  1. XCOM, Darksiders II and Max Payne 3 are three games I'm strongly interested for this year. Can't think of anything else, though I'm at least curious about South Park: The Game because I like the TV series (plenty of bad there, but also plenty of good) and because it's from Obsidian (again, plenty of bad, but also plenty of good). Plenty of backlog to clear too, so I'm trying to limit my gaming purchases this year.
  2. Always thought it was perfect for a BioWare adaptation myself. Huge amount of angst and drama with attractive dudes for the fangirls, old American rock for the people who are nostalgic of the period when Jon Bon Jovi still had his voice and his hair, TPS-based shooter-y gameplay and no-nonsense action (plus Witcher-y monster-hunting mechanics?) for those people that like entertainment and games.
  3. I'm obviously not a developer on the game and I have no insider information, but I'd imagine Treasures of the Sun was the first and last DLC and that, since there seem to be no other notable bugs, there won't be new patches either.
  4. Strictly single-player affair.
  5. And there you see exactly why I called out Morgoth. He never misinterpreted something, he just wants to stir **** for giggles.
  6. It literally took me 20 seconds to check on his Twitter if he had issued some kind of clarification on that, in case there were any doubts. Plus, I honestly find it difficult to interpret it as such, considering the way the whole message was phrased, but I also understand language is ambiguous.
  7. Ahahahah no, he didn't say Blizzard is killing Diablo and you should be ashamed to post something so deliberately slanted: "Yeah, probably should have used a better verb than "kill it" about D3. They're going to do an amazing job."
  8. It's.. kind of true. Fallout 3 has a much more "ruined" and stereotypically post-apocalyptic setting, while Obsidian went (these are Josh's words, not mine!) for a "post-post-apocalyptic" feeling. Also, Bethesda had the benefit of not reusing assets, knowing the tools better and having a decade's worth of experience in building open worlds, and.. it kind of showed compared to New Vegas.
  9. You need something a little stronger than "the plot hook is kinda clich
  10. ...? Judging by his profile Aaron M. is still at Obsidian.. or am I missing something?
  11. GameInformer = mainstreamer than mainstream. Why exactly are you surprised? Also, that was definitely not one of Feargus' best moments. "Yeah we're kinda the original creators and we have Tim Cain! (Never mind we hired him after all the work on New Vegas was done and he wasn't involved in that project in any way shape or form.)"
  12. Wasn't Resident Evil 4 the game that popularized QTEs? I've honestly been wary of playing taht for that reason alone.
  13. Turn off post-processing.
  14. Looks pretty cool and B-movie-looking.
  15. Actually they're not being developed by the same team, or at least weren't until recently, considering Reckoning is essentially Big Huge Games' baby (now they've been bought by 38 Studios). As for the demo itself: with a good art style, better dialogue and an actual professionally-done UI this could have been a killer. Can't really judge on the quest design, since this is really early on, although it seemed nothing impressive unfortunately. In the state it is right now I think I'll wait on a deal. Comparisons to Divinity 2 I think are pretty apt, although comparing the two demos, I think Reckoning's combat is much better and the mechanics in general seem more solid.
  16. I've seen tons of LPs of Obsidian games, so I find it very unlikely that either them or the publishers would complain.
  17. I honestly care more about the first right now (plus it's more at risk).. hopefully they'll manage to land the project safely somewhere else.
  18. What's this? Doesn't look like Dungeon Siege III to me.
  19. If this is true I'd say Nightshape made a very good choice by moving to EA.
  20. "That one guy" that left Bio was the lead on Dragon Age: Origins, had some very detailed thoughts on why he left and also what he thought of Dragon Age 2 based on the demo. Some people interpreted it as more damning to BioWare than I think it was ever intended, but it nevertheless painted the picture of someone leaving BioWare because the company was going in a direction he didn't like (and in many ways, Dragon Age: Origins was the last of a dying breed as far as their games go).
  21. I don't know art style and backstory are pretty bad so far, but mechanically it sounds superior to pretty much every non-indie release in the last 5 years or so.
  22. I had about 7000 souls or so and was going back to the Undead Parish through the stairs in the Undead Burg in Dark Souls, the ones next to the bonfire... I was excited to have finally killed the non-respawning knight that's down there so I guess I got distracted, roll the wrong moment... and fell and died. Never got back all those souls
  23. Actually Interplay had very little standing in the case since the very beginning, and managed to survive in the case so far only due to Bethesda's lawyers utter incompetence. Still makes me sad for Chris Taylor and the other original devs involved in the project though.
  24. We would have liked to include this as well. I guess that explains it. Thanks for the reply!
