What are you Playing Now? - Right Now at the moment edition
Having a poke on my Steam Library and realised I hadn't actually gotten around to trying XCOM 2. So installed it, started it up. And found I get fairly continuous "pure virtual function being called while application was running (gisrunning == 1)" errors that crash me out. I've barely got into the third mission and I've had to restart the game about 18 times. No real solutions appear online after all these years, just that some magical combination no-one could ever confirm might possibly have an effect on some people... Apparently the Omnissiah is needed.

Dead Boy Detectives is fairly entertaining for what it is. A fairly decent adaption of Neil Gaiman's work, but you can tell the influence some of the scriptwriters had with a CW background.

Rebel Moon to Stretch Across Six Films as Zack Snyder Redefines the Trilogy Format (movieweb.com)- The TV and Streaming Thread: US Writers/Actors Strike Edition
Hm, after wrapping up the first season of Fallout I'm not completely sure how to take it. It looks good, it's got good actors, not sure quite how I feel over some of the changes / adaptions they've made with the lore. I'm probably going to end up watching season 2 just to see what Walter Goggins does with the Ghoul. Still struggling along with my sister getting my fathers things sorted after his passing. Not sure if the bereavement has kicked off the disrupted sleep issues the past month or so or something else, but has meant pushing through in a fairly constant state of tired bleh. Pondering on if that's a symptom of depression or if it's just the tired bleh talking. 😄 Need to figure out if there's a decent financial advisor to talk to about mortgages in the area, so I can start making decisions on whether I can buy out my sister's half of the house or I need to join her in selling it so I can get a new place. I do not want to move my library....- The TV and Streaming Thread: US Writers/Actors Strike Edition
Binge watched my way through half of Shogun over the weekend. Interesting some of the changes they've made, and the actors are putting a lot of heart and soul into it all. I'm enjoying it for what it is, and trying to not let my book reading spoil it.- Funny Stuff - It is the ability to take a joke, not make one, that proves you have a sense of humor

He wants to create his own version of Star Wars. So the whole universe of potential main story films and spin-off films and related media. But given the current reaction to Rebel Moon, who knows how far he'll actually get. Edit: Plus, his thing of getting Netflix to allow him to shoot one version for the "theatrical release" on streaming, plus his specific "Director's Cut" version at the same time. So everything that does come out will potentially have two versions....- Cinema and Movie Thread: coming at you at 24fps
Rebel Moon part 2. Glorious visuals. Even dodgier plot, character development jumps, and tactical nonsense. I want to like what these very good actors are doing, but what they seem to be stuck working with is such a pile of drek... I honestly wonder how the director's cut is going to actually provide some semblance of meaning to the whole thing, and does sheer curiosity of this train wreck inspire me to lose 5 odd hours of my life watching the combined version when it's released later?- Funny Stuff - It is the ability to take a joke, not make one, that proves you have a sense of humor
