  1. From the remaining components it's still possible to check if it's the hard drive. If you have one of these windows-compatible USBs try running win10 directly from that. Preferably without HDD connected so it can't try to write swap files.
  2. Honestly I'd say if it can be reproduced in safe mode then it should be covered by warranty. If you are really up for a trip down the rabbit-hole you can troubleshoot further with driver verifier but it will get messier with every step forward.
  3. Is the BSOD stop code/module consistent at all? IRQ errors would seem strange to be power related. You can also check if running 'high performance' settings wile on battery or 'power saving' settings while plugged-in will make a difference.
  4. Incidentally the death tool in Iraq protests is now at well over 300. Yet I'm constantly bombarded by news from HK while this hardly ever gets reported.
  5. Diminishing returns. If future negative emissions plans are to pan out we will need something far more consistent than cellulose.
  6. It's just too bad both Japanese and German militaries disagreed about the war being lost. As long as they were willing to trade off their own population to hold on to their territorial gains this was always going to be the natural course of the war. And besides that, there were very good reasons to reconstruct these countries which could only happen during occupation.
  7. Because their deaths saved lives of people far more innocent then themselves. I haven't heard how much invading and occupying Finland has done before being Soviets attacked but it seems to me a bit different situation.
  8. 'Slaughters' might be just a bit exaggerated. If this happened in Beijing there could well be one but Chinese approach so-far is not atypical from the rest of the free world. And interestingly Blitzchung who was so victimized by Blizzard quickly reconciled with them after his punishment was reduced.
  9. It's not that simple. Migration is an issue and as usual left-leaning politicians and scientists will look the other way but priority for the moment should be power generation as it's the lowest hanging fruit. How do you handle the source of that population growing in numbers in developing countries is another matter. Telling them that they must stay poor or that they must educate their population (yay for next best thing to sterilization) is quite the hypocrisy on our part. That and part of methane does breaks down into CO2 so it accumulates to some extend.
  10. I stand corrected but the point stands. The obsession with planting flags, leaving boot-prints and making nonsensical inspirational speeches is only holding us back. Robotic exploration is good enough mean to look for reasons to venture beyond this planet.
  11. Only 3 countries have manged to land probes on moon so far. That's despite considerable prizes for commercial companies and recent attempts by national space agencies of India and Israel. Economics of human space explorations are not there and may never make sense.
  12. So US spy satellite capabilities are now much better known. https://qz.com/1699833/what-we-can-learn-from-the-spy-satellite-image-trump-tweeted/ 10cm per pixel from orbit. Pretty impressive stuff.
  13. For Poland there was no flow to speak off (just some isolated cases), it ended with outright refusal to take mandated refugees (or migrants) anyway.
  14. Larian has a history of teasing with BS to build hype. I'll believe it when it's announced.
  15. This is just a sad indication of what happens with no used sales and mostly digital distribution. Not long ago we were told that without physical inventory we will be swimming in great sale deals. Now publishers get to say just how cheaply you are allowed to get games.
  16. Not really. With 2 sides to every story and cheery-picking 'facts' you can come to great many conclusions about events. Cause and effect is never straightforward in human societies. US civil war is a pretty good example since IIRC south didn't even regard Gettysburg as a major defeat at the time.
  17. No threat of soviet union to keep people in line this time. Being the lesser evil helps enormously.
  18. That's mostly buying credits, offsets and lies of statistic. Sadly oil will stay vital for a long time to come.
  19. All well and good but what would you suggest? Pretty much every soft-power approach has been tried and Venezuela is still rushing to be the next Cuba. Perhaps aside from outright assassination or invasion of course. And these didn't work out so well in Cuba.
  20. Is there anything more than the 3 pages of bullet points?
  21. Are AC heroes no longer required to procreate to be featured? That was a bigger plot point of the earlier ones.
  22. Meaning... something even worse will come along, championed by some clueless suit promising the board an eleventy trillion yearly revenue, only for the model to crash and burn half a decade later? I can't wait. Maybe except for the crashing and burning part. Micro-transactions have not gone away and I doubt service model will either. In the end, money talks.
  23. Their stance is that corporate money fits really snugly in their pocket. like on other side of spectrum is it any different Tell me about that immense amount of lobbying money that goes towards pushing climate change action. Their stance is that corporate money fits really snugly in their pocket. like on other side of spectrum is it any different Tell me about that immense amount of lobbying money that goes towards pushing climate change action. I think 'Act now on climate' has just dropped about million $ for one democratic candidate. Anyway that is a pittance compared to what invested industries can do.
  24. You know, one could just as easily question where did you get that 25% number from. It's oddly specific and reputable people that promised to benchmark the thing didn't deliver so far.
