  1. I'll be convinced when they will at least be able to show the tech live to someone that can attest "yeah, it works". It doesn't help that it sounds like their understanding of 3D graphics comes from Wikipedia and that the presentation is very very very very very badly done.
  2. "Sort of" new, he said? I meant, wat.
  3. It has an influence system, no-combat quests and puzzles. Nothing bad in asking those elements to be developed more, if you ask me.
  4. Hit Esc (Start if you're on a gamepad) -> Help topics. It's all in there.
  5. That video really really sucks at showing iceHancer, (first result on Youtube searching for it, not much work on my part) is much better. Also, as you can see, performance is completely ****ed up (ran much better on my rig, tho', probably due to not using the hi-res textures and FRAPS). Unsure about color saturation, I didn't really fiddle with the settings before deciding it wasn't worth it.
  6. Maybe I'm just bad at configuring it but it didn't look nearly as awesome in motion.. and it was fairly buggy too. But yeah, s'cool I guess.
  7. That doesn't really explain why only EA games are pulled, considering that other games do the same thing (see Dirt 3). I guess you could argue that since they're selling their DLC through GfWL it's different but.. I'm not convinced. Granted, Valve is by far one of the strictest digital services but I don't think it would be too difficult to arrange different conditions for free-to-play titles and normal titles.
  8. Posting here so I leave the spotlight to all of those who intend to insult Nathaniel on the DS3 forums.. this is more Obsidian related than DSIII related, so yeah. But anyway: What does "immersive" mean, in your opinion? It's one of the most popular industry's buzzwords today, yet I have never seen anyone explaining what they think it means. And on that matter, do you think it's important for an AAA RPG today to be "immersive"?
  9. Wat. No one ever complained about traits/perks names...
  10. And Lexx never implied that his eventual purchase rested on that feature, either, so why the hell are you even saying that in the first place?
  11. It's the Elder Scrolls.. of course it's "level up by doing".
  12. Not sure, they just said that there would be skill-based checks and compared it to FO3 IIRC.
  13. They confirmed it uses Fallout 3-style speech checks.
  14. I'm hoping you haven't already selected the questions, because this is INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT AND I DEMAND AN ANSWER: - Who decided that calling Jeyne Kassynder "JEYNE KASSYNDEEEERR" in an incredibly dramatic tone every time she was mentioned was a good idea?
  15. How did you end up talking about Gundam, of all things?
  16. Only one that looks like a soldier is 1, btw.
  17. What is Rihanna doing there dressed as Shepard?
  18. You were cheating, basically.
  19. - Considering that the Dragon Age franchise (not to mention the Knights of the Old Republic games) have shown that party-based role-playing games can be financially successful and Dungeon Siege III already uses a top-down perspective anyway, is there any particular reason you didn't build on the previous iteration's mechanics and instead went with an action-RPG/brawler hybrid? - On that matter, how do you feel about the game's reception? DSIII's debatable implementation of multiplayer and lack of customization have been the main points of criticism, but almost every element of the game has been divisive. Do you think that a lower price point would have lead to a better reception? Was that even feasible? - Now, that's a personal consideration (though I'd be surprised if many disagreed with me) but dungeons in the game are a little.. barren and simplistic in design. Was that intentional, to avoid slowing down the gameplay, or do you feel you could have done more with traps/puzzles/secret passages/alternative routes/etc.? That's about all I can think on DSIII now, will probably try to think something on Obsidian in general later.
  20. I feel that all this discussion misses the point: the writing in Old World Blues just isn't particularly good.
  21. Writing in Old World Blues honestly feels pretty weak to me. It tries to be funny but rarely succeeds, and aside from that there's really nothing going on for it. Hopefully it will get better, but so far, it ranks up with Avellone's weakest offerings.
  22. Master of the Broken Worlds revealed, to be formally announced at GamesCom. It's a turn-based strategy/RPG btw.
  23. Now that you can do WASD properly the PC controls are not that bad, but yes, the game plays better on an Xbox 360 gamepad (that's how I played it, btw, though I've tried to use the PC controls too). The control scheme was conceived for a console controller since the very beginning and it shows.
