Comparing is unfair? Maybe that's why people get upset when I compare how good their moms are in the sack?

I liked the companions, I felt that they had a lot more dialogue than a lot of people think, they actually had a substantial amount really and some quite funny scenes. The reason I feel that people think they were quite bland is because they simply didn't have many catchy phrases and weren't in your face characters, ironically it's because they were not one note characters that people didn't pick up on their personalities. Baldur's Gate the characters were really just a few phrases but they were ones that people wound up repeating, like the infamous Minsc with his "Swords for everyone!" and Xzar's "Stop touching me!" When you click on Eder you just get a 'hey?', maybe if they had put in a few funny lines if you click on them too much like in Baldur's Gate people would start 'getting' them? Grieving Mother's jingling you get when you click on her does help give a feel for otherness for instance. I do feel that it's important to mention though that I do NOT want them to become more like the Baldur's Gate characters, I actually like them as they are I was just thinking of ways to help others enjoy them too.

Grimoire Smash can be useful for when someone gets past your line and engages your mage, as it not only damages the opponent but also pushes them away which breaks engagement. It's only momentary and can only be used once per encounter but it at least gives you a chance.

Guns rocked. Need to make pistols one-handed so that you can dual wield pistol and cutlass (and add in cutlasses as well) and then add in ships... yeah okay I'm really Guybrush in disguise...

Yes - disable spells and abilities. Not systems that do it for you. Why?

Presumably a bug. Early in the beta pistols were one handed but were changed to two-handed, guessing it's somehow reverted to the previous version.

I'm actually a huge fan of Dishonored, and I'm looking forward to a sequel like a madman. I've tried Assassin's Creed and Tomb raider, but for some reason I fell hard for Dishonored. The voice acting alone is marvellous. Daud, mmm... Loved Dishonored! A game in which I can try to chuck a dead body out of a window in a brothel into the ocean only to realise I got the wrong window when a scream from outside alerts me that I have actually thrown it into the main street... While I always got the Low Chaos ending I never completed a bloodless run since I always found the 'non-death' methods for taking out the actual targets to be a bit of a cop out (except for the one where you got to brand him instead).

KotOR sucks. There, I said it, but I just don't like those games. They suxxor the gibbon. Plus EA has exclusivity over all Star Wars related games development at the moment, because you know they are ****. Did I mention that KotOR is a big pile o' wank?

I disagree, that is what they like to think but when you have Codexers dictating to others how things should be because "that's how it was decided by the community" like I have seen then reality does not match up with their fantasy. They also try to be edgy and scandalous in order to get attention, in typical meme fashion, which is why this is going to be my last post on them as I've realised that I have fallen for it myself. They tend to remind me more of the crowd in the "Yes, we are all individuals!" scene of The Life of Brian. All those words, and all I hear is "Our hivemind is different". Which hivemind is that?

Are you saying the Codex is responsible for developers being reluctant to make old school rpgs because developers think the Codex will declare it the worst thing ever? Good point, didn't think that through did I. No I'm not but I guess that is what I said, the point I was trying to make is that developers probably have less and less reason to listen to the Codex the more it seeks attention by attacking anything and everything, but I kinda wandered there I think.

I actually lol'd for real at that. I can totally see Durance dressed as a Commissar in a 40k game. Shame it isn't deliberate with him, they could have given me lines when he does it that sounds particularly Commissary.

So what you are saying is that if you want to make a decent game then you need to just ignore the Codex? Suspected this as much, the Codex has, through their hate and bile, done the most harm to themselves with this kind of stuff, causing themselves to become more and more irrelevant but unable to stop themselves because the hate and bile is the only thing keeping them going now. The biggest problem is that they make the rest of us who also want old-school RPGs and the like to look bad. You've got publishers not backing these types of games and when someone does come along and make one you have these guys jumping all over it declaring it the worst thing ever, then they wonder why developers are so reluctant to make these games anymore?

I also think Heath Ledger's portrayal of him was overrated and was pushed by the media. So I won't.

I have to admit, it's impressive that the Haters have got people agreeing with their flaws in an attempt to meet them half-way without the haters making any effort to do so in return, when really what should happen is that the Haters are just ignored and left to their own bile. Nothing, there is nothing important about it, they lost any relevance they had long ago through their own actions. Now, all they do is wallow in their own hate and spite.
