There might be concern, but I've gotta say alone on attidude so far Obsidian has been a lot more professional so far when it comes to money than Double Fine. For example, I know some people are saying the documentary is worth it alone, but they went ridiculous in regard to production value on that. And I have generally trust in Sawyer (especially) and Brennecke when it comes to management. (That said, I do expect them to go a bit over budget. But, no stunts like only releasing part of the game so far)

Yup Awesome -
Yeaaaaaaaaaaah. No.

Why?Because unlike other publishers Bethesda seems to be flush with money, and they've at least shown some willingness in the past to finance slightly unusual projects, and I can't really think of any one else who's either capable or willing. So have other publishers? Yes, Beth does it a bit more, but even on their side they are exceptions. Aside from them not being so holy either when handeling said games. (controversities) I could see Warner Brothers or Square Enix for example. Also you are making this thing sound a bit riskier than the concept is, imo.

Well, not as such. But it may. That's the entire point. More so than any other shut down Obsidian project depending on positive reception of the concept.

Why?

Obsidian currently working on next-gen console title

Actually, if it gets picked up, I'd rather have it NOT on a Bethesda engine. That's by far my least favorite part about it. (I'm also not sure Bethesda would pick it up again, considering they already passed on it.)
-
It was never cancelled. Never being picked up is not the same as cancelled. Which also means this could get picked up without many legal problems. (Since Beth never really acquired it)
-
According to Anthony Davis on the rpg codex, this was Jason Fader's baby. Now I'm 99% certain which project this was, though I didn't expect it to be this big/ambitious.
-
For a moment I thought this was the cancelled 2012 game, but reading the article, this is something we had no idea about. IIRC.

Going well http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/409030043/warmachine-tactics?ref=recently_launched Thought this was worth mentioning, since I remember this to be Scott Campbells game

Update #59: Developer Q&A with Polina Hristova
C2B replied to BAdler's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
I'm glad and hope the other artist got through some of the art comments well too. Some of them got pretty terrible at times (in their aggressivness). What happened over at Neogaf during the first Art Update was especially terrible. Also, will you continue to do personal work as well on your blog? (Or is Eternity taking your energy?) It has been a while since the last update.- 119 replies

Yep (More or less even before P:E, since she was hired actually) That said, it deserves all the reposting.- 119 replies

To everyone complaining about the recent change. 1. We have been through that multiple times now (Beginning with the original Map) 2. Feedback is exactly what the developers want. They react to feedback and do things accordingly. If you read Sawyer's posts he explains why he does something. 3. As such THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH DESIGN BY COMMITTE. J.E. Sawyer and the rest of Obsidian holds up to his own opinions and how they work. If he thinks mechanic X works, he will do mechanic X despite protest. Likewise if he looks for feedback, he will take the opinions of fans into account where it makes sense. There is NOTHING to complain over.

LOL, Durability has been removed
C2B replied to Infinitron's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
And? Apart from that still being a lot, we're still representing how well its recieved. And it wasn't. Also, that's just part of what we as fans are. An additional argument, not the point I was making. (Not design by committee) -

? That's hopefully meant as a joke. There's no design by comittee here. Providing helpful critisism and a sample size, yes. (Which is IMO, how dev-audience communication should be) Also by Sawyer -

Yeah, I get that. I meant the thread title gives the wrong impression. Edit: And it's done. -

It's not. The skill has been removed. Crafting system is still in. (Or in other words. Thread title is confusing) -
Not a bad guess I don't think. Not the assumptions I meant. Also again not saying you don't have a point. You have.
-
A lot of assumptions in there about how skills work or how P:E will use them.... Not saying it's a bad essay, of course. And understandable considering our current information and the lack of a complete overview.

Considering that backer site is side and separate project to PE, thus I would say that it don't tell us anything about PE. And it probably should be mentioned that backer site project (in my knowledge) is one mans side project what he does simultaneously with his other tasks and it isn't most urgent project, so it quite understandable that it has been delayed. Also mentioning, that a full-on backer site was announced after the kickstarter. Originally, it was a survey.
