  1. Sorry for the reaction, I was in a really bad mood. Still, my point stands, people have been complaining because there are problems, not because they like to complain, and if you actually look at their post history, a lot of those people that were complaining have defended AP.
  2. Yeah, I'm certainly inventing imaginary problems because I have nothing better to do! It's not like, say, I encountered those problems! You are the beacon of truth and hope Karl! Go on! You are the new Jesus Christ!
  3. How in hell does saying that they can't do combat and their engine sucks contradict the fact that they sell a lot? No one argued that, mkreku. Stop strawmanning for one, mkay? EDIT : Also, F:NV may be the first Obsidian game to get combat right, and I'll stress, maybe, so it's not like Obsidian has a great track record either.
  4. People taking Yahtzee's review as an indicator of the general opinion about a game.. that's cute.
  5. I'm honestly not that impressed with the writing in that trailer, it seems like it's trying too hard to be edgy and philosophical to me. Then again, it's just a trailer, so I can't really judge.
  6. Considering the game has already been content complete since E3 it's pretty obvious that it's for DLC.
  7. A stronger collaboration between the two teams would probably be very good and productive, but that's assuming Bethesda and Obsidian would want such a collaboration. Still, I wouldn't really mind. Also, I can't see that happening unless Zenimax buys Obsidian too.
  8. What does Devil May Cry creator think about the new Dante?
  9. You'll probably kill me for this but I think there's potential for something good on the East Coast too. Just hire some better writers and keep the tweaks to the mechanics made by Obsidian for New Vegas. ... If it's like Fallout 3 I guess I'll just wait for Obsidian's next spin-off.
  10. You'll find no disagreement from me on that. Anyway Planet Fallout is offering some T-Shirts as a prize for a contest they're hosting. For US/Canada citizens only though.
  11. They pretty much confirmed they will do Fallout 4 themselves, it's not like they've bought the license just to outsource it after all, and it's rumored that Fallout 4 is actually one of those two projects they are working on (after all they only have 2 big IPs).
  12. of course they are, somebody has finally shown them how it should be done. I bet F4 from Beth will be a fest of recycled Obsidian ideas. Well, that sounds like a good thing. But Bethesda will only love F:NV if it manages to sell well. Assuming the reception is good, it will sell tons. The pre-orders already outnumbered those of Fallout 3, and IIRC that was more than a month ago.
  13. Shouldn't the pipboy light here be orange, considering that now that's the default UI color?
  14. While taking out the seems pretty much obvious to me. Why the hell would the guy take it out otherwise? Plus we still don't know why the hell it's so important anyway, or why the guy took it from us, so it's not like they've suddenly spoiler the first half of the story. I mean, I'm fine with people not wanting to spoil themselves but I've seen some serious overreactions.
  15. To keep things in perspective : both the thing in the package and the shooter are revealed in the opening cinematic.
  16. All Points Bulletin bought by Epic? The plot thickens.
  17. Technically you don't destroy ANY corporation ("just" their CEO for the time beeing though you can damage the coorporation so that it goes under in the future). Even AP more or less cans itself. Well, Parker does after you run free. And AP isn't really "evil" in the first place since it's more or less used by Leland thanks to goverment contacts. Also you can join terrorists, take over the corporation, join the CEO. AP is more or less. Starting Location - 3 Hubs - Endlocation in enemy base. And that's more structure than story. ...you realized I was joking right?
  18. Operation Acoustic Kitty?
  19. It's implied that the overseers reported to the Enclave through a non-specified communication system. As for their utility, it was data to be used to plan for the Enclave's space ship trip to colonize another planet.
  20. "...And destroy the ancient evil corporation" There, happy?
  21. Still doesn't really fit considering that the Grey Wardens aren't really destroy and you don't have to resurrect them. The stories have some common ground, true, but that's just because they both rely on fantasy clich
  22. Ehrm.. no. Vault 87 had nothing to do with social experimentation, they were simply using the vault dwellers there as test subjects for the modified FEV strain. Nothing to do with social experiments, and there were social experiments in Fallout 3. I am not even saying that it's a contradiction to the old lore, it's really just an addition, or a new spin, take it as you will, just noting that it's something Bethesda added.
  23. As was already said that's not true... it was hinted at, fairly strongly toward the end, in the first game and outright said in the second. ? The Vaults in the first two games were social experiments, not military experiments. In fact, the military experiments were conducted in a totally separate location, the Mariposa base.
  24. If you buy the PC version I'm sure we'll see mods with normal skill checks in a couple of days.
