I'm a little bit dissapointed that the lightsabres are'nt glowing.

If you've got some green, and are going in the winter, you could look at going to the Ice Hotel in northern Sweden . It's pretty pricey, and besides some impressive arctic climate and aurora borealis there is'nt that much to see up there, but we have some museums further south. Well, I've been told that by a french coworker, even she dislikes the general attitude to english of her countrymen

I've had some people recommend France to me, but they all speak french fluently. Those that don't speak french hated it, "was lovely as long as you did'nt meeting any french people", was the gist of it. I have a hard time imagining a place in Europe that is truly foreign and alien, I'd look to asia for something like that I've been planning a trip to Ukraine and Chernobyl with some friends though I am a bit hesitant because of, well, things that happened the last years, but it's something cool to see that I doubt many people can claim. So if you have any interest in such things, that might be worth looking into. Bulgaria has interested me a few times aswell, I'd like to see some of the Thracian tombs they've got there and the city Nessebar.

Thank you! I'm very proud of it, I named it 'Conan', for it left a wake of blood and tears...

Got my fiber connection working today. Now I only have to find out who my ISP actually is...

Happy birthday!

To be fair, it's somewhat rare here in the south, but yeah, the ought to be more used to it. Was quite relaxing during the drive home since 90% of people on the road was doing ~70kmh when the speed limit was 100. There was'nt really any snow on the motorways either, since they've salted the roads in anticipation, but still people where scared.
-
First real snow arrived today, wich means my face has been in a perpetual all day long! I love snow, and now even more so, when I have a drivers licence and a real wheel drive car. Wheeeeeeeeeeee! FUN! It's also amazing how many people around here don't know how to drive in the snow, I spent 15 minutes out of 60 just waiting for people to get moving. All that said, I'm really considering buying new winter tyres, the previous owner bought winter tyres without studs in it, wich means they're worthless on ice and packed snow. I really hope I get my money soon. Until then, WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I don't remember the details to 100% right now, but you can do that if you are alone, but if you have some friend near you (Arbitrarily decided by the police on the scene), you're a crowd and you'll get arrested. Ofcourse, if you do carry a rainbow flag visibly the chance that one of the many hategroups will see you and will come beat you too a bloody pulp. Since you're alone... And they will get away with it, because the police will not do anything to help you if that is the case. Even if there is photographic evidence.

Nope, there isn't any reliable way really. You can only tell the difference from pure methanol to ethanol that way iirc, but if it's methanol diluted in ethanol you can't. Edit; http://www.ehow.com/how_8714279_test-alcohol-methanol.html That sounds about right.
-
The risk of getting wood alcohol is pretty small, since you have to distill booze from wood to actually get it. Those problems come from a-holes selling moonshine that has been diluted with other things, methylated spirits for instance. You'd have to be pretty callous to do that. So yeah, it's a bit about safety aswell. But you don't get methanol from regular distilling.

There was a time in the 90's when making your own booze was legal here in Sweden, a relative of mine had a still wich he used quite frequently, he did add herbs in it to make aquavit. I guess that the time it'd take to age the booze would be somewhat frustrating, especially the first years. If one had enough space to keep it going though it'd make it a bit easier to bear I reckon. Well, not only taxes, but tax expenditure aswell. Atleast here, where healthcare is paid for by taxes, but it does help curb alcohol consumption somewhat. The biggest annoyance with "systembolaget" (The monopolized government controlled outlet for alcohol here in Sweden) is that the refuse to refridgerate their beers... That's supposed to be a tax? 3$ per litre? For booze, we pay 517SEK per litre of alcohol (Wich means, 517SEK for 1 litre of 100% abv) that's about 60$

That's pretty nice, I'd have gone for that if it was that cheap here. I'm a bit envious Well, there were 7 different menus, that's more variety than I get now actually. I really hate cooking. I'm pretty certain it'd be more tasty than things I cook myself! I would not have been too worried about that, there might have been some gain, but my work is really physically intensive, so I reckon I could burn off that energy. Worst case, I'd just have to eat slightly less of it. -
I'm kind of torn about those laws, I can see both the good and the bad in it, but I'm pretty biased against it since my family would be drinking even more if they could make their own booze.

I had some thoughs about buying swedish MRE's, just to not have to bother with thinking up what to eat, but they're damn expensive. 40$ per day is way out of my league. -
Finally! I've been waiting! =)

Is there a problem using 6 sided dice in pen and paper games?
Azdeus replied to slopesandsam's topic in Pen-and-Paper Gaming
It's also quicker and easier reading 1d20 than several D6's aswell, unless you've got a head for maths adding up the sums for d6's can take a few seconds wich some people find distracting. I personally prefer D6's, but I'm biased since that is what my favourite games used (Swedish games; Eon and Neotech) -
After spending 3 hours on the phone with different agencies and services, it turns out my ****ing boss has'nt told the social security agency that I've been sick. Mother****ing ****sucking little ****, I'm going to pressurecook his balls while they're still attached to him and then force feed them to him.

Got an very empty bank account since the social security agency has "misplaced" my files. Good fun.

Looking forward to it ^^

That sounds equally lovely and horrific; 30C would kill me. Probably, but some thunder and lightning would be real nice.

I'm jealous, it's grey and foggy here. Did he play "Good old boys" in the background at the same time?

I completely missed this, my condolences Shades,
