.
  10. I don't believe any behavior or procedure can produce 100% accurate results. Moreover, whenever I hear someone claim 100% accuracy or rightness, I assume they're trying to bilk me out of my money. Coincidentally CD Project just the lost the lawsuit over the DRM removal and publishing rights to xbox version. Frankly this looks just like a desperate shake down for cash as they shouldn't have anything more than IP tracking. Unless of course the game gathers personal information which would be in itself illegal.
  11. Am I really the only one that plays random? Approaching a game like Civ with a set leader, world type and strategy just feels wrong.
  12. Wait so I missed the Introversion bundle? That's the whole problem of the 'sales' approach - expecting everybody to check your offers every week. And now the only option is to buy it for one euro from people that gave a cent for it.
  13. No it's not. So what is the alternative?
  14. Now that's really interesting. PC exclusive RTS game using Bioware brand and the once-popular Generals IP. And it's somehow supposed to be "emotionally engaging" as well. It will be fun to see if it steps on the toes of Blizzard and it's Starcraft 2 expansion plans.
  15. Wait.. so developers shouldn't combat piracy with offering better service for paying customers.. everyone should instead just accept annoying crap?. They could also make a statement by not buying and not pirating it. The problem with pirating something is that developer/publisher never knows if there was something wrong with the game or you just wanted it for free.
  16. The GoG people would tell you to provide additional value for legitimate customers. How do you profit on it is another issue.
  17. I think you are barking up the wrong tree as I don't remember ever calling US poor or it's economy in shambles.
  18. But social stigma usually results from harming economical interests of your society. When all the software producers are from a country far away (and one that is clearly rich) it's rather hard to convince anyone to care about their business.
  19. Because they see Obsidian as the best-last-hope for the old school RPGs. Clearly a South Park game will target different audiences.
  20. Nothing to be offended about. Fart jokes and making fun of everyone and everything is what goes on in the show. Apparently this equals a right-wing show. While South Park may be mocking everything and everyone it never did so equally. Even if you ignore the "I learned something today" fragments there is still a world of difference in the viciousness with which it handles environmental issues and big business.
  21. So Obsidian has gone from Star Wars to this? Not that I mind it as it's a golden opportunity to mock the RPG genre and all it's cliches. But first the game will have to survive shipping of political agenda and fart jokes.
  22. Easy - Fallout New Vegas. Steam recognizes completely different version of the game depending on the country of purchase. And this is a issue as DLC releases are somewhat unequal.
  23. I don't think rail shooters count among FPS genre. In early FPS games mouse could at best be used for movement and auto-aim was the norm.
  24. I did play M&M and similar games and can honestly say that they were never as good as recent Elder Scroll games. Just like other old-school first-person dungeon crawlers their essence was grind by combat. Ever since BG/Fallout changed the way of handling storytelling and world interaction it's simply wouldn't work and that sub-genre died. On the other hand the more exploration and world-building focused Elder Scrolls series is still popular.
  25. AC:Revelations. Still a good game but a step back from Brotherhood. Controls have been improved but new gameplay additions have been poorly though-out. It's also not as content-rich as previous games.
