  3. I'm in favour of old-school portraits. They just ooze personality and quite often are simply works of art. And you have an option to use whatever you like with custom options.   5. Reading these forums one might think that Project Eternity is actually a dating simulator, not an RPG. Sorry, but I'm a bit fed up all those romance topics - there are far more interesting topics to discuss - be it mechanics, the setting etc. etc. This game doesn't need romances.
  6. No thanks, I find VA more effective when it's used sparingly (case in point: Fallout, BG2) - those rare moments were really memorable.

  8. It's not a question of budget, it's a question of an artistic choice. Just so it happens there's plenty of "cinematic" to go around.

  10. I am pretty much sure a lot of people would pledge, say 8k, for a custom portrait done by Justin. And here's more: Let's make it happen guys!
  11. Actually, I'd like to point out that there are plenty of weapons of European origin which are underutilized in the games. Case in point, how often do you see: 1) Halberds 2) Spears and pikes 3) Rapiers 4) Basket hilt swords like that one : 5) Military flails 6) Repeating crossbows 7) Billhooks And there's plenty more. Some of those were in the BG and ID games, but mostly neglected in the modern cRPGs. That said, I wouldn't mind some exotic weaponry as well (like various sabres etc.).
  12. Melee combat is much more satisfying - weapon reach, grapple, coup de grace, attacks of opportunity, etc. etc. And that's only a start. The system was awesome and really promising. But it only made combat even more frustrating as encounter design sucked. Yeah, the encounters could've been better, especially in the later parts of the game. But like you've said, the system was really amazing. If done properly, it'd be a real treat.
  13. They could add another pledge tier, with a custom portrait made by Justin. Could have even a few stretch goals encompassing more portraits. The more the merrier, and it's a very tangible reward.

  17. Agreed, Dak'kon's design was great. When you think about it, there's no way better way to differentiate this game from other fantasy titles than to have realistic (not overly so, obviously) weapon and armour designs.
  18. Umm... I guess. It's been eternity since I last played any of those games. But I reckon that could work pretty fine, presumed you add a the queue system. I can't emphasize the importance of that enough. Since it's reeeaallly important :D
  19. I think bringing George in would definitely convince a lot of people to pledge.
  20. I'm very much against it - I think I'd rather have a longer, more satisfying solo experience instead of a half-baked (because that's what it'd amount to at best) multiplayer.
