Fallout: New Vegas
Bethesda asking for questions for their podcast Since I have an account on the Bethboards, if you don't want to subscribe just tell me your questions and I'll post them. Posted it on this thread because I imagine 99% of the questions people may have here would be about New Vegas.

Patch release
Uninstalled AP. Call me when they have released a decent patch.

Patch release
Wow. Not only the new executable crashes every time I try to execute the game but it also corrupted my game! When I replaced it with my old executable I had lost all my saves (corrupted) and instead of hearing the normal sounds I should hear I could only hear a generic goon being beaten as a sound effect. FOR EVERYTHING. Kudos Sega & Obsidian! Kudos!

I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favourite thread on Obsidian
....since the game is in third person what exactly would iron sights add?

Fallout: New Vegas
Ze german grammar haz devolved now, ja? I wonder if there has been any change, even minor, to how stealth is handled in New Vegas. I am guessing no.

Fallout: New Vegas
It looks like some sort of upgraded version of the Advanced Power Armor Mk I...I am guessing that could be the Poseidon Power Armor. Can't say I like the design that much, but it's decent. Would have been better if they didn't take the screenshot with that ridiculous tribal helmet.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!, just a dumping ground
As long as I get more games that don't use UE3 I'm happy not talking about tech.

Fallout: New Vegas
Pretty sure they were confirmed.

Fallout: New Vegas
It doesn't really look like much has changed in that regard with New Vegas. From the previews/videos the enemy variety looks just slightly better than in Fallout 3.

Fallout: New Vegas
I think the approach was much more successful in FO3 than it was in Oblivion. Wandering in Oblivion was absurdly dull. It was indeed. Hopefully having already a pretty hefty number of assets to draw from will make exploration in New Vegas more interesting. Fallout 3 got dull after a certain point with just dungeons and dungeons full of feral ghouls.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS THREAD!, just a dumping ground
.... Talking about licensed engines I have yet to see a game done with CryEngine with the exceptions of Crysis and Aion. A pity (well, at least from my point of view, I don't know whether it's a pain to work with or not) since actually it seems pretty damn scalable.

Who's composing the soundtrack?
Inon Zur. He's a good composer but he's doing pretty much everything lately and the soundtracks are turning more and more generic as it goes. I wouldn't honestly recommend him.

New Neverwinter by Cryptic
For a moment I thought they finally showed something, if not to us, to the press. But nothing. Nothing at all.

I'm Commander Shepard and this is my favourite thread on Obsidian
It matches another rumor that was reported on GameBanshee. Far from a confirmation but it's at least possible that the source is the same.

Music
Roy Khan is generally hilarious, especially when he tries to pull of the 'dark, brooding sexy guy' thing live. Just hilarious. Still love Kamelot and Conception though.

Music
As stupid as they looked (but it's not like they were the only stupid looking band.. the 80s baby, the 80s!) they were a pretty awesome band. Poor Midnight. EDIT : I can't really hear anything progressive at all in Transcendence.
-
Music
I don't really understand what Crimson Glory have to do with progressive metal.

What are you playing now
Doesn't matter. It's 100% coming. I know Morgoth, but we don't know when.

C&VG: Sega rules out Alpha Protocol sequel
They could just do another spy (or heck, even something else as long as it's modern) RPG with a more defined style and refined mechanics while throwing some AP references here and there.

C&VG: Sega rules out Alpha Protocol sequel
I don't think the point is about whether someone enjoyed or not Alpha Protocol but whether a sequel can be financially viable. I can see a publisher being less than happy with the prospect of publishing a sequel to a game that was repeatedly called unfinished and buggy, has a metacritic score under 70 and has sold 700k copies on 3 platforms.

There better be secret passages!
I am wondering if there will be a focus on exploration at all considering that the game seems to be an hack'n'slash with some injections from traditional hardcore (how I hate the word) rpgs instead of an open world game a-l

What are you playing now
You guys know that Mass Effect 3 still hasn't been announced.. right?

C&VG: Sega rules out Alpha Protocol sequel
It is. No doubt about that. Also thanks to funcroc for posting that. There are definitely a lot of interesting bits there.

C&VG: Sega rules out Alpha Protocol sequel
Wait. So SEGA went all the way to say that there wouldn't be a sequel when they really weren't the one that should have said it in the first place? Wow. That was dickish. And good god, was the Alpha Protocol development ****ED OUT. Really? Every single mission in Rome was basically something hacked together with demo levels and re-purposed levels? It's a miracle the game turned out as it did. I can understand why Chris was so proud when it came out.
